Hell's Gate in Moab - Lexus LX470 Land Cruiser

- My first time to Moab so I had to climb Hell's Gate! Brought my #Skydio2 drone along. Had a crowd form at the top while I was coming up...no pressure! Driving my 2007 Lexus #LX470 (it's a Land Cruiser, ok people??) with AHC hydraulic suspension all stock except bumper, sliders, and tires. No locking diffs just ATRAC traction control.

Thanks for posting! Was wanting to see a stock-ish 100 conquer this. IMO you don't really need lockers/lift on these trucks. AHC and ATRAC is extremely capable.
Yeah I am very impressed with ATRAC when I first got this truck I wanted lockers but now I don't see the need.

I'm amazed the AHC system is able to endure that punishment.
AHC on Land Cruiser and LX is a military based design. It uses hydraulic fluid not compressed air like Range Rover or others. It's super robust and strong as long as it's kept within spec. I'll be keeping AHC as long as possible on this truck, it's just awesome on road and off.
@@Turboactive Glad to hear that. I knew there had to be a good reason Toyota developed this system and equipped the Land Cruisers with it.

what happened when you almost hit the wall at the last bit of Hells Gate when your front tire lifted off the ground? Is it because the 100 series has a torsion bar front suspension which has almost no wheel travel, causing the other front wheel on the ground to max out downtravel? It looked like to me the whole front end just lost all its traction. Looked sketchy and the 100 series offroad limits maxed out.
Watch other videos, most IFS trucks bounce like that. Looks sketchier than it really is because the angle is reducing so you're coming down and moving weight and traction to the front. Was pretty clear from the wall.
