I would have liked to have seen stem separation inside the sampler, like Serato. This would not only work with chops/slices but also not force us to make 4 stems when we might just need to turn off drums for example... With always 4 I am forced to slice things 3 times, or resample 3 stems into another Pad, ya-da-ya-da.... The Sampler should really be #1 prio imo.😅
i already have maschine 2, how do i keep that and install upgrade to 3, but in case i do not like it or my pc craps out how do i still get to use the version 2 ?
I m not sure why, but when I try to use external libraries native on kontakt 7 (as action strings 2 and more) in Maschine mk3 are not working.... maybe I need to reinstall maschine software or this happens even to others?
Just make sure to install every update for Kontakt, Maschine and the particular libraries that you see in Native Access. Most of the time this solves the problem.
This is a modest update and the price is not extortionate in my view. I don’t really care for stem separation. It seems a bit of a gimmick. The new midi editing features seem limited to the computer GUI so won’t be available on M+…. As someone who composes with vocals and real instruments, I would have liked NI to address Maschine’s shortcomings for the recording and arrangement of real instruments and vocals on audio tracks. The lack of Maschine integration on the Mk3 keyboards remains a bizarre decision by NI and even in this update there still isn’t much. So the Mk3 keyboard is never going to be for me. Maschine is really great, but for what I do, the MPC platform seems increasingly attractive, now that MPC 3 is on the horizon…
@ Yes. I have Ableton, and it certainly would be better for instruments but having to use a mouse and computer keyboard just totally kills the vibe for me. Every time I want to adjust a sound, create a clip/pattern, add a track, I need to move my focus to a mouse, screen and computer keyboard and I just hate it :-) That’s why I love Maschine so much. It’s really the most frictionless platform on the planet. Just a pity that I can’t find a fluid way to integrate “normal” audio tracks.
it should have been free for existing users. Other than the DAW sync that should have been there for ages, there is nothing of substance (for me) in this ... nothing that actually wants to make me use it more (or again). The ONE THING most people wanted was a re-sizeable GUI (and thought they might be getting based on NI's "feature list") and no bueno there. If that had been included and implemented well, it would have been worth it ...
Here is another point. The old Komplete Kontrol MK2 has 2 screens, The new S Series has one screen.I don't think NI would release a Maschine Mk4 if it didn't have one screen.
Not impressed, sadly. I wish they would just say they don’t care about Maschine and just make it open source or something that way people with more passion can drive it further
@ unfortunately my 2015 iMac won’t update past Monterey so I’d have to upgrade my whole rig, I’m not as serious about producing these days so I can’t justify it, bummer
Gutted as I was hoping that the aftertouch would finally work. Does not make sense that the keyboards they sell have aftertouch and the software does not support. I just bought to see if it would work and I am very disapointed
It's not a feature packed upgrade, but its ok. Stem separation is awesome to have - even if purely to shut the mouths of boastful MPC bros 😊 I'll wait for the M+ compatibility, and upgrade with the new Maschine Central pack. I think the price is actually very reasonable, much cheaper than I was expecting! Anyway, it's great to finally see some advancement of Maschine - its still one of the best grooveboxes on the market. I can't complain 😁
Its unfortunate. While this is a great update, it still misses on the mark. The arrangement still feels very restrictive. I wish the arrangement view allows users to load samples directly into the window and click and drag the sounds or samples freely in any timeframe of the song. (similarly to ableton or fl studio arrangement view). Another thing is having a group within groups...being able to group certain pads and affect those pads within the same group without having to route the audio to another pad or new group would be game changer. Thirdly, the automation feature would be better if it had clickable nodes that lets you control the shape of the automation...rather than drawing it in or recording the performance. All these are easily attainable and I dont understand why NI keeps falling behind to other DAWS when it has the capacity to be competitive as a viable well rounded software. Its
I think Maschine 4 is around the corner. The basic integration for the new S Series tells the whole story. Think about it, they released Machine 3 software but there's no hardware to fully use it's full capabilities with. Why? Imagine Windows 11 without a PC .🤷🏾♂
What cant Maschine MK3 do to fully use its capabilities? Stem separation is done by your PC, its not going to ported over to Maschine Plus, it simply does not have the processing power. Also yes, NI reps over at the Maschine forum have confirmed repeatedly that there is no new Maschine hardware on the horizon. They havent fully maxed out the use of the MK3 yet with those glorious screens, theres a ton they could do buuut they wont cause they are NI and we still dont even have automation editing or a sampler with timestretch lmao
It doesn't matter how good NI products are; customer support CAN NOT BE CONTACTED! No EMAIL, NO PHONE, and Chat is hardly managed. So if you have a problem like I do what the hell do you do?
Dont get why they didnt update the maschine + on standalone. Cause they promised a update for maschine + for a long time and now they come with a maschine 3.0software and 0 use case.... and dont get why as a maschine + user on the standalone side that i should pay for the 3.0... just give the damn software for the plus users... and some features you can go back and forth with project on from stand alone to controller mode with your projects... there are soo many things they should have added... software disappointing.. no maschine+update disappointing... paying for this is really disappointing...
Nothing really compelling if you already have a DAW. I use Logic 11 which has Stems and a load of other options. For $29 it’s not bad but realistically they shouldn't be charging for this. I’ll probably wait.
10 yuears for a gui update and literally just ripping the stems function off Izotope RX11, of which they own now. It's only 29 dollars, so there's that, but it should never have been called Maschine 3.0. this is 2.5 at best. No automation fixes, no better daw integration. IMPORT MP3!? wow 2010 is calling. This is embarassing in my opinion. Where is full randomization of kits and/or parameters, it's 2024. This is why I use XLN Audio XO exclusively, Maschine is now behind.
I'm sorry but the stem separation was trash 😂 might as well just use fadr and just sample from there. Feel like they just added it there without any science behind it just to shut us up since every other Daw has the function.. I really need to do some thinking b4 I put any money into this when it should’ve been free
They're going to do new hardware. Everything's discounted now. Kind of want to pick up a mikro if the pads are as good as on my studio. I'll hold out for the next generation hardware and get back into maschine if they put actual effort into 3.0. They really are focused on making trash plugins that are easy to churn out that I guess normies can't stop eating up.
Matthew from the Maschine product team has stated that no new Maschine hardware is coming soon. I covered this in my last video. They do this sale every year for the past 2-3 years. Can you recommend me some "non-normie plugins"?
Not worth it at all. I’ve lost features. And all the “new” features have had work arounds for 10 years. Kontrol s mk1 is nothing more than a lit up keybed and the lights don’t indicate anything at all. 😂 NI is cooked. Akai has lapped them.
Hell yeah I'm gonna upgrade! You my Brother and NI have made my day! With the election and the future of our country I wasn't too sure. But after doing my assessment of life I'm more optimistic that will be alright will see thank you. Maybe it's time for a new way of thinking is the way I'm looking at it!😂 And your right about the console Wars being really stupid! If your an Artist your weapon of choice doesn't matter just make good music. I've been with NI since the first Maschine and then I had a MPC 1000 Now I have a Maschine Plus, MPC One Plus a SP404MK2 and a Ableton Move. Each piece of gear gives me a different way to groove. Just do what's good for you. We also have content creators that hate on specific brands because of there personnel preference. Don't believe the hype especially when you see what they use and probably get free gear or get paid to hype. Music is the key to life enjoy it and only subscribe to positive people like this Brother! Have a great day Fam!😎
missing daw-intagration sucks since 9 years...internal daw sucks to...havn`t find a way to use that maschine in any song i have made (in cubase)...just sitting on the table and look nice is not enought...since 2023 my two keyboards (komplete kontrol s61 and s25 mk1) have no support from native instruments, so they don`t work with komplete kontrol any more...spent hundrets of euros for nothing...native instruments sucks...never again!
How can one call it "major" or even "update"... It's a marketing lie! The gui is almost the same just black, the midi function just for the mouse should have been there since day one, stem separation a late gimmic, real integration with Ni keyboards missing and at the end death for "older" hardware from ni. And all of that after asking the community for around half a year.. Maschine misses so many things meanwhile, that a real major update should have a serious long list of added features but we see.... this. No honesty left.
I knew this was gonna happen in the comments. This was one of the reasons I was waiting to see what the community would say. Great vid as usual LH. Blessings! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💯
It is what it is. I wouldn't go as far as calling it trash, especially for the modest price, but it's understandable that people were expecting more from a 3.0.
@@LowHeatBeatsyo low heat….I downloaded 3.0 today and my kits won’t load….can audition sounds and see all my expansions in the tabs etc…but they won’t load? Any insight

It’s a slap in the face to Maschine owners to require them to pay for this . This should be an update .
Is the Maschine 3 just a software update? Or do you get any new new kits and sounds with it?
Watch the video
Can you confirm if you can chop samples with a keyboard without the Maschine hardware?
You can do it with the mouse for sure.
@ I wish there was a demo I can try before I buy, but I’ll rather get serato sample.
i already have maschine 2, how do i keep that and install upgrade to 3, but in case i do not like it or my pc craps out how do i still get to use the version 2 ?
It's a separate application, Maschine 2 should be unaffected when you install v3.
@@LowHeatBeats Many thanks bro !
can you use an external conroller with v 3?
You can.
That's totally fair. Have you considered a DAW like Ableton Live though? It would be way better than MPC for recording instruments.
@ Yes. I have Ableton, and it certainly would be better for instruments but having to use a mouse and computer keyboard just totally kills the vibe for me. Every time I want to adjust a sound, create a clip/pattern, add a track, I need to move my focus to a mouse, screen and computer keyboard and I just hate it :-)
That’s why I love Maschine so much. It’s really the most frictionless platform on the planet. Just a pity that I can’t find a fluid way to integrate “normal” audio tracks.
So underwhelming for a version upgrade. Looking forward to a few updates from now when there’s more improvements
it should have been free for existing users.
No QoL changes afaics
is it work with old mk2 ?
Nope, if you use an MK2, just stay on Maschine 2 for now.
@LowHeatBeats Thanks for replying, I'm using serato sampel anyway, I was hoping for more, I'm not really impressed with this update.
Not impressed, sadly. I wish they would just say they don’t care about Maschine and just make it open source or something that way people with more passion can drive it further
$29 is a no-brainer upgrade even if the new features are underwhelming but again not trying to be a DAW and NEVER will
Ventura and later?? Waaaaackkk
Yeah, I wanted to stay on Monterey as long as possible but had to upgrade to run Maschine 3.
@ unfortunately my 2015 iMac won’t update past Monterey so I’d have to upgrade my whole rig, I’m not as serious about producing these days so I can’t justify it, bummer
Ok I tried it and indeed it makes no difference, anything except whats mentioned is exactly the same
no workflow improvements
Yup
Gutted as I was hoping that the aftertouch would finally work. Does not make sense that the keyboards they sell have aftertouch and the software does not support. I just bought to see if it would work and I am very disapointed
It's not a feature packed upgrade, but its ok. Stem separation is awesome to have - even if purely to shut the mouths of boastful MPC bros 😊
I'll wait for the M+ compatibility, and upgrade with the new Maschine Central pack.
Not sure if you saw my last video but according to one of the devs from the Maschine team, no new Maschine hardware is coming any time soon.
Not even Fullscreen mode? And they advertise it as standalone/mouse-friendly 🤦
I vaguely remember seeing something about a problem with full screen on Windows. For me on Mac full screen works fine.
A 29 dollar upgrade ain’t bad 👀
And still you cannot Change Patterns in a synced way! =O
Yeah, I'd just Ableton Live if I wanted to do this.
May I ask what Screen you are using in your studio :-)
Asus ProArt 27 inch 1440p
@@LowHeatBeats thanks :-) damn just saw that I cannot run the new software in Big sur
Basically you get a new expansion for £25... Good deal. But certainly I would not call this Maschine 3...
Rip n.i
its such a small, underwhelming update, why would you want to ask for more money?
Because it’s garbage?? Because it shouldn’t even be a paid “update”?
right? glad I just switched to akai. bye NI
This update is so wack it should've been a free update.
Bruh this is why I packed up my Maschine and put it in the storage drawer a long time ago. I figured this update would be buns.
Facts
This is why I use XLN Audio XO exclusively, Maschine is now behind.
well said
I'm sorry but the stem separation was trash 😂 might as well just use fadr and just sample from there. Feel like they just added it there without any science behind it just to shut us up since every other Daw has the function.. I really need to do some thinking b4 I put any money into this when it should’ve been free
Big trash!! What’s going on with NI ??
They're going to do new hardware. Everything's discounted now. Kind of want to pick up a mikro if the pads are as good as on my studio. I'll hold out for the next generation hardware and get back into maschine if they put actual effort into 3.0. They really are focused on making trash plugins that are easy to churn out that I guess normies can't stop eating up.
Matthew from the Maschine product team has stated that no new Maschine hardware is coming soon. I covered this in my last video. They do this sale every year for the past 2-3 years. Can you recommend me some "non-normie plugins"?
@LowHeatBeats yeah anything that's not kumplete output and anything else shilltubers dickride
You can’t export mp3 🤷🏾♂️🤣
Not yet, but now that we can import them, I guess export might come soon.
Not worth it when NI stops making drivers for their hardware even soundcards that work perfectly fine, no thanks for forced upgrades.
Damn as a xbox fan I feel offended at the end lol ( jk)
lmaooooo
Not worth it at all. I’ve lost features. And all the “new” features have had work arounds for 10 years. Kontrol s mk1 is nothing more than a lit up keybed and the lights don’t indicate anything at all. 😂 NI is cooked. Akai has lapped them.
Hell yeah I'm gonna upgrade!
You my Brother and NI have made my day! With the election and the future of our country I wasn't too sure. But after doing my assessment of life I'm more optimistic that will be alright will see thank you.
Maybe it's time for a new way of thinking is the way I'm looking at it!😂
And your right about the console Wars being really stupid! If your an Artist your weapon of choice doesn't matter just make good music.
I've been with NI since the first Maschine and then I had a MPC 1000
Now I have a Maschine Plus, MPC One Plus a SP404MK2 and a Ableton Move.
Thanks fam, appreciate your positivity and kind words!
missing daw-intagration sucks since 9 years...internal daw sucks to...havn`t find a way to use that maschine in any song i have made (in cubase)...just sitting on the table and look nice is not enought...since 2023 my two keyboards (komplete kontrol s61 and s25 mk1) have no support from native instruments, so they don`t work with komplete kontrol any more...spent hundrets of euros for nothing...native instruments sucks...never again!
Oh i forgot to say bounce in place was almost there with drag n drop..
I hate to say it but this update is TRASH bro!
@@PULSEMusicGroup Thanks man, appreciate you stopping by!
@@LowHeatBeatsyo low heat….I downloaded 3.0 today and my kits won’t load….can audition sounds and see all my expansions in the tabs etc…but they won’t load? Any insight
For $30 just to get native stem separation is nice but then again it’s probably depending on what kind of device your using and how fast it will take etc but I think it’s worth it then using a free internet stem app
…because they added almost nothing
This upgrade is a joke.... Sorry.. But probably the worst software version since.... Arturia Spark2... But that's Ok .. I wasn't expecting anything good from NI... I had to wait year for my Kontrol MK3 to have a the ability to create midi templates...
It should be free...it's cheap because it is terrible...lazy effort by NI....they are the absolute worst...they should be ashamed of themselves...shut down the entire company and stop ripping people off...every other company in the world has NI beat by miles and miles and miles...I can't stress enough that no serious musician should ever invest in NI...terrible sound quality compared to akai, roland, etc.....NOT EVEN CLOSE..DO NOT BUY...DO NOT BUY...I just saved your life and your music
Cause its trash. That's why.
Damn those stems sound kinda wack AF
Not great sounding but we have to compare the exact same sample on other platforms to be able to judge.
@@LowHeatBeats Yeah , agreed . i'm deffo happy to have the tech available in Maschine regardless !
@@LowHeatBeats vocal sounded ok to me , not so sure about the ' other parts' though, stem sep may be good for dj edits though of old dance tracks ?
