Well, in universe he isn't a ghostbuster. He's just Ray's friend who is visiting on vacation. Also, thematically fits. This movie kinda tries to tackle one criticism of Afterlife (Kids shouldnt be ghostbusters) and in a way, agrees with it.
It's canon in the ghostbusters video game they caught her. The video game is considered as ghostbusters 3 but canonically in this one she's never been caught
I think the movie reason is because theres too many precious books where she roams to even consider normal techniques. It would be nearly impossible to catch her without destroying things
@@sebastiang6500 they did catch her in the TVG, but just like in Frozen Empire, the containment unit was busted open freeing all the ghosts they caught by Ivo Shandor (who possessed the mayor at the time), in order to feed his destructor form. The film has a lot of terrific stuff in it, but it's just so uneven. It's like it was made by a committee that almost never managed to have meetings. The Kids' Movie parts of it have their own tone, and the CGI is uncomfortably variable, and later in the movie, especially, too much of the story is It Doesn't Matter How We Get To The Next Point. The film is like a fancy restaurant with a terrific menu and average food.
A shame GB turned into a kids movie. This scene alone has too many silly cartoon-like bits. And the girl looks too much like Egon, so silly, so typical, so predictable.
There's far too much exposition and unnecessary dialogue in this film. There was no need for Patton Oswalt or for the New York Public Library to feature in this film. All that was required was a brief explanation from Ray in his Occult book shop. They could have saved themselves a lot of money, time and extra work by simply cutting this needless stuff out of the film. There was no need to pay a fee to Oswalt or spend money on building the library set. It just goes to show that the writers and producers of this terrible movie didn't know what they were doing.
I think they needed an action scene halfway through the movie. For me, the problem is that the action should have been longer (and more attractive) than the exposition, not the opposite. The movie lacks dynamism for more than an hour, in my opinion.
@@mimicocotier1311 That's part of it. The main problem is that there are just far too many ingredients in Frozen Empire. Too many characters, and too many subplots.
