I was working, decorating a very large house at Wynyard in Teesside a few years ago and I was talking to the 2 lads cleaning the windows. They were charging £60 and they were done in about 20 minutes and they had quite a few to do in the area.
Love your channel and the honesty. I'm from Norfolk so not the most affluent area. Most days I can do 15 houses at about £12 or £13 each and finish about 3. Some days on big new build estates I can do 300 a day but that's flat out 9-4 and that's not what I want to do every day. I think a lot of people big themselves up massively, most people would kill for a job paying £20 an hour, let alone one where you usually earn quite a bit more than that, and work the hours you want to boot
I know this video is a few years old now, but still relevant At least I’m not on my own your prices are similar to the north-west that’s roughly what we can get away with charging for a domestic house between £10 and £15 obviously this varies And obviously depending on how close the properties are together in between 15 and 17 houses a day is right . Again this depends on accessibility. And time driving between properties.
Thinking of getting started cleaning windows myself an this video really helped alot, pricing is a confusing area as lots of people charge diffrent but what you charge in comparison for the time on job is all you need to be successful. All the best from South Yorkshire mate.
I love the honesty mate! I’d charge £20 for that every 4 weeks or £25 every 8 weeks. If you did 20 of those at £25 that’s £500! So it’s doable. I like to chill to be fair and I work 9-2ish so don’t actually have any £500 days. I do have mates that have genuine £500 days and one that has 3 vans on the road doing about £3-400 a day each van 😲! Keep cracking on brother :) 💪
Lol I'd like to charge more but I do a a lot of old pensioners that I've been doing for years so I don't mind. I don't do as many as I used to because they mess up my gardening round!
this method uses pure water, the brush scrubbs away all the dirt and then he rinses the window, no need to dry as its pure water and doesnt leave spotting ect. also this is a maintanace clean so obviously they are not that dirty to begin with
Great channel, I'm in South London and charge £25 for most houses with a few larger ones at £40 to £50. But I mostly do commercial window cleaning and maintenance work.
Iam from stoke on trent and I use a pole and I do £2 for bay windows and patio or French doors and a £1 for all the rest so works out about £10 for a 3bed semi and £15 with cons
Do you know those little 2 bedroom houses? They are building 2 windows on top a small kitchen window and a door at the back. There will have a window on top with sliding door on the bottom.I'm charging fifteen pound for that
Loved this video mate. My Dad comes out with that but has one lad working for him + a lot of commercial that he does all year round. bear in mind he's 63 and its took a long time to build up some solid rounds/relationships with bonus work like gutters/PVC. Anyone doing 100K on their own from residential is either full of it or works 10hr days, 6 days a week (fair play if so).
I don't know how people do 20 houses a day either! I struggle to do more than 10. I wonder if I'm over doing it and taking too much time, but I'd rather make sure I do a good job than whiz around missing bits here and there
Technology is the key to those kinda numbers imo. Streamline the system of working as much as possible with the hot water systems and *cough good quality lightweight poles etc. hold out for better priced work and get it as compact as possible and you’ll do those numbers no doubt. Oh and being a young pup would help, with loads of energy 😌 hmm I remember those days when I had energy
Technology is key ? I can literally do over a 1000€ per day with the most simple window cleaning equipment you can buy. I literally do not understand the UK market it seems because I have no idea why one would invest thousands into equipment to then do 20 pound jobs lol.
@@janovcar I’m not sure why the uk market is what it is. We do regular monthly maintenance cleans not one offs. I’d argue both have merits. You might have meaty months and lean months depending on what comes in. And fair play to you if your doing 1000 a day, but I doubt your getting that every day. I might be wrong but I doubt very much you’re doing 200k+ a year as a one man band.
@@AimHigherWindowCleaning No, it's not every day yet but I am looking into how to make more money in less time and I found all these UK window cleaner and I am completely baffled. The way I would use osmosis is to shorten the time of cleaning the outside and take the same amount of money. Less points of contact, less clients to work with, less stress.
I'm on the Isle of Wight, minimum charge is £12 that could be front door and 2 windows and I get that no bother, then I charge between £16-£40 per house with customers not batting an eyelid at the price and I'm new to window cleaning
I’m down south. You might get someone who will pay £25-£30 for that, it’s fairly small, but for that price the vast majority of their neighbours won’t wanna pay that much so you’re never getting them top dollar prices for multiple houses all next to each other, which is what it’s all about. Best off being somewhere in the middle and getting the neighbours on the books too.
I think we caused some hurt feelings about that pole 😄 your prices are fine in my opinion. There's the odd day we hit £500 plus in a day...BUT...some commercial is included in that figure. We average £15-20 all rounders. Fronts are minimum charge of £5...whatever you're happy with and what puts food on your table is all that matters. Keep well Ken

If your happy with your rates be happy and confident that you have enough work to keep you better off than the average minimum wage worker. Customers wont stay with you if they think they are being ripped off £15 is a realistic price these days Lots are cheaper i know from new customers .
Yea mate you can earn that much doing residential window cleaning, you just charge about 20 a house and go pretty fast, I mean those windows were already fairly clean but you’re doing a great job. 5-10 mins max I’d do bang them out get home early. 2 vans 2 employees! Yes I agree! ..... But when people say their making that working on their own! Doing residential windows! Lol well that's why I asked if my prices were way off! 😄😄👍👍
Personally I think that’s under priced that’s a 20 quid job, I have a minimum price of 15 quid for a three bed semi but that has a way more glass. In regards to whether or not you can make 100 grand as a one man band I would say so if you were working flat out five days a week with well price work you can easily do that. For example I have 250 customers and I pull in 53,000 a year, and that’s working for 6 hours a day.
In my noob experience you are charging a bit on the lows side of things. Looking at that house, if there are no side windows you a couple of quid low. You do a good job, you are reliable start adding a pound or so on to new quotes plus when did you last raise your prices? If it's more than 2 years then you need to increase - that's from a noob!!!!! :-) Work smarter not harder!!!
All relative, you could have a 200 pound a month mortgage versus someone with a 3k a month mortgage darn sarf...Price discussions always gets the alpha swinging his plonker 😂
Poor rinse poor cleaning, must leave water marks, here in Surrey that house would be £25 and it'll take 15 mins(2 of us) as I clean properly and rinse properly! Zero water marks! 😆 My wife and I do £200 a day, in 3 hours £1000 per week part time, we could easily do £500 a day both full time.

If it's more than 2 years then you need to increase - that's from a noob!!!!! :-) Work smarter not harder!!!
Yes Ched! It's been more than 2 years since a price increase! LoL I'll have to increase the price next year! 👍👍👍

My wife and I do £200 a day, in 3 hours
£1000 per week part time, we could easily do £500 a day both full time.
