I attribute close to all of my limited success over the years to Luis and Marshall. I've been playing since Revised, around when LSV started, but there's absolutely no substitute for the depth of gaming prowess and knowledge of this guy. I also had double Neva this week and it worked out real nice. They loop.
Guess Neva, Stalked by Nightmares should have foreseen that she would be Taken by Nightmares. That's an amusing sequence of cards to read out loud in game.
Great video as always! Really like this content. I was a bit surprised how LSV completely glossed over Lightblades. Especially in a defensive deck, it looks like a good removal spell that also enables Bargain (see him having to give up Hatching Plans for it).
Oh man, pack 2 pick 4. Kellan's Lightblades is sooo good! Especially with bargain stuff like Vault and seas. Virtue of courage is pretty legit in UR spells deck. Get a couple of the 0/4 pingers and you churn through your deck so fast.
In the last game, trading the fliers for one of their tokens, knowing the final chapter pumps all creatures is probably worth it to be safe, even knowing you are losing out on a little value if a Swamp is drawn. The deck has plenty of value and generally getting to the late game is likely a win. Definitely an understandable line, but on retrospect, losing potential value for safety is probably a beneficial trade off, considering the build of the deck.
Its good for me to watch these so I can get your opinions on the bonus sheet cards. I never know how to evaluate them on mtga bc untapped doesnt have your ratings for them haha
Sometimes it's fun to battle hard for the best possible mediocre result when your deck ends up being super bland. This deck lead to a lot of good games, even if it didn't stomp.
Celebrant sitting next to the vigil pick 8 would make me do a double take. The U/W tap deck needs to be aggressive though. All the payoffs only work if you tap something that is untapped already and half the tappers only work on your own turn, so if they're attacking you your deck doesn't work anymore. Plus you just naturally get triple value from stun counters if you're attacking, more if you're going under them. If you're trying to make sharae and snaremasters work, I don't think you take stopgaps over 6th pick hopeful vigils with 2 celebrants in your deck (could have had 3!). You go wide to keep them on the backfoot hiding behind big monsters then nudge them over with tap effects on their tall men when they think they've stabilised, and housemouse>vigil>celebrant>vigil+2drop is very wide for turn 4. I don't think it was here though, you didn't see any 4/4 vigilance guys and only one sharae. It needs too many uncommons that are decent enough to be playable in other decks to be good imo. It doesn't need all the uncommon/rare payoffs in the world to be a viable strategy, but it does need a few to 7-x, unlike food or ur spells or faeries.
1:04:44 my lil aggro monkey brain is so confused at choosing to not curve out with these hands. If it werent a pro i would think its a big mistake but i guess he must know better eh haha
Ive been finding that random creatures.dec is quite problematic for the slower control decks in this format. just not enough long term solutions to spewing dorks into play.
@@clcallag Thanks! Good to know before I start drafting. I should have read a) read the card properly or b) doing that to opp creature and getting Courtier for that MV would be a little strong. Thanks for replying 👍
@@jarowimy161 Happy to help! We all forget to RTFC every now and again. I’m also happy to report that, despite not being able to curse an opponent’s creature, the Courtier is still quite good. Works wonders with Celebration, Bargain, *and* other Role Tokens. Best of luck with your drafts!
I can not believe you won game 2! Like unimaginable for the better part of it.

Your demeanor is so admirable. You're always so calm; I love it.
Great second game! It was a really close one and you played great!
grazi amigo!

Im loving the Eldraine drafts! It feels like a pretty fun format with adventures and everything.
Yes! It feels like a very unique format, very very cool :D
Very excited for more Eldraine drafts!!!
Loved the Big Lebowski reference, if it was intentional :)

he needs to get blown out by it a few times and then he'll be warmer to it

46:20 you should have read your opponent's name beforehand 😂
Wow nice games LSV!

Extraordinary Journey is the new Parallax Wave.
5:50 - celebrant can bounce the cursed roll from the courtier

5:09 Guess you could say you're Stockpilling Celebrants

Tough cookie into greta would have been great
That game 2, dang.

1:20 Don't you just put this on your opponent's biggest/best creature to make it a 1/1?
You cannot - when Cursed Courtier enters the battlefield the Cursed Role token must be attached to it. You can’t choose where the Role goes.

Lmao lsv complains his opponent had 10 points of face dmg when his opponent's name is "taketen"
You can bargain to get rid of a role can't you? I thought they were considered enchantments?
“That’s just prime” is from Beast Wars.
And stop trying to whistle.
modern sucks, even thou there is nothing wrong with new set which is great in fluff vice.
