    Younger guy (30) with a 2005 gl1800 here in the UK. Whilst I love my goldwing, it is a real handful at low speeds compared to my other bikes. If you cant stop with the front wheel straight you're in real trouble (tight turns, parking lots, drivers stopping suddenly in front of you). It forces you to be a better rider and anticipate the actions of others.

    I bought my first goldwing at the young ripe age of 27. I’ve loved every second of it! It eats up the miles like nothing. Thanks for making this video.

      You gotta check this guys channel. He’s 29 and totally into the Gold Wing. Rides it like he stole it. His channel is fun and adventure filled. Nice job out there F6B Adventure!

    I just bought me a 1986 Gl 1200 interstate. The gold wing is the best motorcycle ever manufactured in the history of motorcycle manufacturing.

    So I got my first 2010 Goldwing about five years ago from a brother of a close friend that had passed away. He offered to me at a pretty good price and I wasn’t really interested in it, but I figured from the sentimental value point of view, I would get it and bring it out to my second home out in Colorado. Well, it never left my home state Florida because I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved it so much that I end up buying another 2010 Goldwing that only had 6300 miles on it and I leave that one in Colorado. Goldwing is a fantastic bike with very little maintenance issues.

    I'm 54 and just bought my first Wing last summer. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner!! I've had tons of other makes and models but none compare in nearly all categories. I had a friend that made fun of me for getting my geezer wheels when I bought it. Guess what he just bought, yup, you guessed it, a wing for himself. He sure did eat his words. LOL 🤣🤣Anyone that thinks they are no fun hasn't ridden one yet. It's fun to watch their faces when they return from riding one for the first time. 😛👍

    I just bought a 2003 GoldWing, here in Brazil, with 65k miles. I went to pick it up 500 km from my house and arrived driving the motorcycle.
    I previously had a Harley Ultra Classic and found the GoldWing to be very smooth and quiet.
    I appreciate your explanations and you have gained an enthusiastic subscriber.

    I have a 2003 Goldwing with a 163K miles on it. I bought it new and have had five other motorcycles mainly Harley's while I've had the Goldwing. The Wing has always been my main bike. I have always loved my harleys and my gold wing and never compare the 2 because they are two completely different bikes, and have always liked each 1 for what it is. However, truth be told, my latest Harley, a 2014 Ultra Limited that I bought in October 2023 is more comfortable in the seating position than the Wing for me. The best way I can describe it is that when I ride the Goldwing I feel like I am "on" the bike, but when I ride the Harley, I feel like I am "in" the bike, and that is a much more comfortable riding position for me.
    To be perfectly honest with you, I did the 1K iron butt ride on my Wing in 2005. I could easily do it comfortably on this Harley.
    In conclusion, I will say that the Wing is a far more technologically advanced bike than my Harley no doubt. But at this stage of my life, as a full-time RV traveler with a motorcycle, I enjoy a slower cruise and the comfortable sitting position of the Harley more. Also, I found myself racing the Wing around the turns and always going fast on the Wing.....which I don't need to do that anymore.

    The Wing is top of the line. Young people have noooo idea what they are missing. Great video D2. We both have a 2015 wing and just completed 367 days on the road. We wouldn't attempt this with any other bike. Both bikes are approaching 200k miles. Rich purchased his new, from the dealer in 2016. Kake purchased her F6b in 2017 from an HD dealer, with only 200 miles on it. We love our bikes.

    Solid information D2. Agree on all points. I was 28 when I purchased a brand new 82 two tone burgundy GL1200 Interstate. Years later a new 96 Pearl white GL1500 SE. Today a new 22 an ultra blue DCT airbag. Gold Wings are Kings. Nice job D2! Keep that excitement. It’s inspiring.

    At 71 I have gotten the GW bug, however, I'm wanting to buy a trike, now the age that I'm at and not all that stout in the legs any more I feel I would have trouble holding a bike up where as the trike I don't have to worry myself with that and enjoy the ride. I've just been watching GoldWing videos all over TH-cam; sadly their isn't alot of people out there that own the GW trike that makes videos. Enjoyed your video, sub'ed and liked, motor safe. 🏍

    I ride a 22 HD Street Glide and I can tell you that Goldwing is a very well made bike. That being said it has no soul and its not fast at all. very unsteady at slow riding. still, it is a comfortable bike.

    Video summary: Plenty of speed/power, good on trips, has cruise control, has relaxing highway foot position, low center of gravity, repeat
    Would have been cool to hear about other things like storage and how you back up/lift a 900lb beast like that

    How does the 2002 handle ethonol added fuel?

    • @adamcondon5115
      @adamcondon5115 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No difference at all in how the engine performs, however, I wouldn't recommend storing the bike for winter and such with ethanol fuel. Last couple tankfuls before storage I fill with ethanol-free gas. I usually buy ethanol-free during riding season but sometimes it's not available at some stations. Like I said though, it runs it just fine.

    • @garyedwards8142
      @garyedwards8142 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I own an 02. I avoid ethanol at all costs…might run ok short term, but long term it will destroy plastic components inside…..be warned…👍🇬🇧

    • @d2destinations106
      @d2destinations106  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No problem. However if storing, use non-ethanol while in storage.
