The skating world has been waiting for this Olympic season since Nathan Chen won his first U.S. title in 2010. He shares his journey on the ice from Salt Lake City.
So I heard that landing a quad means you come down with 7 times the force of your body weight on your landing foot. How does that affect your joints - especially your knees and ankles?
People tend to have a lot of problems around the joints in their knees ankles and hip because of that. But even just on doubles it puts a lot of strain on your body.
I know that was 4 years ago comments but that’s very unkind remarks to Nathan. No one can be perfect every performance but Nathan is pretty spectacular.
His mom plays a key role - truly amazing!

Anne P. Good question I am wondering that now too :)
Anne P. Nothing noticeable now , will be a struggle some 30 years later ...

That is why he will probably retire after another Olympic because it takes so much toll on the body!
Anne P. It's all because of the skates (boots). I studied the physics of figure skating and it really gave me a better understanding of the sport.
Best of luck at the 2018 Olympics \m/
and 2022

Too bad you didn’t bring the key in the team skating competition.
Boohoo, he’s a Gold Medalist. What about you, other than typing negative comments on the Internet?
