When incepted, by the WRITER OF Dr. Strange during the GOLDEN ERA of Dr. Strange, Shuma Gorath was supposed to be the most Powerful Magical Evil being in Marvel, to stay true to the Lovecraft premise or Cosmic Horror: whatever you thought was the pinnacle, your Gods, your beliefs, are shown to be negligble dust in the presence of these beings of extra-dimensional (higher dimension, not pocket dimension) existence. To put simply, Shuma Gorath, the greatest of the Many Angled Ones in Marvel, with all Many Angled Ones supposed to be greater than, shown as ">", whatever you believed the greatest was. Not just marginally, either. The contrast of this divide, and the visage of these beings, enough to drive people to insanity or suicide.
Another fact when Silver Surfer was his herald. Norrin Radd made a deal with Galactus to only seek out planets with no life or the world was about to be destroyed. In fact I wish the Silver Surfer animated series continued.

The plot was basically non existent, most of the characters were completely pointless, the jokes were so terrible and forced it was painful to watch, most of the scenes were pointless as well, the movie was overcrowded, it looked like shit, the cgi and color palette, and so much more. The movie is an embarrassment to the dceu.
