Die Band aus London lässt sich bei ihrem Schaffen von englischer Folklore, mystischer Natur, Hexerei, Vampir-Geschichten und Horrorfilmen inspirieren. Zwischen Psychedelic Rock, Stoner Rock und Heavy Rock klingen Green Lung dabei so doomig und düster, als würden sie ihren Jahresurlaub gerne auf diversen Friedhöfen dieser Welt verbringen.
Ihre Einflüsse sind vielfältig, und ihr Wille zum Experimentieren ist ausgeprägt. Green Lung, gegründet 2017 in London, haben ein Faible für Riffs, wie sie stilprägende Rockbands der späten 1960er- und früher 1970er-Jahre gespielt haben. Soll heißen: Poster von Black Sabbath und Deep Purple haben auf jeden Fall einen Ehrenplatz im Proberaum von Green Lung. Von dieser Runde auf dem Nostalgie-Karussell abgesehen, haben die Musiker um Sänger Tom Templar ein Händchen dafür, eingängige Songs zu schreiben, die kraftvoll und episch daherkommen, aber nie überladen wirken.
„Leaders Of The Blind“ vom Album „Black Harvest“ besticht durch tonnenschwere Riffs und die mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert ausgestattete, rasiermesserscharfe Stimme von Templar - während in einer doomigen Ballade vom selben Tonträger gekonnt zarter Folk und harte Gitarrenmusik kombiniert werden. „Graveyard Sun“ klingt, als würden Green Lung ihren Jahresurlaub gern auf diversen Friedhöfen dieser Welt verbringen - und sich dabei null gruseln, sondern prächtig erholen.

This is the best live band from the UK in 2023
Saw them open for clutch, they're my favourite band in forever. I hope they keep doing amazing after black harvest, one of my favourite albums of all time

Vocals are way too loud compared everything else but it's nice to have high quality footage of them

It's called a song, the instruments are meant to occompany the vocals, not over power it. Their style is this way. Not the type that the vocals are secondary like a lot of doom metal nowadays

Doesn't matter if it's perfect singing. it's perfect for green lung. It's a band.
Not to mention. It's very common for singing in live performances to be absolutely awful these days. So often bands can't come close to reproducing whatever is they did in the studio. With green Lung they perform flawlessly, although, stripped down, because I don't think they use any backing tracks and they don't have any backing musicians.

It's honest, in your face, just like the Prince of Darkness Ozzy and the generations of other singers and musicians that spawned from Sabbath.
Like Sleep, Cathedral and Sheavy, three good examples where the singers aren't trained or refined.
But they have that something, it comes from the gut and the heart.
It's all about the feeling, singing on top following the riff and the staying in the groove.
Tom (the vocalist) said in an interview that he couldn't hear himself clearly during this performance due to some technical issues
I hope this band considers a new singer in the future. Vocals show struggles and a bit whiney for a much too powerful doom n gloom sound. The music is fantastic but also got tired of hearing every song talk about Lucifer and hocus pokus demons in leaves.
