Spectral Motion Hey, can you do me a favor? With your expertise please tell me if this is a real blink, cgi, or animatronic. /watch?v=26B3ULaSEsI Thanks
Be passionate, be persistent in educating yourself and be willing to put in the hours to reach your goals. Find an entry level position, even if it's working part-time in a machine shop learning how to use mills, lathes. Get yourself into CAD classes at your local community college so you can learn to design mechanisms. This is a discipline that requires high level problem solving skills so you must be patient, inventive and resourceful. Dream big, aim high!
CG can look convincing at some points as long as it doesn't look out of place Practical effects animatronics can also look realistic as long as it doesn't look like a Muppet Also CG is very expensive but easy to use Practical effects is a little bit cheaper well depending on the scale takes a lot of effort and planning
Fantastic work Mike. You guys are amazing! Hope to be part of it someday. It`s awesome to see a lot of pratical fx done these days. Keep posting and inspiring!!! My best.
Really nice stuff. The creature from Lady in the Water is wonderfully organic, as well as the bat like head which follows. Wonderful eye movement on that one. Was Mr.Setrakian the man behind all the mechanics?
Wow, this stuff is magic. This is always one of those questions that show up on videos like these, but I am truly moving in this direction and looking for any help I can get: What advice do you have for getting into this field?
The animatronic at 1:27, what was it made for? And if possible, is there footage of the finished animatronic? Great work on the creation of these incredible machines.
