- June has been a funny month with unexpected rain, visiting friends, and birthday festivities all causing work to go a bit more slowly than expected... but rain, friends, and birthdays are great, so that's ok!
I managed to get a lot done still including a nice variety of garden and land stuff, helping at Sinead's, and getting on with some building work inside and outside of my stone barn.
I hope you enjoy the recap, thanks for watching!

Sunflowers make me happy to so lovely to see your first one. Love that Tracey is doing so well. Your creating such a beautiful home.
Thanks! Yes me too and Tracy is also a very happy flower!
Your dad's deck build is just brilliant. It really gives you a very nice entertainment area for the summer all while protecting the tank from algae producing light. Last month was really productive.
I'm about to go sit down there now with my dinner! It's great!
Have a blessed Weekend all of you.God bless you all.❤. Raquel.
Thanks so much!
I’m extremely proud of you for all the hard work & beautiful new construction you have accomplished!! Very unique!!🤗🦋👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
Great job! I love that splash pool and deck. I am a firm believer that when you can see progress you tend to get motivated even more. I can't wait to see you get the tool shed going. Just think. Once all these outdoor structures are complete you will be able to look around your property and know....."Wow I did that!" I admire your tenacity. Keep going. One day you will just be able to relax and admire all the hard work you did to have a spectacular piece of heaven. Best wishes!
Thanks! Yep that’s the goal… to have fun building and to be able to look back at it and remember the work and fun times! 😀
You accomplished a lot I June along with the water line, the lime putty wall which looks great, the plums , cucumber pickles, pool, etc. so satisfying I’m sure.
It really is satisfying, especially seeing certain projects moving forward. 🙂
Another very productive month! Can’t wait to watch the tool shed progress.
Me too! It could be slow going but I need to move forward on it, at least.

An amazing list, Kirsty!!, This method of assessing your month's productivity seems to really be working. You've been accomplishing more and more. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're up to this month. You always get enough done. It will be good to have Sinead around. Have a great week. Best, Angela

Thanks for all the videos, I love them and know how long it takes. So much done in June! Regards to Tracy the Trumpet …
Thanks so much! Yes editing takes ages but I love the process so it's all good. Thanks again for your support!
I for one would not be disappointed if you put off building the tool shed until a cooler month and focused on the house window instead!
I hear you but I really want to get at least one side of the rock foundation done... just to keep the project moving along. Then I think I'll flee inside. 😁

Hi Kirsty , Tool Shed in July? love how you put for real 🤣🤣 @13.10 Saying helping Sinead's as she walks past in the background 🤣🤣 Have a great week xx
Haha, well spotted!
@PortugalfromScratch only thing that would of made it funnier would be Sinead running past 🤣
Happy Canada day
I love trumpet yellow flower plant ,
she is very beautiful
Me too! Thanks!
I just learned this year that you can root fig branches (esp young ones) in water and start a new tree! Your pool area will be much appreciated in the coming months, it looks so inviting💕💕
It is! I'm sitting on the deck with Sinead as we speak!

OMG. You accomplished a great deal. Enjoy the success.
Yes, I guess I did! It's hard to see the progress sometimes. 🙂 Thanks!
Happy Canada Day from Calgary!!! It’s rainy and cool now. I love the deck. This will be so lovely as a hang out spot. I loved the lime plaster. It went on so smooth.
Thanks so much! The deck is amazing and plastering with lime is so nice to do!

You have the CLOSEST looking great .
Thanks!
Your deck chairs and rug look real cute!
Thank you!
Happy Canada Day! From Canada... 😊🎉 Back in Pt in August... Cheers 🍷
Thank you!
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 🥳 🎇
Thanks!
I absolutely love how your deck is looking. It looks like a wonderful, welcoming place to hang out with your friends.
The tool shed may not be the best project for the hottest months of the year. You might want to wait until September/October to focus on that one.
The deck is wonderful! It's a great place for a beer with a friend and it's nice and cool down there. Agreed on the timing of the toolshed but we've got a few low 30s days coming up and I'll be up early to work so let's see. The foundation is the heavy work, the rest not so much. 🙂
And a Happy Canada Day to you as well 🇨🇦🇨🇦👍👍😊😊
Thanks!
Happy Canada 🇨🇦 day 🎉
Thanks!
You are really going to work on the Tool Shed, tomorrow! All right! I am excited
Yes! ... 😬
Great! 👍😊
😀
You certainly crammed a lot into June 😁👍🏻
I did, though it seems like I didn't get that much done, somehow!
@@PortugalfromScratch yeh, you did 👍🏻
Love the recap, 👍🥰
Glad to hear that!
Catnip. I think you should plant catnip around the fig tree. You already have the cat. You just need the nip.
Haha! A nice idea, thanks!
You had a great month
Thanks, it was busy!
Hi Kirsty, you did so much in June! I hope you and Sinead take some time to live the life, relax in the heat, amidst the progress. Is the Clayfest near you? The deck keeps wowing me, so pretty with the little carpet and chairs.
I forgot to mention the location, it’s in the UK near London somewhere. We’ll certainly do plenty of relaxing but we also both enjoy a bit of hard work. 😁
🇨🇦 day!! ❤️🇨🇦
😀 🇨🇦 🇷🇼
Wow...great progress!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I hope you had a fab birthday! Thank you for sharing all that you do with us. You did have a busy month! I’m surprised that jalapeños are as popular as they are given that pimientos de Padrón are so popular. Have you ever grown them? I thought that I had a semi-tragedy happen…i forgot and left my tool of joy outside over night in my wheel barrow and lo and behold we had a massive storm that night. It drowned in the wheel barrow. But after a few days it dried out and was revived! Yahoo! I think of you every time I use it even though my real tool of joy is my cordless drill that I use very often. Also, i was happy to learn of the trumpet flower. My son and I were walking part of El Camino De Santiago to Vilanova de Arousa. I saw a massive one of those plants but I thought it was growing some kind of squash…the flowers remind me of the blossoms on squash or pumpkins. Anyway, it was just humongous and I wondered what it was. So when I saw Tracy, i learned what that was. Cool. Wishing you a wonderful July.
I love that you have two tools of joy and that it survived being submerged! Yay! I'm not sure I've heard of pimientos de Padrón at all... are they spicy? Yes those Tracy flowers can become gigantic! The mama plant I got the cutting from is huge!
@@PortugalfromScratch pimientos de Padrón are from Padrón in Galicia, Spain. They are a little smaller than jalapeños, usually, and are quite the staple in the western part of spain. In Gallego, the saying goes Os pementos de Padrón, uns pican e outros non. Which is like saying some are hot and some are not. It basically depends on how much water they get. To me, they seem like a cross between a shishito pepper and a jalapeño. The mild ones are so delicious. You just throw them in some hot olive oil, char them a bit, put some coarse salt on them, and pop them in your mouth (hold onto the stem). You should ask some of your Portuguese friends about them. And do a search on TH-cam. In Spain, they eat them almost like we would eat french fries in the US. And Happy Canada day.
I'll look them up, thanks! For the jalapenos I want the largest varieties I can find since I'm canning and selling them but for my own consumption, something a little less spicy would be perfect.
