    Just like to add : Very reliable Eon 615 and fantastic sound for the Price & technology used . What is great is that the Amp & Power Supply can be Repaired down to component level. Very little damage to the PSU if you experience AC Mains fluctuation. A Great System @ a reasonable Price, Thumbs Up to the review I totally agree. PS : Service Manager @ Wild & Marr, JBL Distributors for South Africa.

    Love these speakers, I bought the 615s thinking a bigger woofer would have a good bass but you still need a sub to fill the low end. Quality is amazing though so no regrets, loud and crisp sound

      Hey Stephen - Mackie has been making some great leaps and bounds in recent years, offering great value. Any opinion on how these would compare to the Mackie Thump 1300w unit, which I think is roughly 30% cheaper?

    Great review, fantastic speaker for live bands in small to medium events. I suggest you add a sub per side as an aux for even more efficiency during live shows.

    • @JTNMax
      @JTNMax 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree. We are a 5piece cover band and played 26 shows last year in a wide variety of places with two being smaller outdoor gigs. We use two of these and work fine but at least one sub is a must for a band. We use an 18” EV sub with our’s and is great! These also work great as monitors but we have the 12” version of these for monitors and never an issue, though most have gone IEM now.
      The eon615 weigh less than many other speakers in that quality range which our sound guy loves.

    JBL is a nice speaker, I personally find them a bit light on the bottom end . A lot of manufactures are doing this hi tech DSP and EQ adjustment thing with an app , but what people have to remember is a a good amount of the cost of these speakers goes into that tech side, which means less into the quality of the drivers and cabinet for that reason I bought the Alto's which are over £100 ($150) cheaper and have similar or better spec on the Amplifier (which is where it counts). The Tech side is ok if your actually going to use it, but as a wedding and party DJ I've never had to worry about it !

    I have 2 JBL EON 615 and one Alto ts112 and the Alto is a tad louder and has more punch to the base I thought. JBL has deep base and sounds nice. Alto sounds great as well. I think I might get another Alto ts112. I like that punchy bass that hits hard and thumps.

    I bought a 3.5mm to XLR Cable, i plugged into and tested in both rear ports and the sound is terribly terribly weak.. I picked up this speaker used and not sure if I want to grab an alto bluetooth streamer prior to confirming its good, does the weak sound make sense or do I possibly have a defective EON615 ? Thanks for the review. I am considering getting the Eon One/One Pro because of its portability, actually for small gigs. We're a four piece band. This one can out up 1000 watts, that is 3-4 times what the One or One Pro can deliver. Is this a good idea? Connected to a small mixer of course. Thanks.

  • @k_d0e800
    @k_d0e800 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    i have a question. on this eon615.. when running it with a mixer. to keep it from over clocking. its not recommended to run it with a another amp right. its probably a stupid question. but my dad is foreign and i just need a better understanding so i can tell him why he is always burning his brand new speakers and all he think its him having to buy another speaker to replace and it doesnt even fix the problem. sort of in other words (bridging) it. because its a 2x500 (1000 watt) and i know he be over clocking all his speakers.

I am running a 3.5 headphone jack into a big sized headphone jack and into my JBL 615'S with the clue cable connecting the 2 speakers. What am I doing wrong. @glisteningkabana8154 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dinto, I use the EON612 by itself for my solo acoustic gigs. But i run my guitar into a TC Helicon Play Acoustic, then into a small Mackie mixer, then into the JBL speaker. I find the little mixer gives me a lot more volume out of the speaker for some reason. So I highly recommend adding any small mixer to this setup, if you're playing some medium sized rooms. I've done 70 gigs with this setup and it's worked great. Covers some pretty big rooms. Of course, there's also lots of great speakers out there. The Yamaha and QSC lines look great too, in a similar price range. All the best.

    I have a pair of the 12's that I got upgrading from an old pair of mackies and I'm really unimpressed with them. They don't seem to be as loud as the mackies were, and they were only 300 watts. I don't understand the channel volume vs the main volume. Should I put the main volume high and adjust the channel volume midway or something? It's just not what I expected.

    • @soentertainmentdjs2316

      DjKilessStyle EV ZLX is the best selling speaker right now. It has a DSP screen. The Alto and EVs have similar looks and they both get scratches and scuffs pretty easily. Alto has limited eq control. The JBL is a well known brand but the quality isn’t as good as the EV. The Mackie Thumps are nice but have limited eq control.

    • @thisdj83
      @thisdj83 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mackie Thump is a behringer is disguise. Mackie is owned by behringer. JBL EON of any generation have proven to bee poor sounding at higher volumes. Electro Voice can do no wrong. Generally always have great quality. Between these models EV is the winner.

      Just get the Bluetooth app and bump up the lo’s if you don’t have the sub. As with most all JBL Products, no need to boost the hi’s, in fact back the high shelf off 1 or1.5db, and dump 3khz with a narrow Q a good 2db+
