This is a memorable revisit for me as I studied this area for my geology ph.d. 1962-1965. I had to camp for 3-4 months each summer so it was lovely to see the rocks again - the valdres sparagmite and the bitihorn gabbros, I continued my work in valdres for the next 15 years and finally finished mapping the fliensinden area. I worked as a geologist for 49 years before I retired. But in that time I had many visits to stavanger in my phase as a petroleum geologist, including a couple of months working in stat oil. Can you name because i dont understand the parking place to use the easy path to the summit please?
It's the one we show at 2:24, it's next to the lake and the "Sami" souvenir shop. It's called Bitihødn: maps.app.goo.gl/mz7mWVXFXGhFTtDD9
How much is the Parking fee?
Can't remember, but it wasn't that high, maybe 100 NOK.
