I love how Ratigan's subtitle changes when his card is flipped from "The Superior Mind" to "The Rat". It really shows how much his character shifts when thwarted....
HORNED KING FOR VILLAINOUS! HORNED KING FOR VILLAINOUS! HORNED KING FOR VILLAINOUS! Not enough people appreciate the Necromancer King. Hell, not enough people know about The Horned King/Black Cauldron! Was it one of Disney's better films? Not really, no. But it had one of The Most Metal Disney Villains Ever, and by God he is deserving of some recognition! HE WAS VOICED BY JOHN HURTS FOR GODS' SAKE!
@@tropicmarines9583 the line between Disney and Pixar is already thin enough, and after Merida from Brave became an official Disney Princess, the line is so thin you can only see it under certain light.
The ones that are still missing that should be there in my opinion: Cruella Lady Tremaine (Cinderella) Gaston Chernabog Shere Kahn (I have no idea how to spell) Frollo (although I can see why he’s not there)
Mother Gothel could be interesting as well. The board could be set up in a way where you're trying to play Rapunzel then intentionally locking your own location (the tower)
I really like this game. The 2 player game can run a little long as you're constantly Fating each other, but it's a really fun game to play. The theming in this expansion is wonderful. Having to find Cusco (just like the movie) and having two goals for Ratigan (just like the movie) are my favorite's for sure.
Just got my copy today, and was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. Unlike the core game, the stickers actually came off cleanly when I applied a heat gun, as opposed to the plastic detaching from the adhesive. Don't know if they changed the formula or what, but I have no complaints.
You see that Ratigan The Rat art!!! Jeeez! I love these factions, and I'm glad that between these expansions I never trouble myself with win button Maleficent or impossible Ursual again
You thought Maleficent was the easiest? I thought QoH was the easiest in the base box, then Maleficent, then John. We can all agree though that Ursula is impossible. Terrible design.
A few other Disney villains that I think could be used if they ever make another expansion: 1. Cruella De Vil (I'm surprised they haven't yet, they kind of teased her being used all the way back in the first game). 2. Shan- Yu (I consider him a rather overrated villain, but he could still fit into the game well, perhaps his objective could involve killing the Emperor at a certain location or getting enough Allies to the Imperial Palace that their combined Strength could equal a certain number). 3. Mother Gothel (Popular villain, her goal could involve trapping Rapunzel at the Tower or something). 4. King Candy (Awesome villain, with plenty of directions to take him in and plenty of both potential Heroes like Ralph, Vanellope, Felix, etc., and potential Allies like Sour Bill, Taffyta, the donut cops, etc.). 5. The Horned King (He's just scary as hell). I don't think I'd include Frollo or Gaston, though. As amazing as they both are as villains, I'm not sure if they could fit into the game feasibly.
general question with Scar: what is there in the hero deck to complicate his plot. It seems like the more heroes are on the board, the easier it is to win ... so I'm just wondering where the complication is.
I think Cruela's objective should obviously be around kidnapping all 101 dalmatians pups (not all individualy they could be divided into chunks) another villian I would love to play would be the horned King from the black cauldron.
I'm afraid you won't be killing anyone. The only "attacking" you will be doing is against some of your own cards. You may however complete the scar solitaire game faster than the games other people in the room will be playing in your presence.
Good review, cant wait to get this just for Scar. Please try to keep things in focus though, it's hard on the eyes constantly going in and out of focus.
I played scar a lot so here’s some tips: Set up a feeding ground on the savanna. Wield zazu like a weapon by using whispers, stampedes, and long live kings.
My only critique is those fate cards with the white backs. They look like they're prototypes. Bad design choice. Maybe a nice murky gray color that fits in with the look of the other cards?

Yes! I admittedly haven't seen it yet, but that's just because I want to first read the book. Once I do, I'll whip up a batch of my sausage nachos and give it a watch!
Tom, I’m not sure they gonna let you play someone whose goal is to kill hundreds of puppies... also I wonder, why would you want to play such a role? I remember you and Sam had complains about playing Chaos in the Old World since it was so vile and the map is “human skin”. And now you want to play the villain who collects puppies skin? It’s kinda... too much, isn’t it
I think the same reason that I can watch a cartoon show like Phineas and Ferb, which features a silly villain like Doofenshmirtz who wants to enslave an entire city. Im quite opposed to slavery in real life, but it's in a funny cartoon. Chaos in the Old World is a little less silly. Also, since we're humans, there is evolutionarily in us a subconscious distaste for seeing human death. Yes, killing a hundred dogs is vile, but there's still a step is disconnection for a lot of people. Everyone's different, and some people can't stand any harm towards animals, some are less bothered by it.
I want to clarify - I don’t have a problem with Cruella de Vil as a Disney villain. The thing is - villains in Disney movies FAIL. She didn’t kill puppies in the movie. And the villain from the show you mentioned - he doesn’t pull it off either. I have no problem with evil villains who fail. I just find it kinda problematic in this specific game, since winning with Cruella means you slaughter puppies. I guess in the best scenario she just collect many puppies and bring them to a certain place and the game ends there, but still, can’t you see how fucked up this is, to let Cruella win? Compared to the other villains, this one seems too dark to me.
@@Fizban I don't see it as any more problematic playing that character in the game than watching it in the movie. Also, I guess I don't see it as more horrible than killing one's brother and adolescent nephew. Both would be horrible in real life, but acceptable in a Disney movie. Sorry if we disagree. I understand some people have a much softer spot in their hearts for animals, and so some people find it worse than what other Disney villains have done. But, a very large amount of people will find it no worse. I should also clarify, I don't think it's wrong to feel the way you do. But likewise i don't think it's wrong for Tom or anyone to be excited about Cruella as a character.
Thank you for playing our game, Tom! We're so glad you came prepared. ;)
Prospero Hall It’s very fun

I'm glad they're not doing just the most well-known villains: that means Madam Mim has a shot!
if madam mim gets added ill buy this game

Zurg!!
Trusha D. Zurg was a Pixar villain, not a Disney villain. They are only putting Disney villains in Villainous.
@@tropicmarines9583 the line between Disney and Pixar is already thin enough, and after Merida from Brave became an official Disney Princess, the line is so thin you can only see it under certain light.
Ratigan is the best. So glad they included him.
Vincent Price's Ratigan was brilliant. Loved him.
Yasss I want to play as him so bad AAAAA MY FAV VILLAIN!
time to cue 'Be Prepared' for loop while i play as Scar. that whole soundtrack never gets old. cheers for the review Tom

So Ratigan goes Savage and Berserk if The Robot Queen gets discarded? I'm starting to like this Villain. 🐀➡️👹
That's what happened in the movie. He scared me as a kid. Voiced by the King of Horror, Vincent Price himself.
I was so happy to pick this up at Gen Con this year
We got Hades, and Scar, clearly the best Disney villain, but just give us Claude Frollo! Is that too much to ask?
I think They wouldn’t do it because of frollos adult nature.
My favorite villain is in this older
1st :Captain hook
2nd : hades
3rd : Dr.Faciler
4th: scar
5th:ratigan
That is only 5
My favorite is evil queen

I get so much anxiety when you drop and mix up all the cards!🤣Great review though! Can’t wait to add these villains to my game!!!
You see that Ratigan The Rat art!!! Jeeez!

All of these games/expansions have awesome art!
You thought Maleficent was the easiest? I thought QoH was the easiest in the base box, then Maleficent, then John.

I really like Ursula... My first time with her I won within 3 turns.
I thought Prince 👑 John was easy to win with

Great News! The third expansion titled Perfectly Wretched has a been announced to be released soon and you will finally be able to play as Cruella
OOGIE BOOGIE!!!!
I hope some one on the Dicetower reviews Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Ed. I think Tom hates that one don't remember.

Right answer please
@@drorios8864 I did pick up the deck. Simply put there's a lot of event cards that return defeated heroes into the combat area.
I first played this at my brothers. I was like what is this. Seems ridiculous. Went and used Hades and had a blast
Hope they do sugar rush or toy story next. Prospector will be a good villain
They haven't touched Pixar villains yet.....and my thought is that won't be until they run through all viable Disney ones.
I understand how it’s unlikely, however I do believe that the villains from Bug’s life and Monster Inc could be pretty cool
Wreck-it-ralph would be awesome
I love Villainous, but I really hope it gets at least 1 more expansion, or it won't really feel feature complete. I need at least Cruella,.
We need Cruella and also GASTON!
Judge Doom would be a fantastic villian to have
I think Cruela's objective should obviously be around kidnapping all 101 dalmatians pups (not all individualy they could be divided into chunks) another villian I would love to play would be the horned King from the black cauldron.
We need an Oogie Boogie, Captain Gantu, The Heffelump, King Candy, Constance Hatchaway, and Davey Jones pack
Cruella is coming now but they’re missing the Mulan villain
Does this increase the number of players you can play with
Finaly i can play scar and kill everybody so be prepared

Ok someone explain if I’m wrong but scar is the hardest to play. I am 0-5 with him. I can’t get the ground running with him. Any suggestions?

Why does Yzma's Fate Deck have to be split into 4?
DisneyVillains Fan16 I’m guessing it’s just a thematic mechanic they added because you’re trying to find Kuzco
I’d love a live-action expansion with Davy Jones and MCP (from Tron). Or a Pixar expansion with Zerg, Chick Hicks, and Syndrome
