  • Part 2 of a 3 part video series covering the Trail Tech Vapor gauge. This part covers the installation of a Trail Tech Vapor on my scooter. Most of the details are focused on scooters, but much of the info is applicable to many platforms.
    Part 1 Overview : • Trail Tech Vapor Gauge...
    Part 3 Setup : • Trail Tech Vapor Gauge...

    I am in no way affiliated or associated with Trail Tech. These videos were made because I get a lot of questions about this gauge in the comments sections of multiple videos where it is seen. Trail Tech was kind enough to let me use some of their stock photos of their parts for my videos.

    RPM , wheel speed (hall effect) and temp (prob k type thermocouples) are all basic sensors/data acquisition methods we learn to use in engineering. Pretty cool seeing a little package that uses all these. Really good deal for the $.

    I binged watched about 10 of your videos; you're clear, concise, and good camera angles make it a pleasure to watch. Thank you for your service. I'm hoping to pick up a Suzuki Street Magic TR50 for daily driving, this will be a sure-thing mod. Cheers.

    Hi 49ccscoot , i have issues with my vapor . it was installed by the workshop mechanic. it's brand new. running over bumps or uneven road, or at the time applying front brake i notice the backlight of the screen flicker or should i say the light intermittent disappeared, Its connected to ground on my bike bosy and Positive on my ignition wire. Is there a way to solve the issue

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guessing from my armchair over here, I'd think it would be either a loose connection in the wiring or the Vapor itself has an internal issue.

    Do you still put your magnet and sencer and that side or rotor side?

      It doesn't really matter. I just put it wherever it fits for the application.

    So hooking it to battery like that means you turn on the vapor manually or does it somehow turn off and on with the scooter key? Im so getting this for mine.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It turns on when the wheel sensor moves and stays on for a bit after the sensor stops. The display is actually always on, but the backlight turns on and off to save battery power.

    Hi . Temperature sensor wire is too short. Can I cut it out and extend it?

      I wouldn't suggest it. They are picky. It's best to buy an extension.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing specific. Any auto parts store. It doesn't drain the battery (much) because it just doesn't use much power.
