WHY DOES SAMUS HAVE THE SLOWEST ROLL? She has equipment designed specifically to roll. THE FIRST POWER UP YOU GET IN THE ENTIRE SERIES IS THE MORPH BALL. This is also ignoring she has upgrades designed just to enhance her rolling form including its Speed and mobility. I get gameplay balance but seriously the slowest roll, you couldnt even give ZSS that slowed roll or litteraly anyone that would be more fitting for.
Now that you mention it, i feel that some characters in Smash are way weaker than they should be, imagine Samus having her movement speed and fire ratio from her 2d games, like metroid zero mission, having a quick morph ball (in some games, like metroid 2 or other M, samus is faster in morphball mode than she is while running) not getting glued to the ground when shooting and having a truly killer screw attack, imagine her *truly* being as she is in every main metroid game... It is sad to see Samus be weaker than Zero Suit Samus, having her misiles and screw attack stopped by slingshots, darts and arrows, being slower inside a super high-tech exosqueleton than almost any "naked" human in the game...
+Alejandro Villada she would be rather OP. She`s more or less balanced in the game as a WHOLE, excelling at mid range and aerial combat, but below average up close,. if anything, she`s designed to fight crowds, not individuals, like ganondorf (strong single hits, endurance etc.) for competitive play, you have zero suit samus.
Alright this is my favorite Sm4sh video now and i'm probably gonna main Samus. This girl's voice is also really relaxing and easy to listen to. Have her do more videos pls :D
Honestly, every character guide should be this in depth. 22-ish minutes is perfect. You talked about everything; you didn't just say tech chase, you showed her best tech chase options. you didn't just say combo, you showed viable combos. I came to smash from competitive Tekken, and that scene is half the size of this. I love Tekken, but the non-korean scene is so small. but their tutorials blow every other fighting game out of the water. their tutorials cover everything. they are like an hour long, at least. I won't even watch a character guide if it's not an hour long, I'd literally scroll right past it. but this tutorial was perfect. if every character guide was put together like this, the competitive scene would be so much more approachable. I've been playing competitively for a year now, ( I'm alright, I know I'm not a for glory scrub, I have some fighting game inclination) and had no idea about frame data for smash. in Tekken that's all anyone talks about. what's the optimal punish at -10? a jab. so if you implement a little frame data this would even better. I know it's not as concrete as Tekken, as knockback is an entire function rather than an integer. but the more simple stuff. I can't give you an example because I don't know where frame data knowledge is useful, but I know it can be because a little more game knowledge id's always more useful. all in all, this tutorial was perfect, made me reconsider the tier list, ( all tutorials should), made me think about what sakurai said about Samus being the top of the the list, inarguably. definitely made me wanna pick up samus. great job, and I hope you do more like this.
+noah hernandez Hey dude, I also come from a Tekken background and moved to Melee about a year and a half ago or so (same problem, the lack of a scene here in the US). When I was learning out of shield game in smash, it was difficult at first for me to understand it. Your options aren't as simple as "Did I block a forward smash? Yes? Free Shield Grab!" because good players implement spacing on their moves against shields. Not sure how much of this applies to smash 4, but in general, judging how much shield stun you have in comparison to your opponent's lag is what determines your punish. So drawing from a common Melee example, Falco's down air will do x amount of shield stun if it connects with your shield at the initial hitbox. If he does the down air high on your shield, you'll be able to shield grab him because the stun will be over before he's out of landing lag on the ground. If Falco's dair connects at the bottom of your shield, however, you won't be able to grab because you'll still suffer the same amount of shield stun frames, but Falco will be closer to the ground and ready to move more quickly. There aren't many moves with positive properties on shield (pretty sure every move is negative frames on shield in smash 4, and only shine and a few others in Melee depending on the placement) but understanding how a move interacts with your shield depending on where it connects in relation to your opponent is important. A much more common scenario in Smash 4 is a move that simply outspaces your punish options, such as the examples shown here with Samus' Up and Down tilts. Many characters also have aerials that are safe on shield that they can hit you with and then fade back out of range to remain safe. So this is why requesting a comprehensive list of punishers for every situation, in the Tekken sense, is impossible, because there are an infinite number of micro-spacings and timings on shield for every character in the game. It's impossible to just say "At -10, jab." However, you can think about your out of shield options in other ways. Samus' fastest offensive action out of shield is her up b, but your opponent has to be stuck right next to you in order for that to connect. Not sure how many frames it is to simply drop shield in this game, but it's way shorter than in Melee. If your opponent spaces an attack out of your up b range and your grab is too slow to punish it (which is most moves, since Samus' grab is horridly slow) then simply dropping shield might be an option. You can drop shield and stand in place to watch and try to powershield an attack. Drop shield and jab or tilt defensively. Drop shield dash away. Drop shield dash forward. Smash is a game full of creative options like that. Samus' roll is pretty much unusable, and I think it's punishable on reaction in this game. If you need to avoid a shield grab, a spot dodge or an aerial attack out of shield (up air is your fastest I think, but you'd have to be aware of the high hitboxes) would be a better way of dealing with them. In general, I think the best way to replace rolling with Samus is jumping (usually away) and immediately airdodging. I can't really imagine any scenarios where roll is better than this. If your opponent spaces an aerial in front of your shield, you could also try jumping back with a Zair to try to reconstruct some pressure of your own. In general, Samus' out of shield options are pretty bad, and she relies on running away a lot and not getting locked down into her shield to win. Keep in mind that this is all stuff I just thought up off the top of my head. I don't really play Smash 4, so take it with a grain of salt, but the general concepts should still apply. Explore all of your options and find what situations they're useful in. Really, the only way to learn that is to play the game. You can find examples of some options that are good, but it's much better for you to think of them yourself, as it promotes the ability to adapt to situations in game and helps learning, since smash is entirely about adaptation. Hope this rant helped or made some sense!
***** I prefer to focus all of my energies on one competitive smash game. The physics engines between the two games are totally different and I would end up not playing to my full potential in either. Still, I love keeping up with the Smash 4 scene and watching what crazy technology you guys keep coming up with!
***** Yeah, Melee has moderate technical skill floor to begin playing it at a competitive level compared to Smash 4, but I think you'll find the higher up you go in Smash 4, the more difficult a lot of techniques become. The skill floor in Melee definitely isn't as crazy as something like, say, Tekken, where you have to memorize tons of frame data, which way to sidestep each move, frame trap setups, combos, and Korean Backdash Canceling just to start playing. Compared to that, learning how to wavedash and L-cancel is pretty simple! :P I think both Melee and Smash 4 are great competitive games that have high skill ceilings; it's just a matter of preference!
+XrossFixtion Same here! I've wanted to play Samus for so long, but she has been bad for so long! She's only been good in Melee. I can't wait to see what becomes of Samus after this patch! I hope It's enough.
I have been a Samus main ever since I was 5 in the N64, altough I didn't know the concept as such hahah. Melee, Brawl, Sm4sh, I always gotta be pullishing my game. I have had great results on 1v1, team matches, I consider myself a pretty alright Samus, even on her constant low tier status, but MAN have you showed me so many things I had been overlooking, I truly thank you for this compilation, excellent guide.
+Danchey Kang Link is not an untrained warrior, he posses the spirit and skill and knowledge of the courage part of the triforce IE thousands of years of experience. Ninjitsu isn't even a martial art.
man you made samus look like the coolest character in smash haha. definitely considering picking her up as a main or secondary now. Ty for the hard work and definitely continue with the voice actors too, it's a nice little addition to the video
+matt's games If you enjoy reliable combos and edge guarding that is. 😉 She really is a lot of fun. and never forget that just about anything can combo into charge shot
I enjoyed the speakers voice. she was playing a role and enunciating clearly. the little extra effort of going through the trouble to spice up the video with a voice actor is appreciated, and she didn't sound dumb. she sounded like she was speaking very clearly in a measured pace.
Honestly dude, you seem to be very good at "game-autopsies" :p I love how deep your work goes. I have learned so much through your stuff. And you also have very nice editing skills which make your videos really entertaining as well. Keep it up Izaw.
Matthias Giuliani lol that helps XD but it's actually very informative I used to just run up and press buttons and that has works up until now but I wanna add some tech to my gameplay
A very useful (and nicely done) Samus guide :D it's nice to see that not everyone gave up on Samus, tho I suppose the patch will guarantee a slightly bigger playerbase for her
Awesome guide. Wide explanation on every option. I wish my characters explained themselves on how to play them too! Btw great music selection, I'm going to play metroid games now
+Hasan Mubarak The reason Samus was placed at the bottom of the tier list is that a lot of her moves used to be literally broken. D-air, N-air, and dash attack's hitboxes were extremely wonky and would sometimes just miss even when they clearly hit; F-air and Up Smash used to not actually combo into themselves correctly making them almost entirely useless; U-tilt used to extend Samus' hurtbox farther than the hitbox of the move, sometimes causing your correct U-tilt to damage you instead of your enemy. They've since fixed I believe all of that over the course of the game's lifespan and patches, it's just that not many people play her so it's not that well known.
+Hasan Mubarak Tier placement is determined by MU and viability. Some characters are still unexplored and have hidden potential that has to be found. Characters like Shiek and ZSS were obviously Top Tier because of their excellent frame data, fast moves and very good kill options + they can be played reactionally instead of based on reads. Other characters get good tier placements because they have good tools or some of their moves have a good synergy like ZZS' stun gun into Up-B or if the opponent is stunned off stage then you might be able to spike them with Down-B. Last but not least is the question if the characters are overall tournament viable. Since many people go for high tiers, mid-bottom tiers stay where they are because they get used the least so people don't find the potential of the characters. LIke Zelda has her "elevator" which kills at about 50-60% and is a great out of shield option. When characters get buffs, people start exploring mid-bottom tier characters (at least those who were buffed) and might find a lot of tools and options with those characters.giving them an opportunity to rise in tiers. If someone knows what they are doing then even bottom tiers can wreck top tier characters.
+Hasan Mubarak Yeah this patch and the previous one really ruined the official tier list. Of course patch 1.1.4 came very shortly after the first tier list. Haha! A lot of changes are going to have to be made.
Favourited the video. I've always had an interest in Samus and played her casually for fun from time to time, but after playing against a really good one the other day I got excited when I saw this video. My opponent was using bombs onstage as a spacing tool, dropping them and retreating. That essentially forced me to either shield or jump, and created opportunities for him to punish. It honestly got kind of annoying, but I made sure to take notes. Great video, and the comments have a bunch of helpful people too, I see. Keep it up, I hope to see stuff like this for my mains! (Namely Pit, ROB, and Pikachu)
I've absolutely adored Samus since her buff in Smash 4, and I'm starting to look for tips on getting better with her. This is my favorite video on the topic by far - the format is excellent, the voicework is appealing, and the use of music is superb. 👍
I'm a beginner of smash bro, so this video is so useful and easy to understand how perfectly I play samus. Also, I can clearly listen to this explanation because its english is slow (though I'm japanese) Thank you!
+Mizuki Doi if you're gonna hit a shield with an aerial hit the edge of the shield not the top. if you're gonna roll, roll forward to cross up attacks but you should pretty much never roll back. learn total tilt the stick just far enough to walk slowly one way, and then back the other, and learn to switch quickly. good luck.
>all these true combos, guaranteed shield break setups, virtually inescapable tech chases and edge guard options >E-tier >"Euuuuuugh, but her side roll is bad!" the logic of the majority of smash players gives me an ulcer
She's dependent on reads, making her a character fit for a chess player. You can't just rush at people with her like the other characters. She also heavily uses short hops for many combos so you need a steady hand for damage racking. You also need that steady hand when using Bomb for recovery and gimping traps. Basically Samus is tough to learn but a force to be reckoned with when you do.
I was looking for a guide on Samus because I need a character who can force approach well like her. This gave me everything I need to get started and everything I need to practice. Thank you for such a detailed guide on this character and their options.
Great Video! Love the first person take on this as well, it was pleasant to listen to. I may want to think about revisiting Samus. I haven't used her as a one of my mains since Melee, but she definitely seems improved, especially that screw attack kill power.
This is really nice, thank you! Despite what happened between you and another famous player out there the other day, i really hope to see more Link in the future! Thanks ^^
+Jacob Lewis yeah, i'm talking about that. he got pretty upset with people calling him a liar because there was no video showing him he won the match against Zero. he made a mistake, uploaded the video and now is sorry about that. so as you can see, people that dislike him made him make a mistake. that's why i'm cheering for him. i hope he focus more on people that like the content he puts on (for example, this vid has way more like than dislikes) than people that dislike him (even though the thing with Zero probably made him get more haters). bad energy from the haters has consumed him and that's why i am telling him i want to see more, because i like the stuff he puts.
how are you able to change direction after the ledge trump at 0:50 ? i have been trying but i can't change direction in air. in the vid it looks like u trump, then push the stick down to get of the ledge then jump, then all the sudden samus turns to use her power shot?
+IzawSmash are you gonna do a guide for every character like this? I'd like to see a Villager one if you could someday, but hey, that's just an opinion, thanks for this guide! :D
+IzawSmash izaw you made me a good link for ssbb now you've made me good with link for ssb4 gracias mucho! .....sonic would be fun to learn but I doubt there's much to learn
+IzawSmash What about one of the most underrated/underused characters: R.O.B.? The only known player seems to be 8bit-man. The world needs inspiration to get more people to Beep Boop.
Could anyone explain the exact inputs for the Reverse Charge shot at 1:56? I'm always having trouble doing it and I end up shooting a missile back towards the stage (but no charge shot), or a charge shot towards the blast zone (wrong direction).
Corruption title screen makes me sad. So many good tracks to pick from the series, and Smash is stuck with Brinstar from Metroid NES. Oh, come on, Nintendo!
You can also dash in place using a perfect pivot motion, but holding in one spot for a bit longer if you have the timing it should only take the time of turning around to do this into a grab
I like how in the examples of combos inspired by Danish are on the exact same characters he did it on. Also 11:05 "It won't lead to any true combos" 11:15 proceeds to show true combo And I'm going to try pulling off 11:58. Alongside 18:15.
REAL Samus strategies: Power Suit Samus: Never forget that you are armed to the teeth. Hundreds of different beam types, missiles, super missiles, power bombs, and other amazing items are always constantly at your disposal. With a handful of shots from a fully-upgraded beam, you can easily take anyone on (except Ness or Lucas, who have Franklin Badges which deflect beams and lightning, or anyone else with resistances or similar reflective properties. Remember that a beam can't pierce Nayru's Love or any sort of protective magic), or with the Ice Beam, you could turn an opponent into a convenient platform. Also, you're extremely nimble, despite how bulky the Power Suit looks. You can jump as many times as you need, and if you enable the Screw Attack, you hit like a truck while somersaulting. Also, be sure to get a hang on advanced techniques such as Shinesparking, Bomb Jumping, wall jumping, Power Bomb beam combos, and the Crystal Flash. However, in order to turn on or off upgrades, you need to stop what you're doing and manually switch them on or off, which takes a while. As long as you have your suit, you're a powerhouse. However, you're not invincible. Don't forget that when you run out of energy, you lose your shielding, and are stuck as... Zero Suit Samus: Run. Just run. Your mission now is to find a way to restore your energy tanks and not get destroyed within 5 seconds, which is best achieved through your gunship. To help with that mission is an emergency pistol, which can stun an enemy for a few seconds when charged, a pair of Jet Boots, which can help you defend yourself should you get cornered, and your appearance, which in a worst-case scenario does absolutely nothing, may occasionally slow down specific opponents, or in a best-case, stun them in case they've been absolutely clueless this whole time that Samus is a girl. The Gunship: It's also very important to remember your gunship. This state-of-the-art ship can restock you on energy, missiles, and power bombs if needed, and can even defend itself. However, it's usually best to park it in a less accessible location so enemies can't wail on it, but also convenient enough to get to if you need to recharge.
I've been thinking about picking up Samus. I tried Palutena but we didn't fit well and what little of Samus I have played has fell really good. I'll definitely be trying to practice some of this stuff. thanks Izaw your tutorials have helped me improve my link game so much! can't wait to see where my Samus game goes.
I Respect Mr.Izaw he's the best Thank you Mr.Izaw for this Art Of samus Vid I really Appreciate it because I'm a good samus main myself and I was waiting for a vid of what samus can do that's this good and you did it Thanks bro
I think I would prefer if the voice was just a narrator talking in 3rd person. As it is now I find some parts kind of corny (mainly some of the lines in 1st person).
Can you explain how to reverse a chargeshot in the air? Also I know I harped on the voice acting last time, its really not that bad, but the thing that urks me are the incorrect words, such as "regrab the ledge for *invisibility*"
Ooh, I like this. I've been trying to get good with Samus because she's fun to use. I knew of a couple of combos, but I like a lot of what I saw here. Time to hit the lab!
+Diogo Ribeiro I removed some kill setups that don't work anymore, I also removed some things like short hop double up air etc. And then I added some things about the Neutral Air into the guide.
OnlyThePurpleFruitLoops You might be confusing a reverse with a B reverse. Izaw reversed the charge shot at the ledge in the video by double jumping back towards the stage then firing it. He didn't b-reverse
Whats your source on the Shield stats presented at 2:24? Not doubting the information just curios on where you got it from. Thank you and have a nice day
WHY DOES SAMUS HAVE THE SLOWEST ROLL? She has equipment designed specifically to roll. THE FIRST POWER UP YOU GET IN THE ENTIRE SERIES IS THE MORPH BALL.

it travels a long distance however, I think its mostly designed as an escape option than to try to punish, I spam it when people try to corner me.

Thank you for this.
The effort and time this took..
Well worth the wait Izaw!
As a samus main you've done me proud.
(Buff hype!)
+Parris360XP im soo hype, me tooo :D

Heyyy! Fellow main! (I also main ganondorf tho)
Same
I been maining Samus and Kirby since 64, i really don't care if they're bad or not, I'll beat you anyway
Literally the ONLY thing missing, now that I think about it, is "See you next mission!" at the end.
Well that was fast. Good stuff keeping it updated!
I'm glad to see you here. I want to see your Samus keep getting better. you play an amazing Samus
I think the 1st person narrator was a nice addition. it'd be funny to see you try an do it for olimar though
With his deep ass voice
yeah! or yoshi!
Duck Hunt would be the best thing on TH-cam
"I REALLY hate it when my enemy perfect shields my projectiles." 😂
Blackimar Same
Blackimar as a samus main I can relate ;-;
As a not samus main, I like perfect shielding projectiles.

Saul Muratalla how will you explain void's and mr r's results
18:15 ... Why did the narration make that sound so lewd? Is getting flung upwards an important part of how Chozo mate?
It said if You press down, I'll be flung upward
Cobalt Kirikizan just stfu
man you made samus look like the coolest character in smash haha. definitely considering picking her up as a main or secondary now. Ty for the hard work and definitely continue with the voice actors too, it's a nice little addition to the video
she's pretty fun to play as

I was able to combo into charge shot before, but now I suck at doing that. But I still win most of my matches, though.
me too. samus is wonderful. (my main)
This sexy voice talking about "I'll be punished" sounds so naughty.
hahaha this is so amazing
other commentors agree with you
It sounds so seducing but it fits very well for Samus. It just makes it harder to comprehend the guide.

I enjoyed the speakers voice. she was playing a role and enunciating clearly. the little extra effort of going through the trouble to spice up the video with a voice actor is appreciated, and she didn't sound dumb. she sounded like she was speaking very clearly in a measured pace.
Why are they talking like this? Sounds like some seduction series or some shit.
"punish me daddy"
DJ Trevy Trev
"I would much rather short hop~"
"I love using it to kill~"
It's a reference to Other M. I sort of wish they hadn't done it that way...
Truly captured the perfect monotone of Other M. Although there's not enough whining about "The Baby"
the baby
the baby the baby the baby the baby's cry like a baby the baby
I didn't know samus helped you making videos
Love the Samus voice actor!

Who else thinks Izaw makes awesome content ? It's always complete and precise. I love how you see the game.
ty
Honestly dude, you seem to be very good at "game-autopsies" :p I love how deep your work goes. I have learned so much through your stuff. And you also have very nice editing skills which make your videos really entertaining as well. Keep it up Izaw.
Matthias Giuliani I agree this is the only video I've watched and I instantly fell in love
Maybe that's because Samus sounds so sexy :p No haha go watch his other "The art of" videos, they're equally excellent
Matthias Giuliani lol that helps XD but it's actually very informative I used to just run up and press buttons and that has works up until now but I wanna add some tech to my gameplay
HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIET
The amount of effort I see that people put into this is amazing.
Great moves guys, keep it up, proud of you.
A very useful (and nicely done) Samus guide :D it's nice to see that not everyone gave up on Samus, tho I suppose the patch will guarantee a slightly bigger playerbase for her
God damn, that was fast!
Something about this being narrated in first person is just so awesome
Awesome guide. Wide explanation on every option.
I wish my characters explained themselves on how to play them too!
Btw great music selection, I'm going to play metroid games now
This was amazingly well-made, and further proves that our tier list is crap. Great work, and great voice acting!
We don't have a tier list
lol
Are the future guides gonna be in this style with the character speaking? Personally I prefer this
+TheWhitestBlackGuy Kirby guide would be really corny.
+Zzzzzx
Can't wait for Pikachu'
+Claire lol!
+Yanly what about captain falcon "ok after I jump I do Knee!!!! FALCON PUNCH then show me your moves!
Captain Falcon's one I'm really hoping for lol me and the Discord chat would love to review it
This was really thorough! I'm really impressed!
Wow! Samus has great options and comboes. I hope she rises on the tier list. Great video (I want to play Samus now lol).
When the voice actor in this guide is better than the one in Other M
Can you guys do an Art of Pit guide please?
Im just one person and yea eventually
+IzawSmash or Bowser
the amount i know about the pits is crazy...if only i wasn't a nobody to ya I could help out lmao
Manta pit is underrepresented
I've absolutely adored Samus since her buff in Smash 4, and I'm starting to look for tips on getting better with her. This is my favorite video on the topic by far - the format is excellent, the voicework is appealing, and the use of music is superb. 👍
It's about time she got a few buffs! They still didn't fix her jab or her small f-smash hitbox.
No
+Andrew Smith They fixed FSmash
+Andrew Smith Yeah they did! Well jab is BETTER anyway. It links at mid percents now.
+NeoSpeedFreak: No fixes on FSmash. Anything you saw was deconfirmed on the Patch Notices. People claimed to still whiff upclose.
jab is trash at 0-30% and fsmash still misses up close
This is an awesome guide. Appreciate the time and effort put into this, definitely gonna share this video with the rest of my buds.
Good work!
Dude, I didn't even know Samus had this many tools in Sm4sh.
That's awesome!
I'm a beginner of smash bro, so this video is so useful and easy to understand how perfectly I play samus. Also, I can clearly listen to this explanation because its english is slow (though I'm japanese) Thank you!
+Mizuki DOI These kinds of guides are extremely useful for starting the game. Make sure to practice a lot with this.
Glad to hear that :)!
+Mizuki Doi
if you're gonna hit a shield with an aerial hit the edge of the shield not the top. if you're gonna roll, roll forward to cross up attacks but you should pretty much never roll back. learn total tilt the stick just far enough to walk slowly one way, and then back the other, and learn to switch quickly. good luck.
1:39 "I cannot charge while I'm airborne"
Well, Smash Bros Ultimate has got you covered then!
>all these true combos, guaranteed shield break setups, virtually inescapable tech chases and edge guard options
>E-tier
>"Euuuuuugh, but her side roll is bad!"
the logic of the majority of smash players gives me an ulcer
She's dependent on reads, making her a character fit for a chess player. You can't just rush at people with her like the other characters.
She also heavily uses short hops for many combos so you need a steady hand for damage racking. You also need that steady hand when using Bomb for recovery and gimping traps.
Basically Samus is tough to learn but a force to be reckoned with when you do.
This is a really neat idea. Needs some work with the script, but YEAH! I really like this as a concept and a way to explain a character. Good work!
I love how it's narrated in first person. as always, very informative video!
Love the voice acting guys! Great video!
I never thought I'd find such a high quality guide that was also so entertaining.
these videos deserve more than what they are recieving. BIG PROPS to you!
i like how the video was narrated in 1st person. you should make more art of videos like this
SO MUCH INFORMATION I CANT LEARN IT ALL AT ONCE AHHH
Seriously though, great job on this guide, its amazingly in-depth.
Best smash related vid on youtube since the hours long history of smash melee
This video is AMAZING. Thanks a lot. I'm playing Samus Main, and some details were new, even to me. Good stuff!
gorgeus guide! very detailed, ilustrative and useful. I loved the voice ;)
Samus doing a Samus guide? Holy balls this is great.
As a former Samus main I plan to start playing as them again and this guide is really helping me.
It set a nice atmosphere to have that music playing with slow motion side taunt.
Art of Zelda next?
and then Ganondorf afterwards?
oh and then dedede!
This is the weirdest way to do a guide, I love it, it's interesting and helpful.
Here's the timeframe, everyone!
0:23 Charged Shot (B)
2:32 Bomb (Down + B)
6:06 Missiles (Side (Smash) + B
7:51 Screw Attack (Up + B)
9:56 Ground Game
13:24 Aerials
18:39 Combo Game
21:55 Credits
"Homing missles are my harrassment tools"
good a someone not talking about the voice
This is really nice, thank you!
Despite what happened between you and another famous player out there the other day, i really hope to see more Link in the future! Thanks ^^
Umm... are you talking about the Link dittos match between him and Zero? How would that stop him from making more Link content?
Watching this again was definitely worth it. Very refreshing.
how are you able to change direction after the ledge trump at 0:50 ? i have been trying but i can't change direction in air. in the vid it looks like u trump, then push the stick down to get of the ledge then jump, then all the sudden samus turns to use her power shot?
Just subscribed. Your Link videos are invaluable.
This video was excellent.
+IzawSmash are you gonna do a guide for every character like this? I'd like to see a Villager one if you could someday, but hey, that's just an opinion, thanks for this guide! :D
+Rodnand - yes
+IzawSmash will you do one for zelda or ganon?
yea
Thank you for this, I needed something to start this complicated character.
holy hell this is my favorite video on youtube
Corruption title screen makes me sad. So many good tracks to pick from the series, and Smash is stuck with Brinstar from Metroid NES. Oh, come on, Nintendo!
You can also dash in place using a perfect pivot motion, but holding in one spot for a bit longer if you have the timing it should only take the time of turning around to do this into a grab
You helped me to be skilled at corrin and now you are most likely gonna help me with dark samus
5:43 why did Roy get his double jump back? We clearly saw him use it right before the up-b
I like how in the examples of combos inspired by Danish are on the exact same characters he did it on.
Also 11:05 "It won't lead to any true combos"
11:15 proceeds to show true combo
And I'm going to try pulling off 11:58.
Alongside 18:15.
This is so good! I might pick up Samus! Seems like a good character for learning how to react!
it was not untill about 13:10 that i realized that the girl speaking was supposed to be samus. that was awkward
"Once my charge is full, my enemy will be FORCED to RESPECT me." Wtf what are you aiming for, world domination?
REAL Samus strategies:
Power Suit Samus:
Never forget that you are armed to the teeth.
Zero Suit Samus:
Run.
The Gunship:
It's also very important to remember your gunship. This state-of-the-art ship can restock you on energy, missiles, and power bombs if needed, and can even defend itself. However, it's usually best to park it in a less accessible location so enemies can't wail on it, but also convenient enough to get to if you need to recharge.
this is very useful I just became a samus main yesterday because of the way I play I love the way she plays in smash its nice and smooth
Perfect guide! I'm really enjoying Samus since the last patch :)
I love the Voice being used!!!!
As a Samus is my main, I'm so happy right now. Nice video Izaw.
Great voice actor and well made guide
Can I ask why scara's credit is buried in the description and not at the start of the video like it should be
Izaw, You are truly Amazing. Nuff' Said.
Absolutely fantastic guide, subbed.
You sound like a master technician and it's terrifying.
11:06 "it won't lead into any true combos"
11:16 *does a true followup out of down tilt*
I Respect Mr.Izaw he's the best Thank you Mr.Izaw for this Art Of samus Vid I really Appreciate it because I'm a good samus main myself and I was waiting for a vid of what samus can do that's this good and you did it Thanks bro
That music during the combo part was so fitting, this character is DOOMSDAY now lmao
I think I would prefer if the voice was just a narrator talking in 3rd person. As it is now I find some parts kind of corny (mainly some of the lines in 1st person).
Can you explain how to reverse a chargeshot in the air?
Also I know I harped on the voice acting last time, its really not that bad, but the thing that urks me are the incorrect words, such as "regrab the ledge for *invisibility*"
instead of pressing b before flicking the stick in the opposite direction, press b after flicking the stick in the opposite direction
THANKS, BROOO.
OMG YOUR CONTENT IS AMAZING
Ooh, I like this. I've been trying to get good with Samus because she's fun to use. I knew of a couple of combos, but I like a lot of what I saw here. Time to hit the lab!
I finished this video just for the music, but great vid
@IzawSmash Can you tell us what the changes are between the last 1.1.4 video and this one?
+Diogo Ribeiro I removed some kill setups that don't work anymore, I also removed some things like short hop double up air etc. And then I added some things about the Neutral Air into the guide.
IzawSmash Ok. Thank you!
+IzawSmash Awsome! , and Samus is so kind to help you on her busy schedule. Thanks Samus too!😄😍
+IzawSmash That must be so annoying. Month of works, and suddenly, random patch
+Leska Ylegna If only he waited 3 days..
DUDE YOUR LINK AND SAMUS GIVE ME SO MUCH HOPE FOR MINE
If only all the art of smash videos were like this
How do you B reverse with Samus on this stupid ass 3DS thumb pad
Simple.
Play wii u. The master console
Joe Parker Or I just wait a month from August 23rd to get a New3DS that has a c-stick and extra buttons on the back.
OnlyThePurpleFruitLoops I'm mad late but you can't B-reverse her charge shot
JJ Diaz But the video says I can..
OnlyThePurpleFruitLoops You might be confusing a reverse with a B reverse. Izaw reversed the charge shot at the ledge in the video by double jumping back towards the stage then firing it. He didn't b-reverse
What to do if a cap falcon keeps kicking me in the air while im falling and he just spams it
Whats your source on the Shield stats presented at 2:24? Not doubting the information just curios on where you got it from. Thank you and have a nice day
Samus smashboards, there's a shield damage thread there
