Alice Cooper is a legend, and I've seen many of his shows starting with his "Welcome To My Nightmare" tour in the 70's. Even though his stage persona is the quintessential bad guy, he is a devout Christian and the nicest guy you could meet (he credits Jesus for saving him from dying from alcoholism, and being faithful to his wife of 40 years). He does a lot for charity and has established urban centers for young disadvantaged kids to learn music and to help them stay out of trouble. Alice is the man!!!!

The nice thing about him, though, is he is a GENUINELY nice and kind man. He doesn't beat you over the head with his faith. and he's been very good to younger musicians who are anything but Christian!

Fun story: I sing in the choir at my church, and was really surprised when our youth minister posted something on a Sunday afternoon that said, "Who noticed Alice Cooper sitting in the congregation today?" :-o He was doing a concert that night in town, and attended our church that morning! Looked like any other person. So I've sung for Alice Cooper, without even realizing it!

Alice Cooper was my jam when I was in High School. He is considered a pioneer of shock rock and his stage show was known for pyrotechnics, guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, reptiles, baby dolls, and dueling swords. Other songs worth listening to are: Billion Dollar Babies; I'm Eighteen (this was my school's song for the senior class of 1976); School's Out; Teenage Lament; Poison; Welcome to My Nightmare; Desperado.

This was the original Alice Cooper band from the early 70's - Alice Cooper (vocals), Michael Bruce (lead guitar), Neal Smith (drums), Dennis Dunaway (bass) & the late Glen Buxton (guitar)... Alice Cooper went solo in 1975 after the breakup of the original band; the man is 70+ years old & still records, tours and performs 'No more Mr. Nice Guy' in concert 🤘🤘🔥🔥😈
Megadeth did a great cover of 'No more Mr. Nice Guy' in 1989 🤘🤘 and their mainman Dave Mustaine calls Alice Cooper his godfather... Cooper's past struggles w/ alcohol made him reach out to other entertainers who were struggling w/ addiction, and Dave Mustaine was one of them.

The original band was bad ass and blew our minds when we saw them, in the early 70s no one had seen anything like his stage show and his band was one of the best and had the chops to bring his outrageous show to life. God Bless Alice Cooper!

I've been a big Alice Cooper fan since the early 70's. He is a rock legend and has so many excellent songs. He was the original shock rocker and got bad press and even banned from playing in a few countries just because of the press. So in this song he's kind of saying, " I'm a nice guy, but you all think I'm bad, so you haven't seen anything yet, No More Mr Nice Guy"!. He is a great writer and performer and has a great sense of humor. Here are a few other songs of his to check out, Schools Out, I'm Eighteen, Billion Dollar Babies, Poison, Under my Wheels. He has 50 years of great music and is still puts on one of the best rock shows there is and still puts out great albums. I have tickets to see him live in April!

Alice Cooper was revolutionary. One of the first shock rockers and he isstill going strong.
An interesting fact: he was on the track team in high school (and one of the best in track) . He and some of his fellow track friends entered a talent show and lip syncd as a band. They won, loved doing it so they formed a band and learned to really play.

It was a master stroke to do that final verse in the 'californian' beach boys / jan & dean style. Both bands in their time were seen as the nice guys of rock, with their blond hair, sun-tans and white teeth, with most of their songs about surfing and teenage romance. Alice Cooper on the other hand were for a long time seen as the darker, less desirable face of rock, but this song emphasizes that this is all a front, designed to shock, because that was what sells records: that was what the fans were expecting because THAT was what the music media designed. The image of Alice Cooper was one perpetuated by the media, then the fans, and finally accepted by the band themselves, because the media needed someone to despise, and the fans needed someone for society to despise. For goodness sake, even the media had named the vocalist 'Alice Cooper' years before, (The vocalist was originally Vince Furnier - the band was Alice Cooper,) in order to make him/them even more controversial.

Great finally someone is playing some old classic Alice Cooper! This guy was a big deal when I was in high school. I know some people are going to disagree with me but I liked Alice Cooper with the original band. Once he split off on his own it was a little too corny and commercialized for my taste. The original band was great …had a great bass player and two lead guitars that would jam back-and-forth and the whole band wrote the music. But of course back in those days there were so many great bands out there it was easy to give up on one and go to another😂 million dollar babies and schools out albums were my favorite, I Remember on the schools out album it opened up like a school desk and inside the vinyl album was wrapped in a pair of panties😂 and then of course billion dollar babies album which this song is from open Ed up like a giant wallet and if I remember right, it had a giant bill in there with a picture of Alice Cooper instead of A president

Alice has such a diverse catalog, filled with all kinds of gems, many of which have been noted in previous comments. One of my favorite albums of his though, is probably one of his most overlooked, Alice Cooper '80 Flush The Fashion. Not only was the LP a major shift in style, bringing elements of punk and new wave to the table, but he mixed up his whole swag recipe. He buzzed his locks and toned down the makeup, looking more on the punk side than the Godfather of Shock Rock. The entire album rocks and mesmerizes. Clones and Pain are two winning numbers from this jackpot. Couch Gang should dive into this ear candy. ✌

Definitely his stage persona.. (and sometimes offstage) was the hair and makeup.. but every time I've heard him talk in interviews he's very nice and polite.. yes he's on the edge entertainment wise.. but I think he's a smart sensible guy who's very successful.

Early Alice cooper with original line up is amazing. Got all their early albums. They had a very much punk aura about them and the music. My favourite song has to be ...eighteen...

I'm 18 was my experience for 1st time noticing him! I was 14 or 15. I am now almost 65 and Still love his band. R'N roll perfection. Unusual theatrical performances and make-up. Adds more to the entertainment value. Only Women Bleed is a softer cut unlike most of his shining 🎶. 🎸

Alice Cooper is FANTASTIC! I’ve missed one tour since 75. He is fun, horror, and killer music. He is kind and generous, comes from religious family, and plays golf daily.

I used to take Christmas presents from online fans out to his house in Paradise Valley. I live in Phoenix,so it isnt even 20 miles from my place. The fans would send the presents to me and I would deliver them to him. He and his whole family, wife, kids, and his Mom are awesome people!

The first time I saw Alice Cooper it was the original band June 11, 1971. Glass Harp played first. Cooper were the 2nd act on a 3 band set at The Fillmore East. The headliner was Bloodrock. Alice Cooper was on their Love ItTo Death tour. They blew the opening act off the stage with their “theatrical” show… straitjackets… guillotines.. and the song Eighteen that became their first hit…. Oh, and a great band.. I saw him a lot after that, Boston, Phoenix..

I was a freshman in 1969 when AC played our high school in Windsor, Ontario across the river from Detroit. They were in the LA scene just getting started. They were crude but very promising because of Vincent Fournier, who most people still think was "Alice Cooper". Can't believe it's been 53 years! BTW, my buddies and I regard "Love it to Death" as their best album. School's Out and Billions Dollar Babies are great as well. Halo of Flies the best song!

Alice Cooper is always a great choice, he is a very deep rabbit hole to explore. His stuff in the early - mid 70s with the original Alice Cooper band is absolutely classic, and he helped invent shock rock and outlandish stage shows. You really should check him out live from that time frame, search for the official I'm Eighteen video, it will blow your mind. His work later on just added more great tunes to a huge catalog and his shows were so good, no matter who was in the band that I ended up seeing him at least a dozen times. Also try the Black Widow live, his version with Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on guitars is beyond belief. Enjoy! 🎸
