- Hello everyone! My name is Courtney and I will be a first year physician assistant student this year. I made my Instagram and this TH-cam channel to help all of the pre-PAs out there and to document my journey through PA school. I made this video because I used to always ask PA students about their stats and how they got into PA school to see where I could improve. However, do not compare yourself to everyone's stats too much because every applicant is different! Make sure you are researching the PA programs you are interested in to see their individual minimum requirements to get into their program. Keep working hard, you got this!

Hi I actually live in Florida and I have been applying for months to different hospitals I’m just wondering where did you work as a phlebotomist ?
I actually worked at a plasma center!!
What would you recommend being Phlebotomy or CNA to get experience hours
Either one is great experience! I’d look into which programs you are interested in and see if they have a preference on their website. For example, the university of Florida counts phlebotomy hours as half hours I believe.
how many B's did you get in you science courses ? Can you go over your transcript please?
I personally got 3 B's in science courses and a B+ in calculus! You can definitely get into PA school with much more B's than that and even with some C's sometimes! Obviously the higher the GPA the better but it is definitely not the end of the world if you have a lower GPA!

How many schools did you apply to, get interviews at, and be accepted to? I’m going to be applying this cycle with similar stats and currently have a list of 8 schools. Also.. any tips on dealing with the stress of waiting to hear back from programs?
Hey Adam! I applied to 3, got an interview at all 3, and I got accepted into 2 programs and waitlisted for the last! You got this!! As for dealing with the stress, I tried to keep the mentality of whatever is meant to be will be. I reminded myself that if I get an interview that is amazing, but if not then that means I have more room to grow and more to learn before starting school!

Did you like phlebotomy?
It was a good skill to learn and it was fun for a while, but I do wish I could have gotten more of a variety of experiences before PA school!
