I sold my China and Splash. Snare, Base, 1 Tom, 2 Crash, 1 Ride and a highhat is fine. Base is Base, with all other Options you get at least 3 different sounds... I had a big drumset, but setting it up and traveling with it is a Nightmare.
I know you did Chris Turner with Oceans Ate Alaska in the past, but the solo project stuff he released in the last year would be good fodder for a first viewing reaction, I suggest "Triggered" with Thomas Lang.

One thing I've noticed about most good drummers is how effortlessly they play. Like it's no big deal.
