Philippines may not be as Powerful as France, UK and other allies of the US but its the most loyal and longest ally of US in South East Asia and the Obama administration should be more sensitive to that. Filipinos fought side by side with the Americans in almost all the wars it entered since World War 2 never left the side f the Americans. Even during the cold war where many of its neighbors defected to the communists and yet at this time US is taking care of China more than the Philippines just watching as the Chinese taking over parts of the Philippine territory. So who can blame if this new president who s more patriotic may show some grudge to the Americans?

I am aware and thankful of the Philippines friendship with the Philippines, but Duterte is hardly represents the Philippines ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. The U.S. has a net trust rating of +59, while China received a net trust score of -16. And China has made claims to the entire South China Sea, including territory belonging to the Philippines, and Duterte is insistent on surrendering to China, not working with China, not allying with China, just surrendering to China by giving up claims to their rightful territory in the SC Sea. And anti-chinese protests in the Philippines clearly show that Philippinos don't want this. I get it if there is some resentment towards the U.S. and urge to announce yourself as an anti-imperialist leader who will stand up to the U.S., but what Duterte is doing is trying to make the Philippines a Chinese colony.

Mr Duterte did not directly cursed Mr Obama, its just an ordinary cursing out of disgust, to the interpreter of that tagalog word please you have a consience to correct it you are totally wrong with your interpretation.
There isn't a difference, the only thing that was incorrect in the translation is the addition of "You" in "You son of...".

I'm a Filipino and I would say Duterte is the best President we've ever had since Marcos. The international news is a hoax. Both Marcos and Duterte are amazing leaders. They bring results. His son is currently running for Presidency and is rocking at 60% consistently in all survey firms consistently since the campaign period started. This is our first majority President since survey firms started. Even if you ask people in the streets, Bongbong Marcos is the most popular by a landslide.
