in 2011, I was 13 and really into the indie "hipster" stuff that was popular at the time. I clicked through the Pitchfork website on my thick, old laptop looking for music, and I eventually found this band. I really, really loved Chairlift and they inspired me a lot creatively during my formative years. I remember had a printed out photo of them on my wall next to Lana Del Rey and Foster the People lol. When I was in college, my boyfriend at the time was listening to Caroline Polachek and that's when I realized she was doing solo. It's still weird seeing her be so popular now because nobody remembers how much my family and friends made fun of me for listening to this song back then.
