It actually makes sense for them to be bigger than a normal Strider. Animals that live in cold areas usually develop thicker skin and drop their metabolism to save up energy which results to excess fat.
Tutorial aside (though it was very good) I like your approach on Minecraft modding by making the mob serve the practical purpose of teaching players about powdered snow. Very thoughtful design
I downloaded and installed geckolib plugin, but animated entity doesn't show up. I only have living entity, but that already was there before geckolib (mccreator 2023.4)
Glad to have found an up-to-date tutorial, do you know if it's possible to have two different idles under certain conditions? been struggling for a while :(
@@Linkyplayz username is someguywithwifi, right now I just have a variable determine if the entity is in a deactivated state, and give it two different animations work if its active or not

Like, you dont even need to know how to proggram, and you just add it to the game selecting these stuff just like on the video, but using GeckoLib is that it? Or you messed around with that before starting the video? If is that the case so wow, it is very simple with GeckoLib

Hey great tutorial! Just need a bit of help. I followed it entirely with putting in an iceologer model and animations I made and for some reason it just has no animations in-game. Head movement works fine, but I've triple-checked I've put in the right animation names into each slot and enabled the ones I want. But every one I spawn will just slide across the ground towards me. What's the issue?
one more question; how did you make that blinking animation? I switched to forge to be able to add my mob and I too made a variant of the strider; a 2 seat mutant strider. I'd really like to add blinking to my animation so it seems less bland.

That used to happen with me too, I think it was because a file was in the wrong place, but Geckolib works differently now… so idk

you have to animate the texture by giving it more frames. There's tutorials for it everywhere
