@jacksgarageworkshop do you know if these are desirable? I would expect not beacuse of the battery cost and weight so people would rather go for a bonser or wrigley truck?🤔

I don’t think they are very sought after. Not at this stage of their life anyway. The batteries are super expensive (which is why I had to go for 12v ones), and there are newer more modern alternatives, Linde make one for example.

great vid, reduce the tyre pressures on your drive axle it'll give you better traction on soft ground

I am going to try that but I’m also going to investigate wider tyres and maybe even slightly wider rims if not, but might need some adapters for that.

You need to replace the batteries with the same 6 volt ones as your cycle rate is high and do a discharge test on them to show up the dead ones

Agreed but the cost of 6 volt batteries is MASSIVE. A Trojan T-125 is around £200. And this needs 6. I have two of those ambulance batteries already so cheaper to buy a used one. Those are £500 each but I got 2 free with another machine and paid £100 for the additional one. It works fine for the highly limited use it gets, but it wouldn’t work in an industrial setting, I agree.

Four wire to the motor ar so the field can be reversed in order to get forward and reverse.

Upgrade the yellow one with a cabiin and rear cover. Add seats in the back and it would make a cool talking point on the school run.

Don't encourage him, they need to be kept as original as possible. They shouldn't not be used in a public place, not until they can be proven to be safe and comply with safety standards..

You could get those on these originally!and also a 4 wheel version, you do see them still around and for sale. However these would never be safe enough for use on a road, for example the unbaked front wheel.

I don't agree with what you are doing to these rare electric trucks. They are a part of British history, and you're foolishly going to wreck them purely with the hope you're going to get a following on TH-cam
You should be doing your best to restore these rare machines. Not hack them up and use them for spares.
It's wrong what you are doing..

Thanks for the comment, I will obviously respectfully disagree purely because I’ve seen these sell for no money over and over. These two were on eBay for anyone to bid on, and I was the only interested person for them. Yes they are interesting and a bit special but nobody else wants them either. These were both destined for scrap if I hadn’t agreed to buy both. So if someone like me doesn’t buy and fiddle with them, they go away entirely. I now have one working truck and enough spares to keep it going forever probably.

It's irrelevant they don't have much monetary value. They have a value of history for generations to come. In fifty
, a lot of people would be very pleased to see these machines still in their original state. They, by that time, would be a hundred years old. This isn't going to happen if you destroy them.
I come from a generation that cared about where we came from and what we had at the time. Unfortunately, now nothing is made to last. Years ago things were made to last. Unfortunately lots of those things fell into the hands of the likes of yourself.
      Best regards Kevan
