Great job at thoroughly explaining these cranky starters. We have a JD D130 and have now replaced the starter once, and then we got smart & just replaced the small gear. Our problem….we never counted the original number of teeth on our starter. Is there a way to determine how many teeth a starter should have?

good vid , thanks . i like to clean and grease both bushings and shaft . sometimes it improves starter performance a lot .
