    I have the candy bleu one and I'm loving it! I removed the capacitator, lubed the nut, took out the middle spring and tightened the pegs just a tad because they were a bit loose when it came out of the box. I fully agree with your review, spot on!

      @BigJakeMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s awesome!! If I’d stuck with 9s, that middle spring would definitely have come out. But, I went with 10s, so I left the middle one in there. I love this guitar!

    Cool review and demo! These guitars are great to satisfy the "80's shred" needs, at a price that wont break the bank! A fun guitar to grab and mess around with!

      I absolutely agree! It's an amazing guitar, and the fact it's so cheap blows my mind.

    Man that is a lot of tone and cool for $200 always loved that headstock.

    • @BigJakeMusic
      @BigJakeMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The headstock is awesome on this, and it's an all-around fantastic guitar for the money. I'm still blown away by how good it is for what it costs.

    I went into local Guitar Center last week looking for a 335. $229 now. I tried a dozen different guitars (335’s and others), saw the Kramer Baretta and thought this is weird, one pickup and one knob (that’s probably what helps keep the cost down) but once I picked it up and plugged it in I knew I was going to get it - the rocking sound I’ve been looking for but the way it gripped, the neck is a perfect fit in my hands. I bought an $1100 Charvel for my birthday last summer and I love the way it looks and sounds but after one week and one guitar lesson the Kramer is much easier to play because of the comfortable neck. I play rock mainly but am also taught classical and jazz and there are some advantages to playing those styles on my Kramer as well (more space for finger picking, lighter color fretboard making it easier to find complicated jazz chords). I took the middle spring off the back to loosen the tremolo set-up and probably will get a DiMarzio pickup put in it.
    Have you made upgrades to this guitar? Thanks for sharing your playing too, you sound great!

    I'm not sure it'd be cheaper to have a floyd installed on these rather than buy a "full fat" Baretta, but it does seem an awesome guitar. I might have to get one!

      I recommend it! I own an ‘85 Baretta and a ‘86 Striker and am still holding onto this one.

    I bought one of these for 75 bucks awesome guitar..previous owner put Schaller lock tuners..I don't really like em.im gonna put some different ones in there.its got the lock plate on the neck,it's the plate where you tighten the nut of the tuners to hold the tuner in place.they keep moving.id rather have screws.

    • @BigJakeMusic
      @BigJakeMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know what you mean. Musiclily makes some that have the screw that should be a drop-in replacement. They are locking and work pretty well!

    You are going to want to change the tuners. I have the blue one. I changed the nut, bridge, pick up, and tuners. Loved it before and really love it now.

    • @BigJakeMusic
      @BigJakeMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Strangely, I am not having tuning issues at all, even when heavily using the trem. I have locking tuners for it but I’m afraid to install them because of how stable it already is! 😂 I don’t wanna mess up its magic or mojo

    Only thing wrong with that guitar is the strings need to be cut off before you stick someone in the eye with them. Mine was not set up I am still working on that. Im not a great guitar set up guy. The neck is good and striaght. the frets are level. Tuners work good for me. I adjusted the truss rod with a stright edge and its flat as can be. I did have to file the fret ends lightly. A guy dont have to go to town on them just go over them lightly. I would say best bang for the buck ever. I have many fireflys and they are good I like the 338s they can be had for 179.00 and the action is perfect. I have a harley benton G3 copy and I have no complants. Can a guy have too many guitars. NOPE! I also have a eppihone 100 good guitar for the money also. I would recomend all these guitars I mentioned. For great guitars for the buck. They could all use some pick up replacements except for the Keramer it has a nice pickup.

      I think it’s just 12 straight across. That’s how it’s listed in the product specs and how it feels to play!

    A decent guitar at a good price, it is what it is. The special is bargain basement. Hardware is quite cheap, pickup generic. For the price of upgrades get a used 84. If you truly want to play and get a good guitar save a couple hundred more bucks. The special at 199, you can sell it for 120 . Body, hardware, electronics are price point .Has no intrinsic value. The 84 will hold its value with a Floyd1000 and a Seymour Duncan pickup, alder or Maple body and 10 x's better neck..
