I’m 40 years old woman with husband and a child.
I have listened many of Mr Sexton’s talks over and over, but I really liked this one! This show more personal aspect of Mr Sexton.
Some parts of this video made me tear.
    Thanks very much!

We must learn to find a common ground for peace at all times..... There's no such thing as a perfect marriage or relationship; each one is special. What makes one person happy might not make another person happy. But I've realized that there's always a way to solve problems. Five years ago, my wife and I were almost getting divorced because we had problems in our marriage, but we managed to sort things out. It was a difficult time, but we got through it

I get why what you're saying is so important, and I honestly want to be happy too. I'm in a relationship, and even though we're apart, I can't imagine my life without her; my love for her is strong. I really want her to come back, and I'm fully dedicated to making that happen. We've tried different paths, like therapy, to fix things.

Saying farewell to someone you love dearly is never easy, but in my case, I had the assistance of a spiritual counselor who saved my marriage from falling apart. Her name is Suzanne Ann Walters.

Your guidance is well-received. I'll quickly search for her online. Thank you. I'm optimistic that taking this approach will yield results for me as well; her absence is keenly felt.

36:59 when you’re not able to listen to your partner or they can’t listen to you about mundane things or stories that don’t interest you or detailed diatribes, consider that it’s probably because you or they are burned out from their day, tired, hungry, spent, lack bandwidth.. you can’t or shouldn’t blame them or yourself. Don’t take it personally. Timing.

We all MD, DDS, DMD, Esq, CEO, etc after dealing with public exposure to so different, difficult characters, sometimes facing treats, ugly attitudes, unrealistic demands etc , all you need when home is to come down,to distract your overwhelmed brain from everybody who wants something from you when you at work!!!!
After 30 yrs of dealing with such a tętniono and your brain working on fight mode you do burned out!!!
relationship is detoriating, and all you need is just relax and hoping you won’t get to self medication!!
Professional trauma takes a toll!! Same like childhood trauma!!
James is such a great combo of psychologist and a lawer!!!
    Great podcast!!

Experienced divorce lawyer here (PA & NJ). Great episode! I believe there may be causation between going through a high conflict divorce and the onset of cardiovascular disease. The stress of a high conflict divorce can raise blood pressure and cortisol levels. What are your thoughts? Keep up the great work!

@@jcnlaw although i like jim, the fact that he tries to smooth the edges around marriage is something i feel misleading and dangerous, half truth is more dangerous than a lie. The only way not to be exposed is to not give into this draconian state against men and the family institution. Marriage is irredeemable

I swear it’s the same thing with me being a nurse practitioner!! Everyone has a friend, or cousin with a problem or they have one……. When I take my NP hat off, I will NOT talk about ANY medical things! Don’t ask me for advice, an opinion…… nothing! If there is nothing else to talk about, then please, let’s just not talk! I don’t people after 5 pm on Friday until Monday morning 😂😂😂.

Wow, the main points here hit so close to home. Early in the marriage everything you thought was cute now becomes a liability. Both partners stop becoming understanding and just retreat into themselves because they don’t want more stress and problems to address. We just need soothing to unwind from a long day. Marriage is definitely a balancing act.
