I do love all 3 of these characters. However I will say that Syndrome’s fate deck is BRUTAL. The fact that there is one card that makes you discard most of your hand and also a card that makes you discard all allies and items makes it almost impossible to keep your major modifications safe, and the whole deck has only the exact amount you need to obtain the next omnidroid. Therefore if you have to discard even 1, you have to go all the way through your deck again just to get that one card back
I can totally see that happening! There’s definitely a few discard-draw-discard-draw characters, in Villainous, but if you can be sneaky and order your moves right, you might be able to get away with it. We definitely had some Syndrome wins! I would agree his is probably the most brutal of the three though. Thanks for watching!!! ☺️
I really liked how thematic these characters were. These definitely returned to the feeling that I am truly living out these villain's actions in the game! I did find Lotso to be very unbalanced against other characters whom have brutal fate decks. I played against him as Pete, and since Lotso can easily just go between his two Fate locations and keep control of where the heroes are in his realm, it's really difficult to maintain progress if you have to constantly be Fate-ing just to try and get a little breathing room. I was completely destroyed.
Hey Eric!! Yeah I totally felt like I was fating a lot as Lotso, you can combat that a bit by covering the Fate action with heroes - the only trick with Lotso is he’s moving all the heroes to the caterpillar room, so he clears it back up pretty quick. I always have a hard time winning as Pete, but he’s one of my all time favorites!!! ☺️
That’s true! That’s why playing it at the right time is crucial (it won’t discard omnidroids), for instance, one time I played the remote the same turn that I won. If people are fate spamming, you can cover their top fate action to slow them down.
I have not played it enough yet, but the time I have, I had several Allies and 2 or three of the terminates cards and the fate came out and wiped the board. Still a great game and thank you for the review keep up the great work.
Oof, yeah that sounds rough! I would definitely agree that sometimes the fates just do not align (pun intended!) - it’s not the fairest of games, but one of the most thematic, and is enjoyable for the theme and experience. So glad you liked the review, thanks for watching!!
We were in Target yesterday and I had forgotten that this was already released, so we were excited to pick it up. Lotso is my fave of this one. Don’t care about Syndrome at all, but great that the Pixar door is open now!
I totally thought the color pattern of the boxes were the colors of the infinity stones. So after the Gaston expansion, I thought they were going to release a blue box with maybe Rasputin, Frollo, and the evil step mother (though now she's already been released).
Not for nothing, i dont get the expansions because it has my fave or not, it was really for the new strategies in different villains! I want another marvel villainous expansion! If there's now a star wars villainous, idk what to do with myself! 🤣
It’s great having so many different strategies! I’m sure Marvel Villainous will see an expansion in the future. We’re very excited for Star Wars Villainous!
I’m going to say it now- Syndrome is the hardest villain in the entire roster by far- I’ve never lost a game until playing Syndrome. That fate deck is worse than Scars! I am now going to go and get good at him
Dang! I felt that way about M.O.D.O.K. - from our plays it wasn’t too bad, but it definitely can be hard! I think a lot of the Villainous strategies are dependent on the card draws. I hope you’re still enjoying it!
There were so many of the same conditions cards like madam Mim has 8 conditions cards but only 2 types on the other hand syndrome has 10 condition cards which is 1/3 of his deck and has 4 types. That was the only thing that stuck out as weird to me and some of those felt unbalanced.
I totally get that! We've had a couple other villains before with repetitive fate decks. I definitely agree that it would be nice to have a more diverse deck, one challenge is that it actually feels more fair if the cards are common though (because you're not waiting for that ONE card to come out - and you can also expect what is coming) - so it feels like a blessing and a curse.
We were in and got exclusive coverage of the first official VILLAINOUS TOURNAMENT! th-cam.com/video/_T--b2TVqhM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eqFkVtJCyCLR8AYk

We hope you enjoy the game! Thanks so much, Kurt ☺️ so glad you like our content! ☺️
With syndrome the fate card that’s totally wicked is the one card that can crush your entire momentum when it comes out at the wrong time.

To be honest, from the first game of Villainous, one of first characters i thought of for expansion was Madam Mim
You called it!! This ended up being a great one.
How would you rank the expansions? I have the main box and 3 expansions so far. My favorite is the perfectly wretched.
Not for nothing, i dont get the expansions because it has my fave or not, it was really for the new strategies in different villains! I want another marvel villainous expansion! If there's now a star wars villainous, idk what to do with myself! 🤣
