I hope you know how much happiness watching this brings to me. I keep it bookmarked and watch it when I need a smile. Thank you. I would love to see the same kids get together and see them now.
2nd grade? These kids are advanced. Our class did this in the spring dance - 4th grade 1974. We must've been pretty good, I don't remember many glitches, did this in front of the whole school, then with parents, family and the public attending.
We didn't have this kind of music we had the rhythm and our teacher said the words We also had to team up like girl and boy Partners We had to touch each others not hand but a little up from the wrist We did it for 4th grade also Here are the lyrics Forward and back Right arm around Left arm around Doe se doe Head couple down and back Head couple real the set Head couple form the arch And then it would start all over again UNTILL it went through all 6 pairs
I had this recording years and years ago and want it again. Can you please give name of album it's on....I so need it again. This doesn't include the reel, which is so much easier and the tempo is like none--most everything else is too fast.
Has anyone found the music for this song? I've been searching high and low on the internet and can't find it. Help appreciated as one of the teachers at my school would like to use the same song. I tried extracting the audio but I can't make it much better.
It's the traditional Scottish way to do it though at ceilidhs though. Apart from the fact, we don't wait at the end before going underneath the arms of the top couple.

What music sis you use!
The couple with dark blue scarves in the group on the left are particularly good. At 2:42, they're the head couple.
Honestly, when my class did this, no one chose the opposite gender for some reason, so it was kinda weird
That's whats wrong with young folks today not enough choosing the different gender
Great job y'all
Does anyone see the correlation between the rotation of the planets and this..............
We are doing this in Kindergarten through fifth grade at my school and we do it different
I have not heard a tempo yet that works this well with 2/3 grade. if you can list the name of the album, I would appreciate it.
What music did you use?
Can you share the music to this dance?
So cute together
Awesome 👍

I do that at school I am seven years old and I am a boy.
To me, it was a vulgar cartoon Rooster with an Southern accent. To these kids, it`s "reel"
Where did you find this song?
It's confederate music from 1939 movie gone with the wind well there's no confederate flag showing at least
Vic 45 ignoramous
This is from a children’s folk dance cd from the early 2000’s. The caller in the song is not live.
Alex
I've been researching into how to belly dance and discovered a fantastic resource at gabs mover crusher (google it if you are interested)
why mention that during a square dance
that's not how you do it
b smith well that's the way they do it
It's the traditional Scottish way to do it though at ceilidhs though. Apart from the fact, we don't wait at the end before going underneath the arms of the top couple.
b smith agreed.
What do you mean?
B Smith same. I did it the way where you peel and do a bridge and doe se doe and where one person's left hand went to the other person right hand.
This sucks
