I started training muay thai a couple weeks ago and my own gear just came in today. I've been looking for videos on gear maintenance and how to keep the smell out and this was by far the most helpful, you explained everything well and clear. Thank you!!
I have +15 year old twins gloves that are still in pretty good shape but dry stuff keeps appearing on the inside, perhaps the insides are breaking into dust due to old age, Ive tried hoovering and wiping them out but can't seem to get rid of it all.
I have a pair of cleto reyes. Can i clean them inside and out with antibacterial wipes (CIF/ Clorox)? I get rid of germs first then after I apply vaseline or leather conditioner on the outside. Let me know if you think it is okay
I used them for a while! They work pretty good but I would say at most 10-20 minutes depending on how soaked your gloves are. They can make the lining rough
What about to use a „shoe dryer“? I wipe my gloves with desinfect wet towels, then put it on the shoe dryer for 15minutes. Also good for leather or not?
See I get asked that all the time and I have never put too much thought into it unfortunately. I'd like to think its because I clean the leather under it but I don't know
So for gloves made of polyurethane leather we should do this? 1. Dry off gear with a cloth 2. Wipe down with a lyson wipe 3. spray lysol on velcro, deep inside glove, and any other cloth portions 4. place dryer sheet inside glove, close velcro My concern with #2 and #3 - won't the glove then be damp and still mix with residue sweat / bacteria that remains after doing #1? Thanks!
Your concern makes sense but the use of the Lysol and other antibacterial wipes will eliminate the bacteria, thus after step 1 anything that’s left bacteria wise will be killed with/by the wipes and Lysol. Also by leaving it open and letting it air dry will create the opposite environment that bacteria usually thrive in so.

I get rid of germs first then after I apply vaseline or leather conditioner on the outside. Let me know if you think it is okay. How often do you have to moisturize them? Like once a week or after each training session
I have the T3 gloves Hyabusa recommended to me to wipe with damp cloth every use. And few times a month use water and rubbing alcohol mixed in spray bottle to clean inside of gloves. But you say it is a disservice why would they say that and why do all manufactures of gloves have different recommended maintenance?
Yo what's up man nice video! Was wondering if theres anything different you do to keep the Reyes screen printed logo from fading? Does it matter if the lysol wipes go over it?
See that is a mixed answer! Lysol won't bother the logo at least with my experience but the logo for most people is a hit and miss unfortunately! Sometimes it fades and sometimes it don't!
Would it be fine if I were to just use disinfectant wipes instead of the leather wipes for leather? I have a pair of synthetic leather gloves, they’re the Powerlock. But I’m asking about the leather because I have a pair of Cleto and am about to get a pair of winning like gloves that are leather. I don’t have leather wipes so I really want to know, will it mess it up or is it fine to use
Very good question! The answer is no. The leather underneath itself was painted by the metallic finish so the leather will work fine. It will just look dull and drab compared to before!
Non alcoholic baby wipes some tube socks febreeze and if you have some spare hand lotion Shea butter does the trick for me I've done this on Twins Reyes Rivals Winnings Isami Venum and Torres Medina gloves which range from genuine leather to synthetic even composite leather. Cold water and baby soap also with a hand towel to wipe the gloves down if it's dirtier than usual. And yes metallic leather is the worse to clean.

Lysol drys leather.
Proofide is the best leather conditioner I have found.
Great video, chose this one to watch after I saw your collection and interest
Thank you very much for your good advice. Very helpful.
Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear it!

Dude, top tier video. Subscribed.
You are awesome my dude! Thank you! I'll subscribe back!
Spit shine boxing gloves? I wouldn’t want to spar those guy’s 😂.
Lol
Thank you so much !
I didn’t know how to do it, you are the best !

Cheap boot dryer from Amazon and a disinfectant spray can. That’s all I use and works great!.
What’s your take on using the boot dryer? How long to use it and any recommended temperature?
I used them for a while! They work pretty good but I would say at most 10-20 minutes depending on how soaked your gloves are. They can make the lining rough
Hey! I just bought some cleto Reyes! You use the leather gel on your clero Reyes too?

Thank you for the info brother , great video 🙏🏼
First! Good video. I’m going to start doing this. Thanks.
I hope it works out for you like it has for me!
Good work brother!
Thank you sir!
How do you preserved the cleto logo tho. , its so easy to get peeeld off
See I get asked that all the time and I have never put too much thought into it unfortunately. I'd like to think its because I clean the leather under it but I don't know
Do you recommend doing this after every training session? or like every week? (mainly genuine leather gloves) thanks
Do it at least twice a week if you train 4-5 days. If you train all week I’d say every other day.

1. Dry off gear with a cloth
2. Wipe down with a lyson wipe

Could you clean the genuine leather ones with the leather care wipes and leather care gell only
Absolutely! I just like killing the germs for risk of ringworm and staph infection!

@@combat_corp awesome thank you still! I'll do it anyway haha
And another question I have is if you can clean them with Clorox disinfecting wipes
I have done that and it seems to keep them just fine!
After doing this, how long do I have to wait until I train with them?
Just saw your insta message! Hope that reaponse helped. I usually wait for the glove to completely dry before using them again!

@@youshootiscoreishootyousco7594 I honestly can’t remember, it’s been so long!🤣
Great video very helpful greatly appreciated👍🏾
So do I wait a day after usage to clean the glove?
Nope! Wait for them to be dry! That could take up to an hour or so!
Thee Combat Corporation thank you, Love the channel btw!
What happens when the metallic finish comes off does it effect the gloves functionality at all ?
Very good question! The answer is no. The leather underneath itself was painted by the metallic finish so the leather will work fine. It will just look dull and drab compared to before!
How come you didn’t wipe down the inside of the glove where the hands are?
The spray takes care of the inside of the glove! But you can wipe it down if you'd like
@@combat_corp should the inside of glove be dry before i use spray or clean it with wipes?
can i use petroleum jelly to condition the leather?
how do you clean your Winning Gloves?
Winning gloves are guinuine leather so just do the same as you would with Cleto Reyes, Grant, etc
Evan Samano hmm 🤔 I own a pair of Cleto Reyes and it came with a card in each glove on how to clean them. Thanks bro I’ll follow the card!
J D no problem brotha
Thanks for this video 😁
Bro
Can i use that to my twins BGVL3?
What if PU Leather?
So helpful
What leather does venum elite gloves has?
Most Venum gloves will use a napa leather

that mr clean head
Couldn’t you just use one of those no stink deodoriser things instead of cleaning out the inside?
Never mind found it 🤣
I replied to your comment with the link as well! So happy you found it!
Do you like to use muay Thai gloves for boxing training and sparring
I do! I really like Twins for a boxing glove as well as Triumph United gloves. Also, Windy make really great thai gloves that work great for boxing
@@combat_corp would you recommend Yokkao Muay Thai gloves?
@@finszonettv absolutely!
@@combat_corp thanks bro. You’re the man. Love your videos #sub
Vinegar glove🤣
I put my apex in the washing machine and immediately to dry on a commercial heavy duty fan 😂 idk if I’m messing up 💀
If your gloves are fake leather, your gloves are going to do just fine.
