Nope they haven't. People outside India should realise that India can offer almost all kinds of food and experience , that's suitable to any pallet, in all income category with relative price. But one need to pre plan it. Otherwise you are not getting value for money besides possible nasty surprise This is not correct way to visit India and experience it. We Indians tell this to all still vast majority of foreigners specially TH-cam's like Jessica, Still they didnt hid advice. Its getting frustrated for us and slowly anger is creeping for such people

Try Maharashtrian food in Mumbai at one of the Maharashtrian restaurants in Dadar , Mumbai , such as Prakash, Aswad, Panshikar or Mama Kaney. Mumbai is Maharashtra’s capital. If you came to Mumbai and did not taste authentic traditional Maharashtrian food and instead you visited restaurants which offer North Indian or South Indian food ( which you already tasted numerous times), you missed the true traditional authentic food of Western India, Mumbai and Maharashtra inspite of having come all the way to Mumbai, Maharashtra..
Even the average Food Tour persons in Mumbai do not take you to Maharashtrian food tasting because they have their own personal choices or conveniences. So please instruct them that they must focus on taking you to authentic Maharashtrian food restaurants offering traditional authentic food which is prepared by Maharashtrian or Marathi people.😮

Suji is coarse middling made from durum wheat. Suji is an ingredient that can be used for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks.
Another dish that you had Aaloo (potato) Soya. Soya is prepared from soya chunks and soya beans which are grounded together and mixed with all purpose flour. Later it is rolled into skewers or ice cream sticks and boiled in hot water till it is cooked. It can be either used to prepare gravy for roti and sabzi or as a snack.
Soya is an alternative food for Chicken for vegetarians. There are plenty of different dishes made with Soya like Soya Chaap Tikka, Afghani Soya Chaap, Soya rolls, Tawa Soya etc.

Upma is a South Indian dish. Normally eaten for breakfast or lunch. It is suuuuper healthy for you (kinda like a dry porridge). But it’s like an idli. Doesn’t have too much flavor on its own. @@alfonsoandjessica I am an Indian too but I haven't seen anyone eat Upma with Sambhar or Raita, it tastes good on its own if it has the right ingredients and if someone is in a mood something light. It is prepared in a variety and of ways, and in some places where it prepared too bland and without many ingredients you might require something with it. But everyone have their choices, I am not trying to dispute anything, it is just that you would get a lot of suggestions but go with what you like more. There are no hard and fast rules with food, and Indian food particularly gives you that freedom, to each it's own.

Pair the upmav with gravy of your choice. Upmav is made with a very neutral kinda flavour, but the ideal use for it is to pair it with the gravy or curry of your choice. It's texture makes it pretty good at absorbing gravies and you have a super flavorful bite waiting for you when paired with something like a sambar or tomato chutney or a stew or curry. And the soy chunks is actually chunks of soy not meat lol.

There are other varieties of Upma popular in various parts of India made of either wheat semolina of different grain sizes, rice semolina (typically in the south as one would expect) where the dish is usually called as Uppittu or Upith. At 16:27 , Suji is coarsely ground wheat grain and then dry toasted. The size of ground could be more fine depending on the region of India. You can use Sambar with upma or chuttney or simply season the Upma with spices.

Aloo wadi , in that (wadi) is a dried product made with variety of daals and spices. They are cooked whole or crushed in gravies.
Suji Upma or the savory porridge u had is to be eaten hot and preferably is to be had with coconut chutney to get maximum taste. Suji is fine broken durum wheat or semolina.

    P. S. Upma is made up of Suji, which is semolina in granular form, thats why it gets that noodle like texture afyer soaking upt moisture. Additionally suji is used as a coating for frying to make something extra crispy.

Yes upma's are really so light flavoured like so we generally eat upma with gravies aur chutney pouring above like the same way we eat rice weix it with something to make it more flavourful then we eat. I am not sure of what suji is called in English you may google it and find out upma are made of suji and vermicelli too.

The porridge like food is called "Upma" and it is made from semolina (in Hindi: Rava OR Sooji). Rava is made from Durum wheat which is crushed fine, semi fine and broken and is used to prepare variety of dishes across India.
The meaty food was Soya nuggets.
Would always recommend to pair your tea/chai with something savoury or spice but never with anything sweet. It's elevates the flavour of chai. Certainly not a Gulab Jamun. 😂
Lentils are cooked in various ways and there are many many varieties of lentils. In India food and its taste, preperation changes every 100kms and there are many many versions.
Please do enjoys every version possible, both veg and non veg 😊

Suji is cream of wheat.. upma is a savoury porridge similar to polenta/grits but made of cream of wheat instead of cornmeal. It’s seasoned with green chilli, ginger, mustard seeds and curry leaves & crunchy lentils. It can be eaten on its own or with coconut chutney or yoghurt and various toppings and sides like namkeen and pickle.

Suji or sooji means semolina. Many south Indian dishes hv semolina. Upma is a semolina savoury porridge ( without milk). Very nutritious and should hv with sambhar, coconut chutney, mint chutney. Soya aloo is potatoes and soya chunks ( made from soybeans). U can order any kind of eggs, any kind of parathas. It is all included in price

Sooji is basically semolina, upma is a dish from it which is salty and mild spicy. This is more popular in South India. Upma tastes good when its hot. By same sooji halwa (Sweet Dish) is also prepared which is popular in North India.

Hi! Guys... I just subscribed to your channel 2 weeks ago as I happen to see you'll are in India. Your vlogs are amazing. My mouth was watering the entire time seeing the food. Hats off to see you eat such spicy food. Being an Indian I can barely eat spicy food. Do visit Mumbai and goa too. Amazing food... Love your son too... Go to "Elco" in Bandra Mumbai for chaat (pani puri, ragda pattice etc) , and "Jai Jawan " in Bandra linking road for kababs (meat and sea food). Try gujarat/rajasthani food too.. "Maharaj Bhog Enjoy..
