I cannot remember being so anxious and agitated whilst watching an episode of CR. It is a testament to Matt's ability to create amazing antagonists. I paused Twitch several times to get up and walk around before coming back to finish the episode.
For me the only one comes close is the Might Nein's encounter with The Laughing Hand in the King's Cage. That shit took years off my life. But this episode had me in cold sweats for the ENTIRE SECOND HALF.

*campaign 1 spoilers* There were a few fights in campaign 1 that surpassed this level for me (the Herd of Storms fight, the first Raishan fight, the first Vecna fight), but this one was by far the most tense of campaign 2 so far.
@@tamllinn I did look it up eventually, Vox Machina were around Level 14 when they fought the first Dragon, and Level 16 by the time they fought the boss. Mighty Nein were level 13 in this battle, so perhaps SLIGHTLY underleveled had they been taking Gelidon on with just their party, but with the Tomb Takers, they made up the difference.

I'd like to remind everyone that Matt updated Blood Hunter And one of the features he added was the Brand of Castigation, a mark that you leave on a target after you hit it with an attack. It allows you to always know the direction of the creature until you dismiss it, or dispelled. So...Lucien knows where Fjord is you guys

Not to mention, Lucien is at least a 14th level Blood Hunter, so even if Caleb uses Arcane Recovery AND has it prepared, it's not a guarantee that it will be dispeled, the roll can go wrong Not to mention, they could assume it's some Nonagon shit rather than Blood Hunter stuff, and that because of that, it can't be dispeled, and just don't try

Lucien's tracking has no distance or time restriction, and he can know the direction, no aproximation

Weren't they about 3 hours away from Aeor, according to Lucien? With their headstart, they may be able to reach Essek and the Kryn base before the Tombtakers catch up to them, assuming they'll even keep chasing them.

This episode was astounding. I'm super conflicted on what I want to happen, too. On one hand, the City is believed to be bad, and shouldn't be allowed to return. But, on the other... I want to see it return. I'm curious.

This was a gut-wrenching, heart-stopping episode!! And in the end, they ended up with a backpack with torn straps, provisions, and a threshold crest. And the Tomb Takers have a bag of holding Lucien can easily cancel the magic on to get the amber necklace and everything else in it.
Actually, Lucian would need to flip the bag inside out. If he ended the magic, I believe that all of the stuff would be shunted into the astral plane like what would happen if the bag were destroyed
I mean when we were sailing one time I rolled a Category 5 Hurricane. Something you can't hide from, can't reason with, and can't just punch into submission.

@Jim Tent Sadly dispel doesn't work on magic items, only spells (like calebs storing thingy). Antimagic zone would do the trick though (the thing Lucien has)
