  • Derya TM 22 - Sellier & Bellot Canadian Match - 50 Yards
I Have made small FREE modifications to this rifle and those mods have greatly improved the accuracy of this rifle. Besides the free floating barrel mods the rifle is stock as you would receive it from the dealer. Its a nice little plinker that has potential to be a real competitor amongst its peers like the Ruger 10/22 and its variants. I like to do things differently and try new things and this time its the Derya / Rock Island Armory TM22. I will be conducting ammunition tests with this rifle at 50, 100, 200 and possibly further. there 50 yard test will consist of 20 fouling shots to have the barrel seasoned for the ammo being tested. from there 4 5 shot groups will be fired to test the compatibility of rifle and ammunition.

Seems like it's usually finding the best ammo to match the rifle. Thanks for doing this... loving it!

I use SBCM and get mixed results. I have a Savage BSEV that shoots .35 where as my CZ is .8. at 50. Tacsol is 1+".

    Hi Ryan!
Just picked up the 20" RIA version of the TM22 and have a question. That being, what do I need to know to change the tube and stock from the funky thing it comes with? Any recommendations? Size? Length? Diameter? Suppliers?
Any issues with the 25 round mag?
Sure do appreciate your dedication to get out in the freezing weather to bring us this. JimE

Hi there, I’m not to sure about the buffer tube to be honest but I could measure it for you. I just run it as is.
I have never had any issues with any mags (10, 15, & 25) all function great. It even works with standard velocity ammo which I tend to use the most. It’s a great little inexpensive plinker for sure I just hate how the safety is opposite all my other semi auto rifles.

      @@BROTUNED Thanks.
" It’s a great little inexpensive plinker for sure..."
Very true but I have had a number of issues with might but I really like the little thing. Steve, gunsmith at RIA and I are on a first name basis.
I have had tons of failure to feeds, failure to extract and light primer strikes plus that funky safety decided not to work at all. It recently decided not to eject.... anything.
Currently Steve has replace the complete bolt and the trigger group. He had me adjust the extractor.
Last time I shot it, everything seemed to be working. I'm afraid to try it again.
Bottom line, I could really like thing if it worked.........all the time.
Keep the good content coming. JimE

Not as good as the previous test with the Norma Tac 22, not the mods performed but ammo I think. Still pretty good for that little plinker!

Maybe I’ll retest the tac22 because we all saw the baseline

@@BROTUNED yes, definitely! The Tac 22 shoots very well from that rifle and will show what improvements the mods have made in accuracy/consistency

Not the results I'm sure you were looking for. Apparently the rifle didn't like the taste of that ammo 😊
