Having enjoyed Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and sunked hundreds of hours on Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, I have been closely watching Larian Studio's Baldur's Gate 3's development. I have been so hyped then that the game has been getting rave reviews all around! Here's my first time reaction listening to some songs from the Baldur's Gate 3 soundtrack including "Weeping Dawn", "Nightsong" and "Twisted Force".

Just uploaded my own cover of Weeping Dawn, symphonic metal style! Watch it now: th-cam.com/video/Yz66UMQFbI0/w-d-xo.html
The Nightsong plays at a super beautiful and emotional scene, its just perfection.
I have just reached that part of the game, absolute perfection.
@@LionmightOfficial Something wrong with me. Just listening to it here in your vid, makes me teary eyed. lol.
Music is magical.
@@LionmightOfficial oh you play the game too? i cried a little when first saw that scene
@@LionmightOfficial Here is the scene this music goes with th-cam.com/video/xUPTgI-756Y/w-d-xo.html starting at ~03:32 for Nightsong
When Twisted Force plays you know youre in for a fight and actually have to sit up 😂
Everything is allowed. Nothing is to be excluded.
may i add "shit just got serious" music?
Twisted Force is my fave track
Don't forget Sixteen Strikes! Although it plays when you defeat an enemy.
Barrelmancy time
The Weeping Dawn was the last song my partner played before he passed away. It seemed perfect that it will always remind me of our 26 years of friendship.
That's intense.
Aw man I cried reading your comment, I hope you're okay...
My condolences, I hope it will remain a beautiful reminder.
Thank you all. It's been tough, but I have support.
🤩
twisted force is such a piece, so oppressive and ominous, completely in love
Truly. It actually reminds me of the feel I got the first time the halo battle music played. Just much darker/ominous. One part scared, one part pumped, but I don't think I can think of another piece that made me have THAT type of feel.
It's also interesting to note how The Weeping Dawn and Harpy Song have similar notes. The bard is composing her song in an area nearby to the harpies, and they probably mimic her notes in their singing.
Can't believe I finally found someone who feels music as intensely as I do. It fills me with so much emotion that it feels like my small human body can't contain it. It was wonderful to watch you experience these emotions. The pleasure you feel is almost palpable.
I feel the same way! No shame in admitting I've cried to a majority of Baldurs Gate Songs lmao
I cry to a majority of them every time I hear them. They touch my soul and my heart in a way that few things do.@@wlpxx7
Twisted Force literally plays whenever Larian has an encounter that's going to be monsters or hard. Same with Legacy of Bhaal
Nightsong is practically a religious experience when played with the scene its from
considering you're freeing a child of a god, possessed of a shard of divinity, it's not too far off FROM a religious experience
plus, being a sapphic myself, to find out later she's a lesbian and reunites with her lost love, this song means so much to me
I’m late to the bg3 bandwagon, but I somehow managed to avoid spoilers, and seeing Aylin and Isobel reunite was such a moment, it’s so raw and pure
I just love Twisted Force. Probably the one piece of music in the game that I listen to at least once or twice every day, beyond hearing it when I play the game a bunch too lol
The entire scene with Alfira was so powerful, the sentiment of Weeping Dawn, that lost potential to give back to those who provided for you, it's not something touched on often in media and hit me like a punch to the gut.
I love your wide-eyed expressions at the start of the songs. Because that's exactly how I reacted and felt when hearing them in-game. 😆
Your wonderful facial expressions here are giving me almost as much positive energy as the music itself :D Very valuable commentary imo
Wow, thank you!
110% agree with this. I love how your depiction of what you think the song is depicting is so accurate to the scene they're playing in.
Just watching his eyes get huge as he really TAKES IN the music is so fun and makes me giggle.
The best thing about the combat songs in this game is that there are heroic versions that the music can transition to when you defeat an enemy, turning the tide of battle in your favor. Look up Enemy Down, you won't be disappointed.
Twisted Force has a real vibe of 'you dun goof'd, now pay the price' to it.
Hi SPG! The Weeping Down knocked me out! It's INCREDIBLE! It's so harmonious, so sweet, it really brings out the fantasy world in which the game is set. The song reminds me of a tale told to children, like an old legend guiding the hero and his companions to a treasure.
For Nightsong, it makes me imagine that our heroes arrive in a town that has been struck by a strange disease, and that our heroes are motivated to want to save it and restore it to its former glory.
Wow, for Twisted Force, I wasn't expecting that! The piece makes me imagine a fairly important fight to advance the story, the boss would have several combat phases.
And an excellent video as always!
Nightsong reminding you of restoring something to its former glory is super accurate
@lewd2851 Not to mention, they literally described the plot of act 2 entirely, lol
jesus the harmony with twisted force and your violin sent chills
Weeping Dawn is such a beautiful song, the background sounds building up into an epic piece always gets me. Nightsong is also one of my favorites, very nice video as always :) Hope you've also started playing the game and are enjoying it!
twisted force for me conveys danger and confusion in battle. its perfect.
The end game of act 2 has to be one of my favorites.
The Nightsong, the Nightsong area, the fights, General Thorm. Just wow
I am DELIGHTED to see another reaction of yours. It's just wonderful seeing people enjoying the craft that goes into this music. 😄
I love your enthusiasm and passion for music. And parts when you play along withe song are always beautiful. There is still a lot of excellent music in Baldur's Gate 3. Hope to see more on your channel!
You’ve got the most wonderful smile my man. Lights up the room. I mean to give credit not come on.
I love watching your reactions. They seem genuine and appreciative from an informed/master position.
Also love your band music-wanted more of your violin!!
7.45 min thats part sounds so good!
I love what you add to the soundtrack so much!!! It's just pure fun listening to your additions, def something i always look forward to ♥♥
Yay, thank you so much!
I love how that central theme comes back in most of the music pieces - and how it can change character with the changes in instrumentation and key
The first time I saw the Night song scene I cried. The song still gives me chills and a weepy eye whenever I hear it after experiencing it❤
I come here for reactions and musical accompaniments. I have watched a majority of your back log since that first BG3 video and have tried to like and comment on all of them (only when I think the comment might be interesting) ... and yeah... I love the improvisation you do with your wonderful violin... and you're obviously as passionate about doing music as I am listening to it. So, thank you for your work and reactions!
I wrote this before I got to Twisted Force... and I actually like your accompaniment with it as much as if not more so than the song (and the song is INCREDIBLE!)
This channel was in my feed and I love when you add your own sound the musics! So cool! Subscribed!
i was waitng for house of hope. this one is certainly the one that surprises me the most during my playthrough and i m pretty sure you ll love it if you did not already heard it
Did you check Part 1?
GODS, I was doing fine and then the Nightsong started playing and I INSTANTLY choked up. I'm crying now
Weeping Dawn is by far the most beautiful song from the game, brings tears to my eyes everytime
When i first heard the nightsong in game, i was just in awe! Its just sooo, so beautiful and EPIC! It really fits the scene. Every time i listen to it, i just get goosebumps! Same for the harpy song and down by the river
Also your take on how you imagine what happens while hearing it is almost perfectly spot on👌🏻 love your explanations
I’ll be walking around, minding my business and I’ll just start singing “Down, down, down, by the river…” The Harpy’s song is beautiful as well.
BG3 music is just amazing. I just played the part where we meet Alfira two days ago and that felt magical. Great playing and analysis of this OST!! 🎉
Thank you so much Fira!
Holy shit, when you added violin to twisted force! 😍
Wow, you got it so close with the analysis for the Nightsong, ties so well with the scene too.
Love how you can see the chills with the Nightsong well... song xD. Such a great moment !
the descending scale of the lute at the beginning of twisted force threw me off so much (in an amazing way) bc it sounded so similar to a oud in both sound and playing style. i mean it makes sense since the lute is kind of a descendant of the oud and even got its name from it, but i never truly *heard* that connection until this track!
even then, what really gets me is that a lot of people say this reminds them of the witcher 3 soundtrack (and i definitely see why), but i heard some middle eastern sounds in that as well. silver for monsters is probably the best example for this, but both bg3 and the witcher 3 have slavic roots, so it’s insanely fascinating to see them interlapping like this
LOVE seeing your eyes widen at every twist
Nightsong is a song that moved me to tears. After understanding all the story behind the Nightsong, seeing that cinematic was marvelous!
And to think I *almost* missed the Weeping Dawn.
Dude! Your playing adds a whole new level of awesomeness to the music. Subscribing. Now.
Awesome video! Also love REALLY good Cazador outfit!
4:58 This now has a slight Braveheart touch.
Sir you must do a Full violin cover of Twisted force, that little bit you played at the end gave me chills, so perfect
The BG3 soundtrack is the only collection of music that literally gives me chills every couple seconds. Doesn't matter the song, each and every one is way too beautiful!!
try out the DOS2 Ost!
Borislav Slavov simply MUST win "best score and music" award in "games of the year" award ceremony
Ein Genuss, as we say in Germany. A real joy! Thanks for assembling, reviewing and adding to this!

In my mind, this is a song of resurrection, of retribution, of determination.
My mind is painting me a picture of a moonlit field with thick forests in the distance, layered with corpses of warriors of battling kingdoms. As the camera flows up from the ground level, the first verse sounds like angels soothing song, guiding souls of the fallen to their respective afterlives. Then, as the camera moves and we hear first strike of drums, we see a group of survivors of a victorious party - rugged, and dirty, grouping up and starting to move forward, determined to reach their goal.
As the ominous music sinks in, camera flows higher, above the treeline, revealing smokes rising up from dark, vile lands laying ahead of party, foreshadowing grim challenges, awaiting for our survivors on their path.
What does your mind pictures, when you listen to this song?
the whole sinfony of sin is amazing
When I stumbled upon Alfira in Early Access and listened to her sing for the first time (of many) I knew BG3 will become something very very special.
Twisted Force gives me goosebumps
Fun fact, most of the music has been tuned to a pretty different story than Larian shipped in the end sadly, a lot has been cut and changed during the early access including the overall dealing with how the illithid powers are presented both in the story and gameplaywise.
Yay u listened to Weeping Dawn!!
I just found this channel, I already enjoy the content. Keep up the good work👍
Welcome aboard!
the Sirens song was gorgeous.
It wasn't here, but The Legacy of Bhaal has an incredibly effective use of that opening choir in Twisted Force. I'd like to avoid spoiling anything, but that motif is excellent when it's duelling itself to the death.
Or you could ask for a Part 3. ;)
Nightsong theme spoilers:
Woah! I'd say you hit quite the mark on your imagery on for the song for when it's used in game. The song is played once you and your companion spare and free an angel imprisoned for a hundread years or so to harvest her imortality by necromancers. She's a fierce and a determined warrior. I feel like the song represents her rebirth and and her calling us to battle, to save the day and saver her beloved. So yeah. It's a emotional call to battle.
Well, ask and ye shall recieve :D thank you for your take on the nightsong, you pretty much nailed it :D
I've been playing Weeping Dawn and Down by the River during my daily drives.
Never stopped so much in a game just to listen to the music.
IS THAT AN AMOGUS IN THE BACKGROUND? Wonderful video btw, loved it!
6:56 Considering the scene it plays in is you freeing a literal Aasamir from hundreds of years of suffering to kill her imprisoner who happens to be immortal, yeah, "battle drums" was putting it lightly 😂
We all stan the Dame.
The music in this game grabbed me from the word go! Incredible!
I don’t think I ever noticed those whispers at the end of twisted force 😮
Nightsong should also be shadowheart theme if you decide to become shar chosen. It just so powerful and beautiful.
This guy can just walk into a con with just the ears, and be the best looking Bosmer Elf in existence.
Seeing your eyes light up gives me life. ❤
The squirrels reaction to The Weeping Dawn lmao
The team behind bg3 did such an amazing job in every single aspect. It's such a fantastic game.
The Nightsong got me hyped in the second Act
Your violin play is awesome
Down by the River is an absolute banger that you totes need to listen to
But did you watch Part 1 of this video series?
I don't think I've ever felt such a way towards game since falling in love with halo as a child what a privilege.
Yay! youre back! I think you need to record yourself playing the game and certain moments these pieces play during the game so we can see your reaction to them and also we can see your reaction to how accurate your ideas about the scenes were. Once again I really enjoyed your reactions!
This is a great opportunity to follow me on Twitch since I do exactly that.
*proceeds to sign up to switch*@@LionmightOfficial
I hope youre playing as a bard as well!
It's one of my many characters created yes.
The only thing about nightsong I don't like is how short it is...... I NEED MORE
Recently found your channel and loving the content. Its absolutely apparent how much you love music just for the sake of it. Would love to see you react to anything from Hades or either Darkest Dungeon. Frostpunk has some good stuff too.
Nightsong caught me off guard I all have never had such emotions for a game scene since the ending of shadow or war it was definitely a hell yes we are going to destroy this evil
I’m surprised how close you were to the scene from just the music alone. Like the description of nightsong compared to the actual scene it plays is very similar.
Guess this shows music is a language that can tell stories or something lol
nightsong has maybe the tastiest little run in the beginning...sinead oconor levels of elven display
Some of his fellow Gondians works hard in the Steel Watch factory while he enjoys there as a music producer..not fair.
"The Weeping Dawn" and "Nightsong" both have a direct naritive in the Story which explanes the settings of the Songs and highten the Situation throu them
@StringPlayerGamerOfficial I remember the first time heard Weeping Dawn it just like now. Actually make my grow misty eyed.. It's soooo beautiful like a hell of a lot of the numbers in the game :P
But my absolutely favorite song is Nightsong it's beautiful on it's own and when you see it in combination with it's ingame Cinematic just.. WOOOOW.
Twisted Force is my most fav ost from game
Sixteen strikes is my favorite. It's so epic 😁
The Nightsong got me so hard in the game… I was not prepared for that scene.
You should also do a reaction for the victory theme that goes with twisted force. It’s called “enemy down”
Wow. Level 20 Bard right here.
Have you made it to the Raphael song in game yet? It felt like you’re in a Disney movie. It was exciting.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also had a lot of vocals in the battle music. Great stuff there too.
Yup. That's one of the reasons I have 400hours of gameplay on it.
Me (DM) when BG3 OST dropped: Well, well, well...looks like it's free real estate.
*yoinks for games*
Oh man when i see you face, you make me happy😊 enjoy it
Excellent review of excellent music yet again SPG! More music for my fantasy playlists!! I personally liked Nightsong the best but of course the others were just as great!
Ohhh Petal, how i've missed you!
Hey you should react to some of the songs from Payday 2. The game uses music in a really interesting way. It announces to the players which stages of a police assault they're currently defending against. Here's three songs that recommend.
Full Force Forward: A classic Payday song inspired by the movie Heat.
Break The Rules: A Top Gun inspired song with a great variation with vocals.
Ode to Greed: A song befitting the most grandiose heist with opera roots.
Also Payday 3 is coming out soon so you might be able to hit that algorithm wave.
I would liks to point out that the witcher 3 also contains a lot of battle music with amazing vocals! Since you have mentioned you haven't seen much of it. I think you've probably heard it though and it just didn't occur to you when you were making the video ^^
Edit: also sorry don't mean to be rude, I love your reviews and the BG3 ones are especially entertaining
Another edit: ok I just saw your covers of music from the witcher lol, amazing!
You definitely misunderstood what I said. I have 470+ hours on Witcher 3. I've heard every music it has. And I have a ton of Witcher 3 content in my channel.
No arcane tower this time sad. But a good video either way. I'm not well versed in such things but you explaining gives me a much better understanding for the work behind it.
I love weeping dawn so much!! Its so beautiful and emotional😅
Always a good time listening to bg3 music❤
goosbumps constantly... this game is good in so many ways. no, this game is GREAT in so many ways. neat video it was great vibing with you and sharing in this experience
