This is why magic is the best. A man in his forties is giddy about mathematical improbabilities happening whilst planning a game he has yet to play and I'm here for every second of it. Enchanting tales have been wild so far.
The set does not allow for much shenanigans, there is simply so much removal and cheap interaction (almost every creature is a combat trick). This deck was sweet, but the outcome is sadly the norm for WOE.
drafted this format once with my friends and first pack opened parallel lives and third pack opened gruff triplets - this combo won every game on instant :D Felt bad and also happy at the same time, as this combo is some kind of dream combo in limited :D
This is basically my experience with wilds of eldraine draft in a nutshell "Oh sweet, I drafted an awesome looking deck that does some cool things" Immediately go 1-3 and die to a bunch of random 2/2s
If you play copy enchantment and have it enter as not a copy, then copy it with the three parallel lives out, can you have the 8 tokens enter as copies of the parallel lives? then you would make 2048 copies of the next token you create.
LOVED the decision to play the Yenna/Parallel lives combo. Hated the decision to splash blue. But hell, got to see 8 bitterblossom tokens get made on one upkeep so what difference does it make? Lol
7:34 sure imodane's recruiter is the best and most obvious pick here right? the adventure fits right into your synergies and its also just a card thats better than most rares.
I played a Yenna deck in draft this week, the difference was that I was base blue-white with sharae and other tap / enchantment synergies and only splashing green for Yenna. I went 6-3 with the deck and it felt very powerful, especially when Yenna was drawn.
What a bold draft! It doesn't matter that it didn't do that well. That was fun to see. The set is too aggressive to support these antics, which is unfortunate with it having so many funky enchantments to build on. Making it so aggressive seems like a bit of a miss on set design. It nullified a lot of the potential.
It's like the scene in _Jurassic Park_ where they demonstrate cloning... "Hello John." "Hello John!" "Oh, hello John." "Hello John." "Hello John." "Hello John!"
8:17 My jaw dropped at the Bitter Chill pick over Evolving Wilds. I definitely feel the deck could have benefitted a lot from replacing Return from the Wilds with a couple of more substantial creatures by prioritizing color-fixing lands a little more highly.
I'm at that point of the draft now but I can tell you it's too late to pass Bitter Chill now that he went with the hatclings plus Wilds will most likely wheel, not to mention Bitter Chill once copied is win-con.
Yeah, there were definitely spots there where LSV really ought to have sucked it up and passed something to pick up some more fixing, but today was all about cake and not about vegetables. We even got to eat it in one of the games! 😆
@lsv likely been said before, but your layout hides relevant cards ingame. Not sure if there’s a better location for your avatar box, but may be it be nice for a different set up.
Ideally he'd have one layout for drafting and another for the games. I think maybe moving the camera over the pet on the left side of the screen would be a decent location, unless I'm forgetting something.
Seems like every draft I've done. I say to myself, "this deck has some good synergies, it's going to be great". Lose the first two games miserably because opponent has all the answers😢
This was really fun to watch, going off even once is worth it in my opinion! Would have been hilarious if you were in silver tier or something. I think taking Evolving Wilds over that Aerie would have helped a lot. I know every piece matters, but no Aerie, another Wilds and another slumbering guard (or break the spell) to keep things together may have helped. I think Slumbering Guards scry ability is underrated in a deck like this. Very fun!
So I'd said that Cooped Up was the best combo with Yenna, since it's effectively 4W: Exile a creature (purposely not saying "target" because copied auras don't actually target, which should get around Hexproof). Scry 2. But I stand corrected: Cooped Up might be the best thing to do at Common, but I did not consider Parallel Lives.
As always, love the content. On the off chance that you have time to reply, I have a question. I am in a situation where I can get my hands on a box of modern horizons 2 to draft. Is it worth it? What's the format like?
If he'd taken Primal Vigor as well and had it, Yenna and Parallel Lives on the field, the first he copies would produce 4 copies and when he copied the other he'd get 64 copies. Any token put into play after that would definitely break the client as it'd make 1.18 x 10^21 copies.
The format is too fast. Just draft today a Yenna+enchantments deck. It was a fine 6-3, but i could keep just the removal enchantments plus those token auras. Sad.
Very ambitious deck but I don't know if this is the right format for doing crazy nonsense. You're very much forced to play by the rules of engagement in WOE but you're rewarded if you do. The 1/3 Faun has felt very underwhelming in my experience. You really need your early creatures to be able to trade off or apply pressure. That being said, gotta respect the hustle.
yup. you would think with all the rat token making they would have included some hoser cards that they almost include in every other set but nope. where are all the common or uncommon -2/-2, -1/-1 to everything or 1 damage to everything or even twinbolt type cards we see all the time? they are suspiciously absent this set. sad.

38:55 This is what we all wanted to see. Thank Luis. GG's.
2:55 and LSV is already imagining 64 knights, this is going to be a good one.
Here from 64 Knights :))
If LSV pulls this off, he’s a certified mad lad, which he already is
40:40 Can't believe you didn't say you had fun that game
That one game where we got to see it, all worth it !🤣
This has been my favorite draft of this set so far. Thanks for this one LSV!
Would have been a great deck had he just not splash the blue cards. But still always fun to watch LSV gameplay.
I groaned at the first Hatchng Plans and really really groaned at the second one 😂
To be fair he flooded out in two of those losses, though he died to his mana in the first match.
LSV doing his best commander impression with this one lol
Just the fact that these cards can be drafted together is wild enough. Seeing LSV try it out was pretty great!!
drafted this format once with my friends and first pack opened parallel lives and third pack opened gruff triplets - this combo won every game on instant :D Felt bad and also happy at the same time, as this combo is some kind of dream combo in limited :D
Absolutely love this. This is the LSV that we all love to watch.
Game one was the universe aligning to make it work, and the ripping our collective hearts out.
Man i learned a lot watching your limited videos! Thanks for getting me back into this crazy game 😆
Must like. Must comment. Must encourage beautiful, batshit insane combo drafting.
not getting to see lsv make 64 knights or 64 griffons has ruined my day

That is something the world needs to see! 😆
This deck is the physical manifestation of
" I don't know if it's good but it's definitely great ❤❤"
Ignoring so many Cooped Ups was maddening. It is one of the best Yenna cards.
Exactly. Yenna, cooped up is 5 mana recurring removal. I suppose everyone has their Timmy moment though.
LOVED the decision to play the Yenna/Parallel lives combo. Hated the decision to splash blue. But hell, got to see 8 bitterblossom tokens get made on one upkeep so what difference does it make? Lol

This was awesome! But there was one huge misplay: the client asked you after game 3 if you had fun and you skipped.

I feel like this draft was heavily influenced by LSV's cube drafts more than anything! Excited to see how it turns out.
40:35 Did you have fun in the match?
Skip. 😂
This was a very fun dream. I’m glad we got to see the brew!
This deck was cool, loved it !!!
2 picks in and this is the first time ever I've found myself wanting to skip the drafting section and go see the matches
This deck is why i love LSV drafts, you never know what he is up to

'Let's see if this stew bears fruit.'
LSV, 2023
stir the pot, let it cook
I'm totally here for these kind of decks even if It didn't work.
“Let’s see if this stew bears
fruit” 😂
Youre a better man than I, I absolutely would have taken the second token doubler.
Never have i wanted a deck to be successful as badly as i did this one lol
Abit greedy trying to splash bule and black. Very fun in the game the plan came together.
Hehe :) nice little intro animation now
The people who only watch the vintage cube vids missed out today.
"Proooobably better known as LSV"
The blue splash seemed too ambitious, consistently not hitting your colors made it tough to win games.
When you're meming you gotta go for it lol
@@7deuc2e38 you can meme without passing like 8 evolving wilds and playing 4 colors
i feel like maybe he’s aware of the jank level just based on him saying it over and over through the whole draft. clearly just having some fun
@@bekeleven evolving wilds isn't even that good, if it's crystal grottos or prisms sure
I drafted a very similar yenna deck yesterday...got trounced by just about everything!
Why do we get so few arena drafts compared to vintage? is it not popular?
Seems like every draft I've done. I say to myself, "this deck has some good synergies, it's going to be great".

I appreciate the attempt to live the dream.
This draft was the definition of getting lost in the sauce lmao

this deck was amazing, about as close as it gets to vintage Cube in a normal set
Thanks LSV.
You can take LSV out of the cube queues, but you can't take the cubing out of LSV.
Nooooooo not the green 2 drop rare pack two when we got this sick combo. That’s the tutor lol
With 2 hatching plans in deck, using the lightblades on the bunnicorn instead of quad blocking seems bad. (Not results oriented)
As always, love the content. On the off chance that you have time to reply, I have a question. I am in a situation where I can get my hands on a box of modern horizons 2 to draft. Is it worth it? What's the format like?
MH2 is an awesome draft format. There's a lot of board complexity, but the card designs are incredibly cool and the archetypes are pretty unique.
If he'd taken Primal Vigor as well and had it, Yenna and Parallel Lives on the field, the first he copies would produce 4 copies and when he copied the other he'd get 64 copies. Any token put into play after that would definitely break the client as it'd make 1.18 x 10^21 copies.
I was like "oh another woe draft maybe I'll watch it even though it isn't vintage" ...and then I read the first two cards...
You passed an imodane's recruiter!? With a parallel lives?!?
I feel like saffronolive would have loved that deck
One time I got parallel lives going was with Triplets. Because 5 is better than 3
okkaaayyyyy ill watch a non vintage draft ;)
Non vintage draft is the only draft i bother to understand 🥲
Hol'up... let him cook
Him not taking primal vigor tsk that said pretty good deck
don't understand passing on 2 Cooped Up in pack 3 when this is everything we wanted to copy and stay alive
God what a good meme.
I hate arena but this one got my attention.
This was, in fact, a fruit stew.
Dubious concoction
deck is missing a Lorthos
Griffin aerie was the cut me thinks
Engagement
Not LSV forcing the 4 color again
This was a DASTARDLY draft
Not taking Recruiter P2P2 when it's one of the best cards in the format and goes with Parellel Lives perfectly is pretty crazy to me
Bitterblossom p3p3 makes me angry
Heartbreaking run.
LSV steadfastly refused to eat his vegetables at any point during that draft! 😆 That being said, he also drew pretty poorly during the matches.
5 plains with 3 one drops and Grasp of Fate seems kind of ambitious
Hello lsv
The format is too fast. Just draft today a Yenna+enchantments deck. It was a fine 6-3, but i could keep just the removal enchantments plus those token auras. Sad.

This format is just way, way too fast for anything fun like this. It's actually a terribly boring aggro meta.
Hah.
This was some amazing nonsense.
Day 4 of asking LSV to play (cube) with only alternate arts
E
Too much vintage cube is bad for the regular draft.
lsv is insanely greedy omg
This format is unfortunately just too fast to be creative. Aggro has too much reach and too much width
yup. you would think with all the rat token making they would have included some hoser cards that they almost include in every other set but nope. where are all the common or uncommon -2/-2, -1/-1 to everything or 1 damage to everything or even twinbolt type cards we see all the time? they are suspiciously absent this set. sad.
Passes primal vigor.
Dislike.
Did seem strange that if he's trying to meme, passing an extra copy of one of the parts of his 2-card combo...
Primal Vigor also doubles for your opponents, it's bad@@brianh5844
