lol Laura laughing and then trying to act like she wasn’t and triggering everyone else’s laughter was just perfect
My favorite part of the Harm bit was when Laura yelled "Live it up Caduceus!!" And Liam mumbled "Worked for Mollymauk." and Laura and Travis lost it.

As someone with very little dnd experience, “I would like to cast harm” sounds like something the one barbarian in a party of magic users would say

This was my first episode live after a year of catching up, 5.30HS of pure epic chaos, loved it.

@@lautarosola386 me too! I didn’t catch all of it as it aired until the middle of the night but I caught the dragon fight and most of the one with the TT and it was so chaotic and crazy
Im still catching up but I saw it live right as they started to engage with Lucien and co at the end. GOOD JEEZ that was stressful. Beau almost died and I was dying bc I couldn’t pause it like I thought it be able to and I really needed to pee.
Very stressful
I cannot remember being so anxious and agitated whilst watching an episode of CR. It is a testament to Matt's ability to create amazing antagonists. I paused Twitch several times to get up and walk around before coming back to finish the episode.
For me the only one comes close is the Might Nein's encounter with The Laughing Hand in the King's Cage. That shit took years off my life. But this episode had me in cold sweats for the ENTIRE SECOND HALF.
You can pause it? Shit i watched it live with no way to pause. Wife got a headache from the stress and anxiety and we had no way to stop

*campaign 1 spoilers*
There were a few fights in campaign 1 that surpassed this level for me (the Herd of Storms fight, the first Raishan fight, the first Vecna fight), but this one was by far the most tense of campaign 2 so far.
Got an honorable mention: When the group was running away, and Lucien’s Magic-Negating Field was *literally* a hair’s width away. Matt’s response was perfect. “You lucky f*ckers...” XD
He could’ve used an action to dash but that probably would’ve resulted in a TPK

@@tamllinn I did look it up eventually, Vox Machina were around Level 14 when they fought the first Dragon, and Level 16 by the time they fought the boss.
Mighty Nein were level 13 in this battle, so perhaps SLIGHTLY underleveled had they been taking Gelidon on with just their party, but with the Tomb Takers, they made up the difference.

I'd like to remind everyone that Matt updated Blood Hunter
And one of the features he added was the Brand of Castigation, a mark that you leave on a target after you hit it with an attack. It allows you to always know the direction of the creature until you dismiss it, or dispelled.
So...Lucien knows where Fjord is you guys
They can always dispel magic it.
@@_____2219 Do they have spell slots for that though? Do they even have it prepared?
Not to mention, Lucien is at least a 14th level Blood Hunter, so even if Caleb uses Arcane Recovery AND has it prepared, it's not a guarantee that it will be dispeled, the roll can go wrong
Not to mention, they could assume it's some Nonagon shit rather than Blood Hunter stuff, and that because of that, it can't be dispeled, and just don't try

@@mrhappy6677 Cree's is limited by Channel Divinity (she is a blood cleric in case you didn't know, really cool subclass), and has a 10 mile radius, not to mention it's the aproximate direction and the tracking itself only lasts for an hous.
Lucien's tracking has no distance or time restriction, and he can know the direction, no aproximation
Oh man, Travis’ freakout after the greater restoration failed is one of my absolute favorite moments, kind of bummed it wasn’t included

The scariest part is this was just the beginning of the MN escape. Two major fights, low on spells, only had short rest, and the TT can scry for their location. I can't wait to see what happen next.

The only good thing about this is that Lucian's Brand of Castignation is pretty useless for him right now. Cree can scry on them from their blood, so the Brand tracking them is redundant
Weren't they about 3 hours away from Aeor, according to Lucien? With their headstart, they may be able to reach Essek and the Kryn base before the Tombtakers catch up to them, assuming they'll even keep chasing them.
This episode was so stressful I didn't notice Sam's shirt
As a guy who used to play the Paladin I can attest to halflings and gnomes using me as a meat shield and/or hiding spot is par for the course during my home games.
Episode was Thrilling and Anxiety inducing but somehow had the funniest quips from the group by far

Everyone at that table better spin their totem to make sure we're all in the real make believe world of The Mighty Nein and not the dream make believe world of The Mighty Nein.

In-game, I sort of pictured it as three consecutive “boom, boom, BOOM” as the abjuration magic was routed from each caster.
That tops Scanlan’s “I counter-spell the Counterspell” from the first campaign.
This was the very first episode I watched live! It was so awesome, I'll never forget it!
The last time I felt this way was when I first watched CR1 with the beholder.
God what a great encounter - have some scary monsters RUNNING from something else. Great tension and suspense builder...

This was the most intense episode I have ever seen during this campaign. Amazing and exhausting.
This episode was astounding. I'm super conflicted on what I want to happen, too. On one hand, the City is believed to be bad, and shouldn't be allowed to return. But, on the other... I want to see it return. I'm curious.
This was a gut-wrenching, heart-stopping episode!! And in the end, they ended up with a backpack with torn straps, provisions, and a threshold crest. And the Tomb Takers have a bag of holding Lucien can easily cancel the magic on to get the amber necklace and everything else in it.
Actually, Lucian would need to flip the bag inside out. If he ended the magic, I believe that all of the stuff would be shunted into the astral plane like what would happen if the bag were destroyed

Anyone else notice the D8 Ashley rolled is shaped like a potion bottle? Pretty sure that was a Kickstarter project I saw a while ago, dice shaped like various potion bottles, it looked pretty cool.
I mean when we were sailing one time I rolled a Category 5 Hurricane. Something you can't hide from, can't reason with, and can't just punch into submission.
