Love seeing your home garden. It looks beautiful! 🍃💗🍃
Please show your home gardens more often!!! So beautiful!!!
Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous! I'm in love with those daylilies with the yellow center and dark red edge.
Me too!! The ruby spiders !!! On my list to get.
It’s been a stunner for years here!! My favorite!
Absolutely stunning! I’ve learned so much from you!😊
Your garden looks amazing, don’t be so hard on yourself your only one person. It’ll all fall into place in time, enjoy the process . 😊
Hi, watching from the 🇬🇧 I love all your videos and gardens. You are ace at it. Thank you also for the great sense of humour you and your husband have. I always look forward to it.😊
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
I follow alot of gardens on TH-cam. Yours is what I want mine to become. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
I am so happy I found you. Thank you for telling us about the grasshoppers on the coneflowers. I wondered what was eating my flower petals. I have noticed a lot more grasshoppers this year, so it makes sense. I live in Michigan and in zone 6a. I have started to go back and watch your previous videos and have learned a lot of things that I didn't know. Thank you for all your hard work and thank you to your hubby for doing the videos. Always love his side comments and he asks great questions about the flowers too. Love how you don't take any gruff from him ... just like me! 😂
Everything looks beautiful. Nice work!
Thanks so much!
Always fun watching you show your home gardens! The passion is awesome. Love the T-shirt too😆😆
Thanks for the shout out, I'm Ed Burton - gramps on the daylily auction
Shelley your flowerbeds look beautiful . Love all the beautiful colors !!!
Wow I think your garden looks just as good as prior years. I fell in love with purple coneflowers after watching a tour from you a couple years ago. Thank you!!
Love your passion, love your gardens, love your authenticity, love your knowledge, love your banter!
Thank you 😊
Your gardens are what I dream mine will be. The repetition and colors are phenomenal. You are much to hard on yourself as you are balancing family, work, a start up flower farm and, the kids flower garden and camp. Brian is right there with you in all of this. Kudos to him as well.
Love the garden, your plants always look healthy and vibrant
i found this by accident from New Zealand. We can't grow some of those perennials in part of country I live in. So good to see them growing in ideal conditions.
It'd be great to see 'before' photos of how your garden's have evolved from when you first planted them
Yes ... My kind of garden ... Thanks for sharing ... !!!
Lovely Garden ^~^
My friend, thank you for good sharing 😊

Beautiful! Amazing as always.
Everything looks beautiful! The deer took out my garden this year 😢
Your garden is worth all your hard work. It is beautiful.
I’m at loss also with next to none of my butterflies fluttering all around my yard they usually pack my yard! 🦋
Makin lama makin serunya! Mau dong ikutan tur asik di taman ini. Semoga bisa belajar banyak tips and tricks dari para ahlinya. Ayo, lebih cepet cetarrrr!
I lov ur gardens !!! I hope someday mine will look as beautiful...
I'm the one who asked about that special Lillie! I had to laugh and I'm still smiling but I know it is gorgeous it just has to be. I also tried to write down the name of the research trial place for the cone flowers I got MT Tuber? Yours are so beautiful. I started my own for the first time and I'm loving them. Thank you so much for making my day bright.
Mt Cuba is the correct name
Here’s the link to the Mt Cuba research trials: mtcubacenter.org/trials/echinacea-mid-atlantic-region/ 😊
Everything is just beautiful. Alot of mine is ending we have had almost no rain. I have rose of sharon blue satin. One year it shot up a second trunk and it's pink. This year on the original blue it gave me about 4 pure white blooms. I wouldn't even begin to guess how this happens despite a bit of horticultural education. It's so pretty however I'm considering adding a white one to an area I wish to do an all white garden. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens. Vicki
🌺🌳GORGEOUS ‼️🌳🌺
Thank you for the tip about changing coneflowers because I have been planting the same ones each year and they die off.🌸❤️🇨🇦 Yet in the same location the Liatris, Proven Winners Pugster and Butterfly bushes finally (!!!) survived this year. I think it is due to the unusual milder winter 2022-23 we had . In another garden, I have found that the earwigs have been munching on many of my herbaceous plants.
Truly beautiful. I, too, like the mixed sowing of coneflowers...cottagey.
Amazing gardens! We did the same around our rock and tree adding favourite ones here and there makes it fun especially with the addition of new hybrids plus tastes change or Mother Nature sends you a curve ball. We added more New mini Hydrangeas this year a show stopper to our borders and the biggie Proven Winners Hibiscus Holy Grail and Valentine Crush for colour!🇨🇦🌺 We have people coming over taking pics! 😊 Gardens are the best therapy; continue to have fun!
Your garden rooms always look just beautiful! So much color everywhere. I can only imagine how proud you would have to be of what you have accomplished on this property.
Love all the colors of blooms at the farm too.
You and your husbands hard work and dedication shows in everything you do.
I can’t remember if you have poppies in your garden, or daisies?
I love them both and had so much luck with daises before we moved.
At this property the ground has so much rock and the drainage is similar to what you were dealing with at the farm.
Anyway, I haven’t found any seeds for poppies that have been successful.
Can you suggest where to get poppy seeds?
Happy gardening sweet lady and best wishes for a successful and beautiful garden at the farm too!
What a Gorgeous garden. Alot of hard work. I love daylillies.Thank you for letting us visit your garden. So until next time God Bless you and your husband and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friends.
So so pretty!! Since you want to stir up the top couple inches of soil to interrupt the grasshopper’s cycle, seems that is a prefect reason to wait on the mulching. I can always find a reason to procrastinate. 😆
Thanks for the tour.
Even with all the other projects that are keeping you very busy, your home garden still looks so beautiful! Love it! I would be so lucky if my San Antonio, TX 'garden' looked half as good as yours. We haven't had any rain, temps have exceeded well over 100 for over 42 days now, with watering restrictions or face fines. It will be a miracle if I don't lose all my plants, even those that arewell established and 'drought tolerant', ugh!
I really enjoyed this video. I love when you go through your gardens and talk about many of the individual plants, explaining what they need, problems they might have, etc. Also, on a different note, we have hardly had any monarchs this year either…so discouraging.
Really want some of your daylillies when you divide!!
Your garden is gorgeous and inspiring!!!
Oh I like ❤ very much & I watched this twice. Love to get seeds from you.😊
Awww, my favorite gardens!
Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
Shelly *~* I just love your gardens. Just so beautiful! You have so much knowledge and really enjoy it!! Love your lilies and cone flowers!! Thanks for your videos! ❤
I had leafhoppers eating my coneflowers. Your gardens are beautiful!!
Best gardens on youtube❤
Just AWESOME !!!!!
Very very beautiful garden. I love coneflowers too😊
Thank you!
Beautiful, beautiful gardens. I’ll be on the lookout for the daylily sale! I need different varieties.
Great! There’s a newsletter signup on my website www.guidinggreenthumbs.com that we will announce to first when the sale goes live. 😊
Very nice as always. Do let us know what it’s called when a cone flower has a tiara on its cone. I’ve always wondered. Because they look so unique.
Hi guys,a ten year old garden, alot of work turned out to beautiful,it takes someone that knows what their doing to get results like that.
Thanks for a wonderful morning in the gardens. I also only see a few monarchs here in Chautauqua Co, NY. I miss them too.
I love your sun garden, and I love Coneflowers! I added Salsa Red this Spring! I am having grasshopper problems this year too. I never noticed them as much other years, but I think they have taken up residence in my sunniest garden this year. They have been devouring my Petunia flowers and Tradescantia leaves in my window box, and also the Zinnia leaves, Bee Balm leaves, and Coneflower leaves.
i gave up on coneflowers after a few tries. they either get scorched or overwatered in winter
Gorgeous!
Great Video! Love you 💐
This looks so amazing- I am coveting all of your daylily blooms! How do you keep the deer away?
Loved the tour! Everything looks amazing! You are so right on plants being different in different gardens. My Cardinal flower that I planted last year is 6 feet tall on a strong stem. It's in an area that gets tons of water and it's been a super wet year. Yet my Blacklace Elderberry in its 3rd year is still only about a foot tall! I have a Brandywine Viburnum that has not produced berries but I thought it didn't need another variety. I'll have to look into that. Thanks! I always always learn something from you! 😊 And of course I love the Daylily talk. Addicted to crossing now. Got my first crosses ever in the ground last week during a cool spell. The winter sowing went very well for most of them. Now I just have to be patient.
The garden is really lovely, daylilies are the best, you have some really gorgeous ones. I'm on the shore in Maryland, this yr I have had 3 butterflies, 3. I did have a monarch come to the milkweed I planted 2 yrs ago. I was surprised it bloomed late spring, long before it showed up. It bounced from top to top, landed on the edge of a leaf and flew away, never did stop at any blooming flowers. I'm not really knowledgeable about them, but wanted to try and get them here. I usually have a lot of butterflies, they're all over the mimosa tree, fighting each other, this yr none.
Here in southern MN we are in short supply of butterflies. We have only had two Monarch, couple swallow tail, and some moths. Very low numbers.
wow wow wow!!!!!
My hummingbirds were late this year as well as my butterflies South central PA 6b. Lots of bees. My garden is full of color because I watched you last year and added tons more of coneflowers. Of all my daylilies , my best was my first, Jersey Spider with its super long bloom season and color impact, and Work It Girl by Owen second.
That petal problem you are having with the coneflower I have the same problem with a perennial sunflower here in ireland but I don't have japanese beatles or crickets I can't find the bug that is causing the problem, I even check the flowers at night.
I like your petal-less cone flowers. Their so cute😊
Your gardens are simply beautiful! How do you deter the deer from eating all the gorgeous plants- any sprays used? They routinely devour my hydrangeas and clematis plants each year. ☹️🪴
I use Liquid Fence Deer and Rabbit Repellent. Not foolproof but it does help!
Beautiful! How do you keep your garden edges so perfect?
Hope your $700 lily blooms this year. I have a daylily I got from ebay, and this is year 4, and I am praying I get to see a bloom from it this year. 4 years in waiting is killing me. It puts on a bit of growth every year, and I get a few more fans, but the fans are really small and have no blooms yet. I will give it this year and maybe next year and if I dont see any blooms I am going to give up on it and figured I got had. The person is no longer on ebay either. They sent me one that was a completely different lily then I ordered and now waiting 4 years to see this other one which may or may not be one that I ordered.
Me too!!! Im fencing it and fertilizing!! haha Ebay was such a joke for plants back in the day... I got scammed many times and the sellers just close shop... its sad.
Great stuff. Did you say that very tall wispy plant was Thalictrum (aka meadow rue)?
Do you plant the seeds in a pot or do you strow them in the garden? cone flower?
What are your top 5 flowers?
Frans Hall daylily blooms late in my 5b garden...great video...TFS
Your Garden is beautiful and everything looks amazing!! How are you able to keep the deer from eating all your Lillies? What product do you use and how often? Thanks for sharing!
Omg i would buy your lilys!
Will you be doing a seed sale or giveaway? I would love a few coneflower seeds, I bought a gorgeous orange coneflower but it turned out to have asters yellow so I had to destroy it and the others I had around it. I was not aware of asters yellow before it showed up on that plant.
We will! In the fall. There’s a newsletter signup on my website www.guidinggreenthumbs.com that we will announce to first when the sale goes live. 😊
I love the day lilies but they are so expensive 😢. Can you please share a link to where I could buy some seeds of late bloomers.
Can you do a vide on starting from seeds when do I sow the coneflowers I saw a video where said don’t heat mat just light and don’t cover the seeds can show video I’m in 7b thanks Judy
Shelly your gardens are stunning! Question: what is the variety of that bee balm you’ve got at 33:47 ? I need some of that in my life! 😊♥️
your gardens are my favorite..... have the hardest time doing a kidney shape....mine always end up oval 😏
Love your garden and every flowers in it. Just wonder did you planted 100 of coneflowers or did coneflowers multiply? Thank you for sharing.
I start with 3 pots usually of a certain variety and then divide when theyre big enough. I also started my largest sun garden in phases. I added on to it and expanded it every year adding more coneflowers as I went. Now I just collect my own seed, grow them out and choose the coolest blooms for placement in my garden. 🙂
When do you divide the plants that you want to plug into other areas? Thanks for the great video
Thanks for the helpful information on grasshoppers, they have infested my garden two years now. I had a Muscadet lily, it was oriental. I thought the asiatic lilies don’t have fragrance . I love your coneflowers. I would like to buy seeds from you. Just a few of each of your bright bold colors. I started Cheyenne Spirit this year. I can’t find other varieties in seeds. Love your videos.
Yes, the white Iily is an oriental lily not asiatic! Sorry! I will have a mix of echinacea seed but there’s no guarantee to the colors… seeds from hybrids don’t always grow into the same colored plants as the parent plant. You can’t grow a lot of hybrids from seed unfortunately but we grow a mix we collect and have gotten some gorgeous and bright colored ones!
Please show pictures of before, I have a garden bed and don’t like the shape and not sure where to expand it.
What is the name of the pink and yellow spider day lily
Your garden is beautiful! I want to add more viburnum. I just bought 1 glisten & glow do I need more to cross pollinate? If I want add spice girl what do to add to get berries? Thanks
You have such colour and texture in your borders. Stunning. Like your tips about what particularly needs sun etc too. Now, a question about hemerocallis. I'm starting to buy some from a specialist here in UK and wonder if you prefer Diploid or Triploid, and the evergreen or dormant varieties?
Great questions! I lean toward the tetraploids more just because I like the fancier traits… ruffles, toothy edges, multi-colored blooms. Diploids have their own positives as well but I tend to lean toward larger showier flowers.
As for Evergreen vs Dormant… that depends all on your growing zone. I have 75% dormant varieties because I garden in NY 5b which has brutal winter temps. Each daylily will have a hardiness zone attached to it… most (but not all) evergreen Daylilies will not survive in he winter here.
Your gardens are gorgeous. Did you have a lot of tree roots when you started your gardens? I have so many and I’m not sure if I should cut them out or just make berms with new soil.
The monarchs are in Indiana now.
Same in 🇨🇦.
Is the tall purple-ish flower by your vegetable garden monarda? If so, does it have powdery mildew? I've been trying to find a variety that is resistant and not having much luck.
Do you have a seed catalog and how can we order from you... Thanks and your garden is impressive.
Thanks for the question. I have a website www.guidinggreenthumbs.com and I have a shop on there. I send out a newsletter to announce my sales when I have them so I’d sign up there to be notified. I also announce on my Facebook page or Instagram account. 🙂
Just looking for the cone flower study link??????
Are you going to sell any bronze Rodgersia?
You guys work so hard and let me say that it shows! I would absolutely love to buy some seeds or plants but I don’t do fb the ruby spiders is my favorite but the pink with yellow center was quite pretty too! I wish I could have just one of each kind of Lilly you have. What was the one in the gated area that looks like ruby spiders? And can you put a list of all the names of Lilly’s you have so we can take a screenshot? I didn’t see a few of ones you had last year this time like going bananas or do they bloom later? You also said the new white Lilly you just got was a asiatic and smelled good but I didn’t think those kind had a sent? Your garden looks gorgeous, you should be proud! Thank you for showing us! Have a awesome day Shelly n Brian 💕🌈😂🌹👩❤️💋👨🕶🧤👟👕👖🐞🐝🦋🌺🌼🌸🌻🌿☀️
Hey! I have a website where the sale will be hosted. www.guidinggreenthumbs.com, there is a newsletter you can sign up for to find out when the sale goes live. You just have to enter your email address and you’ll be notified by email.
Daylilies bloom at different times throughout the summer, they don’t all go off at the same time so I will have a separate bloom tour video with all the varieties that bloomed this year and their names coming soon! I’m still waiting on Killer Green Bananas, I moved it and it hasn’t bloomed. 🥲 The white lily is called Muscadet…. It’s an oriental Lily which is fragrant. It smells amazing! You’re right, Asiatic lilies don’t have fragrance.
Do you sale any of your lily’s? Live in Central Nebraska 💌T/Y in advance
Did your cone flowers spread much or did you plant several plants to make those large groups? I think I need to add more plants because my coneflowers are in smaller groups.
Your garden is amazing.
I plant in groups of 3, they get pretty big after 3 years and can be divided to make your color drift bigger. 🙂
What is the name of the bright red and yellow day lilly behind you in the sun garden?
Ruby Spider 😊
Do we have to have fb to get something
You don’t, no. There’s a newsletter signup on my website www.guidinggreenthumbs.com that we will announce to first when the sale/giveaway goes live. 😊 You can be notified by email when you subscribe to the newsletter. Thanks for the question!
How come no Veronicastrum in your garden? An amazing architectural plant that butterflies love. I have a feeling that Veronicastrum is more beloved in European than in American gardens, even though it's an American plant.
Just bought that plant last year! It’s establishing!
@@GuidingGreenThumbs It can be Chelsea chopped.
🤪
Pretty, to much talking
