Excellent heart felt answers Catherine. Backpacking is addictive! If I go two weeks without a trip I start having withdrawal symptoms. If you have time when you are in Wyoming check out the Wind River Range. Really looking forward to your videos of Yellowstone, Tetons and Glacier.

Great answers, Catherine. A lot of good insight here. I'm not going to reveal my older-than-my-30's age, either ,,, but you are absolutely right. Age is irrelevant and backpacking welcomes people from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes, etc. Great answers. Maybe next time I'll actually submit a question, haha

great questions!....I am suffering from cabin fever!!!.....cleaning up from the hurricane and all the preserves are closed due to flooding....not that flooding is a problem for me...lol, but my car cant get access to the preserves....I hope i can get back in the swamp soon...lol!
If you're ever in the Washington DC area you should consider hiking Dolly Sods, it's only a few hours away, You won't regret it, I packed there for 16 years.
Looking forward to the shots and video you'll get using the Mark IV. I like using an interchangeable lens camera (Sony A7RII or A6500) on backpacking trips, but always go back and forth on what lenses to bring. Good glass quickly adds weight to the pack. And of course expensive equipment means I have to be very careful out there in the elements so as to not damage it. For carrying that DSLR, I recommend a clip called Capture Pro from a company called PeakDesign. Best way I've found to carry a pro camera on the trails. Let us know what lenses and other photography-related equipment you take on your upcoming trips.
Tony Pierce thanks for the tip. I'll actually be bringing 2 Canon L-Series lenses. My 100-400 to hopefully capture some wildlife up close, but from a distance. Also, my 17-40mm. I think I'll bring my 50mm, as well.

Thank you for answering one of my questions and sharing so much information in this video (by the way I'm a guy). I've been backpacking since the very late 70's, early 80's with a hiatus while I lived in Europe for a few years (not to give away my age lol). Backpacking lead me to photography but after an unfortunate experience with a publisher I decided not to pursue photography as a profession. I've enjoyed all your videos (especially this one) and I know from photograph montages I've done in video format (for friends and family) how much work goes into each video. I hope to see more of your videos in the future and thank you again for sharing your experiences. I also hope you decide to hike some in the Smokies or maybe part of the AT, some parts of both are breathtaking, that's the part of the country where I live. I'll keep my promise to you and let you know how our French Broad River trip went. I'm going to bring my GoPro, solar charger and a few SD cards along so I might post it as a TH-cam video as well. I'll only post the good parts lol.
