Synopsis
Surrounded by a forest and a gated entrance, the Grace Field House is inhabited by orphans happily living together as one big family, looked after by their "Mama," Isabella. Although they are required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit, usually playing outside, as long as they do not venture too far from the orphanage-a rule they are expected to follow no matter what. However, all good times must come to an end, as every few months, a child is adopted and sent to live with their new family... never to be heard from again.
However, the three oldest siblings have their suspicions about what is actually happening at the orphanage, and they are about to discover the cruel fate that awaits the children living at Grace Field, including the twisted nature of their beloved Mama.

warning manga spoilers:
in the manga, shortly after this part sonju reveals to the kids that the majority of human farms arent like the ones emma and her friends came from, most of them keep the humans in extremely poor condition, strapped to feeding machines, barely alive, they know no language, have no names, and do nothing but get fattened for the slaughter. and among the hundreds of human farms like that in the world, only 4 of them let their livestock live with "happiness" like the one emma came from
and honestly i thought that was a great part in the story, it was really dark and gave their worldbuilding a whole new layer of disturbing

Wait... Now I'm fuckin confused. I read the manga after season 1 since I heard bad news abt season 2... Did they adapt the story from when they thought "Norman is dead"? How tf does that make sense when in the anime, Norman escapes with them?
