  • We have been reflecting a lot this week. We want to reconnect with WHY we want to live in a bus, instead of just focusing on HOW to make it happen.
    Join us as we take a day to enjoy nature, explore some local hiking trails, and dive into what #buslife means to us.
    Thank you so much for following our journey. We hope you'll stick around because we have a lot of exciting things planned for the months ahead!

    Fresh change of pace all work and no play makes people stale always keep it fresh for mind & body! Thanks for the hike surely could use one but can’t physically so I’ll live the hikes vicariously through the two of you! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.

    Work always takes up a lot of our lives and you know do it guys. Banff. Visited there on holiday from Australia and OMG you soon have to do it. Along with Lake Louise and Jasper. They were my key points on our rail journey from Vancouver to Halifax. Would love to get back there again soon.

    Making a reservation and hiking to some of the oldest macroscopic fossils, in Yoho National Park's Burgess Shale (just west of Banff), is on my bucket list, assuming I can still walk the distance :).

    Try and come to the Rocky Mountains and Banff when there are clear skies and no forest fires. This year has been horrible. If I were young like you two...I would zig zag all across North America.

    BANFF!! Banff is so close to where I live! You have to come!!. As l’m writing this I’m thinking of all things you need to see and do! Banff Springs Hotel, Moraine Lake, …….the list is long! Banff is just a small piece of heaven not far from my back door. Beautiful place.

    • @JimmyandNatalie
      @JimmyandNatalie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that’s awesome!! 😍😍 We cannot WAIT to go! That’s such a huge bucket list item for us. When’s the best time of year to visit?

    • @bonniepelletier9990
      @bonniepelletier9990 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That reallly depends. If you’re more into winter activities there is lots to do in Banff. Skiing, snowshoeing etc. Banff is REALLY beautiful at Christmas time with the town done up in lights! They even have a Christmas store in town that is open all year. Can’t miss The Banff Springs Hotel at Christmas either, with their gingerbread house displays, skating on the pond and cozy fires both inside and out through out the grounds. If you enjoy hiking, canoeing and the warmer temperatures ,then Spring through September. It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit, there is always something to see and do. Would love to have you come up for a visit!!

    I like the break from the normal routine. I think it's great that you're both taking time to stop and smell the roses. I've been watching many a van/ schoolie conversion videos and people are gung ho for the conversion, but two years into it and they realize it's not all the glitz and glamour they thought it would be. Others are passionate about their builds and see themselves not wanting to return back to the 9 to 5 'ho-hum' life. It really takes the passion for both of you to put all you have into it. Here's a little clue on exploring these great United States. Will and Kristen, along with their adorable daughter Roam ( and their dog Rush), are always adventuring. I believe they left grandma/grandpa in FL a few weeks and are in the southeast somewhere. Check out their YT channel for some of America's hidden treasures. Their YT channel is Number Juan Bus. You both have what it takes to be in it for a bit, but you might see a little baby on your adventure, and then your plans might change. I don't want you to compare yourselves with anyone else. You are a special, unique pair, which is rare these days. Then you have Sara and Alex James (YT title as a well). Sara got pregnant on the road and so they decided to put down roots and raise a family while continuing to enjoy building vans. They started their own van build business and create dream vans for others. Chech em out. I love this adventure video. Keep up your dream!!

      Thanks! We’re glad you enjoyed the video, since it was a lot of fun for us to take a step back this week and create something different. We’ve heard of (and are following) Number Juan Bus and love watching others with dreams like ours making it work 😄

    Love watching your videos My wife and I are going full time in November and I was surprised about how many friends and family members gave us such a hard time about it, like we’re gonna freeze to death in the winter etc. has anyone given you guys horror stories about something they know nothing about? November can’t come fast enough 😁

    Just took a pause from building out our bus this past weekend myself to do one of our primitive river float camping trips with some of our kids. I've got a list of hundreds of destinations compiled from watching others adventure. Connecting with quality people and with nature is right up there on our list of why.

      @@JimmyandNatalie if you're in West Central Pennsylvania, paddle the upper Clarion River. The best day trip would be to launch from either the Portland Mills or Arroyo canoe launch and get out at the Irwin Run or Hallton access. That part of the river has three class 1.5 small rapids. This is a good pretty safe river to start with for learning paddling. Lazy River Canoe in Ridgway is a great canoe rental or livery service and you can pay to park and camp there on their property.

    So I'm building a bus, (Same body style as yours but longer), because I want to travel with my wife and kids. I work a remote job and it would be well suited for travel. I own a house (close to being paid off), and 30 acres of land separate from the house (to have my final home built on), so I don't need to live in a bus, however we do want to travel and be able to see family who live across the USA, and maybe go visit Alaska and drive through Canada. And if Pandemic 2.0 hits, and crap hits the fan, and I lose my job, my houses, I'll always have a backup plan (Bus :)

    Awesome, awesome.... financial freedom did it for us... we sold everything we owned and got a truck and a 5th wheel.... we r free to move anywhere.... and travel w our home.
    Good to see u both have a mature point of view and that u r working towards ur goals.
    I love ur videos.

      "Financial freedom" is something we definitely talk about a lot and is something that drives a lot of our goals. The freedom we've experienced through this lifestyle (however short) has made it all worth it. It sounds like you have been experiencing something similar 💚
      We really appreciate it 😊

    It makes my heart so happy to see the two of you realizing and bringing your dreams to life. 💜 I know how excited you must be for this new chapter in your life together.
    Sidenote: it is one of my dreams to go to Alberta and especially Banff as well! You should also go to Maine. It is gorgeous and I think that you would love it.

      Thanks Bobbie! We couldn’t be more excited about this chapter of our lives together, and can’t wait to see what cool experiences we will have on the road. 😊 We’ll definitely have to check out Maine. Neither of us have been there yet, so it’s definitely on our list of places to visit! Thanks for checking out our channel, we both really appreciate it 💚😁

    Be sure to contact Joni when you travel west. They go camping or hiking about every other weekend - Zion, Grand Canyon, Colorado River and so much more.
    Love your enthusiasm!!! Love you 🥰🤗🙏💖

    We need to get these kids plugged BACK into the Matrix.
    "It seems as if you have been living two lives... In one life, you were responsible corporate employees, doing your jobs and fitting into the demands of the corporate world. In the other life, you live as a pair of bus-dwelling nomads who have cast off the expectations and norms of decent society. Clearly, one of these lives has a future... and one does not."

      Jimmy has a degree in Computer Science and I (Natalie) have a degree in Economics. And yes! The workshop belongs to Jimmy’s dad and he’s been kind enough to let us work out of it for the past 6 months.
      We’ve also been getting some similar questions from others so we decided we’ll be doing a Q&A video in the next few weeks to talk a little bit more about our background. So look out for that!
