Thank you for the analysis. Apparently, Iseyama is a huge fan of MMA which is why these fight scenes try to be realistic. Thanks also for fixing those first few S2 videos so they can be seen in Canada! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I'm from Brasil and i loved the fact that you are a black belt. I trained muay thai for a few years, but never jiu jitsu.
After that i got a little more curious to learn jiu jitsu, after all i'm a small man, so grappling would come in handy against bigger treats

One of the few times I appreciate the pauses. I’ve never seen anyone actually break down these moves. When I watched this episode when it came out I was nerding out as well but not many people understood why. I tried to explain to my friends but they’re not into combat sports so they didn’t really care but you my friend are someone that gets it!

I've watched reactors that comment on the music, the visuals, the plot. Respectively so, but you're breakdown of the grapple techniques is absolutely fascinating, and a unique twist to the "Reacting Scene" (for a lack of better words). Also really interesting to know the faithfulness of the art when depicting the techniques is really there and care was taken with its portrayal.

Nobody really commenting about this Jon but this is the main reason why the manga has a lot more details that anime didnt. The manga actually shown more of Annie and Eren's training life and where she taught him some of these crazy combat moves and eventually their very close relationship towards each other. in the anime Eren and Annie looks like distant friends but in the manga, they are so close that Mikasa actually one time suspected Annie has some feelings towards Eren and asking her to not get in the way. It is also the reason why Eren couldnt actually kill Annie in the end of season 1 because Eren sees Annie as his mentor, teacher and very close training friend! Im actually not scared saying Eren and Annie actually fell for each other for few moments in the manga!

I love when you talk about direction and the construction of scenes! That’s why I initially started following your reactions. I’m super duper enthralled by this show because it’s truly a masterpiece. It’s a story that is saying something important as becomes more and more clear with every episode, and it is truly art. I come from a more literary background so I understand the elements of storytelling, themes, motifs, character arcs, etc., and I love analyzing the show from that aspect, but I have far less understanding (close to zero) of how movement and cameras and shots can be used since I’m a book girl lol. So I love the insight into how all the film techniques are being used to build tension and add to the scenes! Please continue to add these tidbits of knowledge to future reactions :) I don’t know if this is something you reserve for patreon or something but I also wouldn’t mind 1-2 min after the reaction to give a summary of your impression. Please keep these coming, thanks for making them!
