Thank you a million for taking the time to educate and inform about the candles. These are not just any candles or candle lighting. I really enjoyed the video. Please, make more. I learned a lot!!!✡💜💙
Thank you. This talk was very interesting, especially as I am not Jewish, but try to honour the Sabbath. Since I heard about it a couple of years ago, I have been lighting shabbat candles. To honour God's sabbath. Bless you!
The Menorah was used on Shabbat and Jewish holidays just as it was during the rest of the week in the Jewish Temple. The prohibition of lighting fire, as well as the other prohibitions of the Shabbat did not apply to the Temple service as they are in and of themselves commandments. Another example of this is when Yom Kippur comes out on Shabbat. Even though one is not allowed to fast on Shabbat, as Yom Kippur is set for the 10th of the seventh month, it would take precedent over Shabbat. Hope that answers your question.
As a Christian, do you still keep Shabbat? Do you think it is wrong to light the candles or did Jesus do away with the old law? (Not sure if I’m wording it correctly)
It has become a tradition to light 2 candles out deference to the two versions of the 10 commandments in Exodus, and Deuteronomy. When it comes to the commandment of Sabbath, one version says shmor "observe" and the other says zachor "remember". Although traditional to light 2, according to Jewish law one is sufficient.
This is a deadly man made custom for God said, Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the Sabbath day." You are signing your death warrant every time you light a candle on the Sabbath, for there is no life without God and being disobedient to Him means eternal death!!!! Have we not learned from the disobedience of our ancestors anything at all!
We have to USE scriptures to back up everything. If it is NOT in the Bible we DON’T want it! If it is in the Bible we WANT it! This is man made tradition and not of Yah and has NO biblical basis for so called, Shabbat candles. This is man-made doctrine: 1. To keep people committed to man-made traditions rather than scriptures. 2. Another way to fleece people out of money by buying items that was NEVER ordained by YAH! Also, keep in mind CHRIST said call no man rabbi but these totally lost people will continue to call each other rabbi or make reference to rabbinical writings.

God commanded, "Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye." "
Why just two candles ? Can a 7b menorah be used ?
0:41 you said this was not the type that was used to light. But for some reason Dallas Jenkins used a lot of those candles in the Chosen.
LOL, I can't answer for movie production.
Watching the video.
What came to mind
Was Yeshua the parable of the ten virgins with lamps.. 5 that were wise and 5 were foolish..Matt:25:1 13
When is the 7 branched menorah used for shabbat ?
I don' expect a reply....but perhaps one of the readers out there may know.

And what does the three hand “swooshes” over the candle signify? And covering the eyes?

Christ is not found in the Hebrew Bible...
