      @@johncampbell1853 John, I actually ordered a Hudson Oscar 336 Pro. It's basically the same capacity as the LT15 wide. I chose it because delivery time was actually faster than Woodmizer and it's about $2,000 cheaper. Stay tuned on my channel, and hopefully it will be coming soon!

    This might seem like a silly question... you are using diesel for lube. This is $3.09 per litre here in New Zealand + Road User charges (3.8 letters = 1 US gallon...) I have noted in previous videos (or newer ones, not sure of the order I am watching some of these.... that you are using diesel as lube.... Why not use soapy water? Love your channel by the way, love the lifestyle.

    The wood will warp somewhat after drying. Especially at the center. For this reason, you want to leave extra material. When the wood is dry, you run it thru a jointer to make it flat again. Some material will be lost in the process

    • @falllineridge
      @falllineridge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've tried that before, and it does make things go faster. However, it's pretty fussy trying to flip and move two logs at a time around on the mill. Plus the sawdust tends to spray all over the place between the logs.

    Just over a year ago I got very frustrated with the amount of ad's I was watching and the frequency in any particular video. So I broke down and bought TH-cam "Premium" and have been a fairly satisfied customer since. However lately (Over the course of the last several months) I have been seeing content creators advertising for their sponsors. Ok I get it, TH-cam creators need money etc, etc. But I (And many others I may add) have paid good money out of our own pockets for the exclusive reason to NOT see ad's in videos we are watching! Yet content creators go around the subscription service I had paid for and put in their own ad's! To me that's dirty and pushes me further and further away from the "subscribe" button. I know you get paid just for me clicking on the video weather I watch the ad's or not. But that is a dirty tactic and I will never subscribe to content creators under those terms. End of rant!

    Diesel as a lube? So your saw is spraying diesel fuel all over the place? What, in a day it would be like dumping 5 gallons of diesel on the ground? This seems stupidly unnecessary, and will probably make every tree hugger go into spasms. I'm not a tree hugger, but I'm also not stupid, what is wrong with you? I use water, and cut the pitchiest white pine known to mankind. Never had a problem with 'buildup'. This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Granted I've only been milling for a couple years, but - hey, may sure you mill next to a waterway, or where you plan on drilling your well! Do other shitheads really use diesel as well? A gallon for 10-15 logs? So you aren't getting any real cooling from the lube, which is the main reason for the lube (it isn't to lubricate, it's to keep the blade from overheating - 1 gal in 10 logs won't cool the blade enough to be effective).
