I've been designing a circle of shepherds druid lately. I've discovered in the process that when I unlock 7th level spells, I can summon up to 32 wolves and this is now my mission in life. I live for the day the party encounters something like this and a turtle-themed druid summons 32 turtles to attack them. They will, inevitably, all go after Fjord.
That tortoise will have its revenge

Professional voice actors skeeved out at a professional voice actor's (insert absurd adverb) monster noise. I love it.
Definitely one of my favorites when it comes to Matt's noises. Right up there with the un-corking a bottle. And Taliesin has an insane crow noise. So much skill among the cast.
It's certainly up there with how realistic Matt produce a face slapping sound with his mouth. You can check that out in Honey Heist 2.

@@sunshinepurple1043 It's alright. I didn't know what to expect when I tried watching the first one. I ended up enjoying for the comedic approach of the story. The sound I mentioned is in the early portion of the HH2 video. So you don't have to watch for long. Or I think you can try look up the timecode.
Every single time something is polymorphed into a harmless animal, it always goes after Fjord, and we would not have it any other way.
That was definitely one of the best running gags of the campaign! :D
I think the "Modify" joke was the hardest I've seen Matt laugh
Yeah! Like, sure, he's broken character before, but rarely ever that much. This whole episode was comedy gold.

@@electo21 Modify Memory is a spell that Clerics can cast in DnD that modifies the memory of the target. The party didn't mean to mention the death of Vess to Dagen, so thus, "Anyone got the modify memory?"

They all made fun of Marisha rolling encounter yet all they got were some out-of-commission frozen zombies. It was Travis who rolled and got the CR 17 frost worm.
To be fair, if you've read the EGtW, that encounter could've ended real bad too.

God, that moment when the party realizes the cat was out of the bag on Vess's death was absolutely priceless. There was so much good comedy this episode.

I love the idea that Artagan keeps summing fey creatures to take his place every time he perishes. There’s just this group of fey beings that dread being summoned for their immediate demise to whatever affects the M9.

The likelihood he can use that to precisely teleport to Yasha is high.

@@Sammie1053 Not sure he’s really a mage, this seems like a warlock type situation and I have no idea if he’d even take teleport. Also since it’s a location, I’d assume it’d either take him where the clover was picked, where she got it, or where she gave it to him.

I'm really glad matt didn't rule that the Galapagos Island tortoise in the Artic would take cold damage. Cause, though realistic, wouldn't have been nearly as fun as what we got.
There is no way it should take cold damage after 6 seconds. That is ridiculous. It should start after like 10 minutes at the minimum.
@@andrewaddison777 last I checked, turtles are cold blooded, meaning they don't make their own heat, so imagine yourself being naked in the Artic, and haveing no way to keep yourself warm. Do you really think you wouldn't be getting frostbite?

@@akrinornoname2769 Meat, basically! Ferrets are mustelids (weasels), which (just like felines) are obligate carnivores. In the wild, weasels eat mostly rodents like mice and rabbits. This is why they have such long noodley bodies, to sneak inside rodent burrows for hunting.
Pet ferrets will often be happy to chow down on beef/chicken/pork/fish/lamb/etc treats, just like dogs and cats. They might eat a bug or two for fun, like a cat might, but it's not part of their diet.

The defeated look on Matt's face when he moves the turtle after Yasha pushes the turtle away is somehow priceless. I feel like we're gonna see a lot of that as they venture into the higher levels.
Because he knows that the Mighty Nein are NOT Vox Machina. Vox Machina fought tooth and nail to kill everything that needed killing, even somethings that didn't need killing (looking at you Marisha ;) ) the Mighty Nein just keep turning things into less dangerous turtles and running away. It might as well be a running gag at this point and Matt is just losing his soul little by little because they're turning badass combat encounters on their head, *thus ruining all his fun that he was planning. You can only go so far before you break a DM

@@iainmcghee7892 you mean like the golem inside the Happy Fun Ball of Halas? The problem is making a legit encounter that matches the theme/setting of current area/story and making it work. It's easy to just go "oh, you turn the corner and come face to face with X,Y, or Z." It's harder to do that with the current narrative. To be fair they're heading into an area where magic is supposed to be nuttier than squirrel poop so you could get your wish.

That only fought Kevdak and his herd of Goliaths after failing to lure their leader out alone? Who fled from their first fight with Vecna?
Not even saying any of that was unjustified, but if you think Vox Machina didn't pull similar gambits you are remembering C1 incorrectly.
I was able to watch this live on Twitch. There were some complains over how Jester was using polymorph to avoid the battle. Personally, I loved it. Especially the sequences of events that happen afterward. Such a roller-coaster ride. And really, the battle went downhill right from the get go. Laura made the best decision to avoid any casualties.
Why the neck would Jester not try to avoid dealing with a worm of death??? That thing was DANGEROUS!
@@sodasaintcommentaries4054 I guess those people want to see battles. But, like you said, the worm is DANGEROUS. They couldn't and shouldn't kept fighting enemy that dealt almost 20 points of aura damage back. Not in the situation they were in.
Personally, I highly recommend not reading Twitch chat, too many back-seat-d&ders who are too obsessed with minmaxing. If you want conversation with other critters, join the Discord. It's unofficial, but there's a good community there where actual back-and-forth conversation can take place. And the voice chats tend to be pretty polite when it comes to letting everyone have a turn to speak.
And of course she was avoiding the battle, everyone but her was stunned with an DC of 20. It took, what, 4-ish rounds for most of the party to un-stun themselves? Who knows what else the worm could've done in that time. It could have even re-shrieked. Dagen even said afterwards how dangerous those things could be, and I don't think he was exaggerating.
And it led to turtle shenanigans. And Matt flipping over a piece of glitter. XD
(Besides, with how Matt was talking, I'm sure we haven't seen the last of it. There's plenty of time for a full battle to occur.)
I will add that, from what I recalled, it was just a few people. And other people did called them out for it. Most people just enjoying the flow of events and the hilarity that followed.
Thank god the hide chat feature on mobile, since I got up to date I started realizing how toxic the chat gets so sometimes :c

Literally two sentences earlier than the Vess reveal to Dagon, I paused and asked my partner if they have forgotten that Dagon isnt in on their whole... thing, and was eventually going to ask why Vess didnt meet them at the rendezvous point...

In this episode, the party traumatizes a poor ranger. Matt makes inhuman "how-the-fuck-does-he-do-that" sounds for monsters. And the 2 healers/clerics in the party entirely forget they have access to level 7 Resurrections spells to bring the Archmage back from the dead. They also absolutely humiliate a poor giant worm.
