@@danielblanchette8593 or you know, if it became a popular enough kit because two armies use it and both really want it they could make more to sell more
It's attached to the mutalith vortex beast, insanely expensive, and either only available online or always out of stock. I can't be surprised no one has seen it.
Withe the death guard, you know there's a 3 marine pack right? throw that in, make it a squad of 10. Plus the 3 pack is stupid expensive so the """value""" of the box goes way up as a selling point
That’s actually been removed from the GW online store last I checked, which makes me hopeful they’ve realized it was stupid and they’re just squishing it into the regular plague marine box
My idea for a Sisters combat patrol instead of the travesty they gave us: -A Palatine -A Battle Sister Squad -A full unit of Repentia -A full Retributor Squad -A pair of Penitent Engines This is 475 points and about 285 dollars MSRP. I wanted to do a Castigator to get to 500 instead of 475, but I think the bean counters would poo-poo it as it edges over 300 dollars of kits with the new values. And I went with a Palatine over a Canoness because A) every other box gives you a Canoness, and B) the Palatine can lead all 3 of the infantry units, which gives you list variety. EDIT: *WELL DAMN IF THOSE POINT CHANGES WEREN'T A KICK IN THE TEETH.*
This is pretty much what I'd consider acceptable too. Sacresancts are dog (but do look cool), Flagellants aren't Sisters, Canoness' are a dime a dozen and without penitents it's missing a stand out unit.
@@knightsljx If you do that, the box doesn't even clear 400 points. Sisters unfortunately have very low point values per kit, so hitting 500 points for under 300 dollars while also feeling emblematic of the army is tricky. In the long run, repentia and penitents are more representative of Sisters' theme than a tank, and buying a Castigator down the line would be cheaper than buying the kits to fill out Repentia and Penitents.
Brad’s Slaanesh list IS possible and logistically easy. The old Start Collecting box that they discontinued is 10 Demonettes, 5 Seekers and the Exalted chariot and the instructions explicitly told you how to assemble the chariot. I didn’t even know it was two chariots when I did it. It’s a good start point for Slaanesh.
Id argue that the future Tsons character will be a Sorcerer in Terminator Armor as an official model. Every army is getting a new model this edition. So I think the future list will be Tsons Sorcerer in Terminator 10 x Rubric 5x SOTs 10x Tzangor
I'd prefer new models with new rules. Wishful thinking: new space marine 2 game focuses on TS and progresses the lore that gives us more troops and at least a psychic dread. Imagine demi-awakened rubric elites. Much better than one model refresh.
but have you considered: 1. The khopesh is the coolest sword in 40k 2. X on Disk are cool 3. Lorewise there exists 1ksons who dual wield Khopeshes KHENETAI ON DISK OR RIOT
they actually did that with a more recent high speed train creator set. its very small (like 100ish pieces and 10-20 dollars id imagine) but its mostly just a guide to combine two of the set
A couple cracks at the chaos undivided demons boxes: demon prince, bloodletters with a bloodmaster, nurglings, screamers, and seekers. Comes to a total of 270 at new Msrp. Plague bearers, poxbringer, 6 flamers, skull cannon, and fiends. 256 at new Msrp. Both meet the points requirements of at least 500
Hello Poorhammer! I’ve been watching for about 4 months, dipping my toes into the hobby. Using your rules from the last episode on this, I’ve made a SM patrol im really proud of: 10 assault intercessors as Battleline troops 5 Sternguard Veterans as elite ranged Brutalis or Ballistus dreadnought as a centerpiece And Chaplain as the HQ unit. Love listening to you guys, Can’t wait to finish my Salamanders!
The foetid vs fetid thing comes down to the character/diphthong œ. Medieval english had several characters like this, like æ, which in turn is why grey and gray are both valid spellings of the color, it used to be græy.
That vtuber bloke had great insights that helped me during the building process of my sisters of battle. I think that the vtuber gimmick was very static and needless to the content to the video, but his advice was applicable, concise, and more importantly, the only thing in the TH-cam search that seemed whatsoever relevant to what I was trying to find. Thank you curious vuber.
Christian von Carmian is great, and his advice is phenomenal. Funny to complain about his being a VTuber on a channel where the personalities are actually static images, lol
After the first episode I tried to fix the new necron combat patrol and it makes me so mad because it's an awful discount box but the perfect entry point for necrons because it gives you a taste of the 3 C's of necrons, Command, Canoptek, Cdestroyers. Especially considering the push to make Destroyers all melee with the codex
The consumer specific episodes (cheapest/most expensive armies, etc) are the best content on this channel. Something about the lists, value discussion, and comparisons to other products hits my tism just right😊
As an Imperial Fist player, and as someone who wants Brad to suffer, I’d like combat patrols of codex compliant chapters, just smaller versions of the Christmas boxes from a few years ago. They’d be terrible because each box would be led by the named characters like Tor Garadon or Darneth Lysander for Fists, but having fists, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands, White Scars, etc. talked about would be fun
Plus with the Space marine wide range of units there hopefully wouldn't be too much overlap with eachother. + throwing it out there, seeing every loyal legions themed combat patrols on the shops shelf could be more helpful to new players. Instead of "Where are the rest of them?"
@@notjarek237 yeah, heavy intercessors and aggressors for fists with a vindicator showpiece, flamers with salamanders, inceptors with raven guard maybe
Salamanders: Gravis Captain, 3 Aggressors, 5 Intercessors, 10 Infernus, & Brutalis. Nice and fluffy with about a 40% discount (I'd also accept a Gravis Apothecary & 3 Eradicators instead of the Captain/Aggressors)
As someone who plays Votann, the dream combat patrol would be Thunderkyn, Cthonian Beserks, yaegirs , a sagitaur, and an iron master for an HQ. Price and point wise its fairly off (445points at a 54% discount), but Votann is default mad expensive, and you wouldn’t get any real value for buying multiple boxes. It would be the only way to collect thunderkyn, yaegirs, and an iron master outside of buying the model separately. It may not completely represent the whole faction as good as some others, but it’s a neat looking and playing team.
@38:00 bloodletters, flamers, beast of nurgle, slaanesh charriot basically the same thing you were going for but swap the slaanesh/tzeentch selections one of each god, 37% discount, and shows off what each of the gods "does", slaanesh is fast, nurgle tough, khorne hits hard, tzeentch shoots and is weird works for getting multiple because every one of those units is something you would happily field 2 of
About the Exalted Seeker Chariot, GW used to sell an exalted box in addition to the regular chariot and in a surprisingly useful cheap move just printed one set of instructions for both boxes.
I honestly love the idea of an army that is a couple of smaller knights or even bigger ones, with little support crew running around beneath their feet. Cause like in a warfare setting, anything that big and complex will have a retinue of SOME kind moving with it, so being able to combine knights with other imperium units just makes SENSE in so many ways.
I think I have a kinda undevided list potential start collecting (555 points) Chaos Daemons At 555 points Daemon Prince of Chaos with Wings (180 point) Plaguebearers (110 points) 10 man Bloodcrushers (110 points) 3 man Screamers (75 points) 3 man Seekers (80 points) 5 man
With Space Marine 2 the perfect thousand sons box once again has zangors in it. 10 zangors, 10 rubrics, a helbrute and sorc on disc. If there's the points for it, the 3 sorcs. And if we're really pushing it, a chaos spawn with custome instructions on how to kitbash the main villian sorc.
Actually due to an FAQ earlier this year, you could have ran pure agents with knights being splashed into them. Granted, you don't get an army rule - But it would've made the box be able to have multiple characters and infantry squads. It's technically legal!
Berílio's ABSOLUTE ROASTING on the audio version is better. I love listening to you guys at work. But as always, Berílio's video editing makes watching the yt edit completely worth a second listen.
Realistic Sisters Combat Patrol ideas: Oops all Sisters (340 points, $225): - 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors - 5x Retributors - 10x Sisters Novitiate Squads - Palatine (or any other Sisters character) This is pretty nice because you can't have enough regular Sisters (BSS/Dominions/Retributors) and including the Retributors means you can actually have Multi-Melta in your BSS. The Novitiate squad is nice because you can use it in Kill Team, but it's also a perfect kit to kitbash characters out of. Maximum Dual-Building (330 points, $225): - 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors - 5x Seraphim/Zephyrim - 2x Mortifier/Penitent Engine - Palatine (unfortunately no good dual-build characters) Obviously would be nice to fit in more kits/points, but I used the same layout as the current Sisters CB (3 squads and a character) and tried to maximize dual-building kits. If you're willing to kitbash the Palatine to other characters (or accept a smaller discount) you can buy 6 of these before you max out your Mortifier/Penitent Engines and you still wouldn't have maximum amounts of the other two kits. Penitent Host Theme box (530 points, $238): - 10x Battle Sisters Squad (required Battleline, but also kind of needed for value because we don't have many Penitent squads) - 10x Arco-flagellants - 2x Penitent Engines/Mortifiers - 10x Repentia Squad - Ministorum Priest (yes I'm cheating a bit giving away a "new" character, but he's the most thematic option) Box doesn't personally excite me all that much, but it would be a great starter for the new detachment. Trying to get close to 500 without pushing the limit or committing to Penitent (480 points, $239): - 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors - 10x Arco-flagellants - 3x Paragon Warsuits - 1x Palatine (or any other Sisters character) This is basically what we got with the Canoness swapped to Palatine and Celestian Sacresants swapped to Paragon Warsuits, but this gets us a tiny bit more value (but still well within margins) and gets much closer to the 500 point limit. My dream Combat Patrol that pushes the limits while staying within the rules would be the Oops All Sisters list plus a box of Seraphim/Zephyrim. It would only be 410 points and $287 MSRP, but it would be a cool box that gives you the core of your army. Getting the special weapons on the Seraphim sprue and more weapon options from the full BSS box and Retributor box would be really nice for people who bought lots of the old CB.
The Druk CP is kinda perfect in its way mechanically, but I also always felt like it should have representation from the 3 Druk subfactions. I feel like the ravager could be replaced by a Talos and Reavers, and it would still have a big centrepiece model, but also representation from the Cults and Covens. Talos/Cronos are expensive and having one in the CP would have been so nice.
Awesome episode, I was thinking about the idea of a Chaos Knights/Daemons soup Combat Patrol when I saw this episode pop up - glad to see there was something similar cooking here 🔥
I’m fine with whatever you guys do for more combat patrols, I find them interesting to look at and think about what an equivalent in The Old World would look like
You can build the exalted seeker chariot from the standard box- i had two and a hellflayer. Whether you would want to ever buy that hellkit and be continually stabbed, and then have the chariot collapse at the slightest breeze is another question. Incredibly fun on the tabletop, and it even snags minis that get too close to the whips or blades and scratches them to bits, so it's lore accurate too 😂
Actually, my Votan army is a launch box, a combat patrol, and a Christmas box (which accentuates the former two very well). I was gifted Brokyr Thunderkyn and bought a Hekaton, brokyr iron-master, and Hearthkyn salvagers separately, which together makes about 2000 points. (also the kill team termination is on pre-order.) so yeah, I really like the box we got though I have to admit, it works because I bought that hekaton almost immediately after the launch box so that stands in for the sagitaur for me.
A note on the Lord of Virulence, in 10th it's currently a very popular unit alongside Mortarion and 3 Plagueburst crawlers, letting their mortar hit on 2s and ignoring cover, and if it's not alone it's usually leading Deathshrouds where its ability turns them into a very nice overwatch threat, plus they're generally tankier than Blightlords. My personal dream DG combat patrol would be 2 boxes of plague marines, either the standalone icon bearer+a Biologus Putrifier/Foul Blightspawn/Tallyman OR the Chosen of Mortarion box (something that doesn't sell well because it's so overpriced), and then some combination of Foetid Bloat Drones, Myphitic Blight Haulers, and Poxwalkers to make up any price difference. By having 2 units of Plague Marines and either the icon bearer or the champion from Chosen of Mortarion you could build them as intended OR turn it into 3 units of 5. Considering there's legitimate merit to running 60 plague marines that'd make it a nice box to buy multiples of. Alternatively, make a box with a Foetid Bloat Drone and a Lord of Contagion, plus literally anything else. Currently the Lord of Contagion is impossible to get first hand because it released in the Dark Imperium box on the same sprue as a Foetid Bloat Drone. Even if it's locked behind a $150 box, it'd be nice to have some way to get the model.
Had a friend trying to get me into the actual Warhammer 40k game since I only read the books and played some of the video games. I basically wrote it off since my favorite faction is the Thousand Sons, and he also knew how bad their box was. Now, I'm tempted to just run the list that you all gave and see if they want to run regular rules instead of combat patrol.
Loved the hungrier Brad cut and the chapter division in the vid, specially the second to last one. I now space marine get too many boxes but maybe for the fourth version of this chapter you could do a white scars or iron hand combat patrol, just to make people dream that they will get more lore
I feel with the last one, it’s what Knights should be. An ally to bring sometimes. More like the Mercs from Warmachine, a mix of random stuff from smaller factions from the lore and named characters. Make it so you can have a limited amount of points of them in other armies. Even limited which can join certain factions . Then have the army to at can be a bunch of random units all fighting together. You could have detachments based around who is your Warlord, like the knight one or inquisitors or a grand alliance so you could get other units from factions.
Helverin, Warglaive, Callidus/Vindicare, and one of the infantry like voidsmen or exaction squad may be best and would hit about 500 points for a Knight Combat Patrol. I'm a Knight player and I include a Vindy in all of my lists simply because I like the idea of a precise sniper picking off characters while Knights push forward and do Knight things.
So funny thing about the exalted chariot is that it was the centerpiece model for the Start collecting and the instructions were how to build the combo I didn’t know you could build the smaller ones until after I built the big one
I tried this with admech and here's what I got: We need a battle line unit, so in goes some skitarii. One of my goals was to include something from each facet of admech, being a vehicles/machines, cult mechanicus, and skitarii(already covered). I went with an iron strider as the centerpiece and vehicle, as they are quite good ATM and it is preferable to have several. For cultMech, I went with electro priests. These are very good in melee and will mesh well with the HQ. For the HQ, I went with the tech priest Dominus as it can join either the skitarii or electro priests, making both more survivable on the tabletop. Lastly, I went with castellan robots and a data Smith, who all come in the same box. They represent the Legio cybernetica and once more are very versatile. Most of these kits are also 2 in 1, encouraging further purchases. This adds up to 535 points which would cost £167, so a 40% discount, similar to the old genestealer patrol, which makes sense due to admech's current status as a horde army with elite costs.
Daemons of chaos is a hard box to balance which is why i love the age of sigmar approach which is to combine mortals and daemons under one roster. You can run either or both and it just works.
One thing about the "Chaos Deamons" combat patrol, it's actually perfect. the fact is all you need is one and you have an army for both settings to get into warhammer, because all those models in it, are in both settings, have current and always be present rules and are fine if not fantastic repeat buys. if you really wanna go ham on the dog spam karanark is a fine low cost option for summons in both settings as well. or go heavier khorne and grab some khornite berserkers and the like. then boom you have a roughly 500 point list for both settings for that one friend who has friends who plays both.
Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol Daemon Prince Plaguebearers Flamers Fiends Flesh Hounds You get your centerpiece Daemon Prince, you have your objective holders in Plague Bearers, you have a ranged skirmisher unit in the Flamers, and you get two fast attacks for the melee gods. You even get synergy with having two Heroic Interventions for the Flamers when they get charged. Assuming a 40% discount, comes to 169.8, which is 2 bucks more than their current Combat Patrol, and comes to 575 points.
On the AoS side DoK boxes have been a consistent source of Doomfire warlocks(and probably only since people don't like a squad of dudes in their all female force) despite them being able to be built as some cities cavalry thing. The powers above are OK with including kits with out of faction build options.
My cope take is that once they have all of the god specific CSM legions released this edition they’ll change it to god specific factions probably for 11th which is when they could start updating some of the older kits.
Here you have aeldari and harlequin lists for future inspirtation :D Prices as of what I have seen on warhammer page today. Harlequin first (because I think this is better one for rebuyability, since you can take this thrice and have 75% of your army) -Troupe Master + Troupe in one box - 130p/45 usd - Starweaver - 80p/45 usd - Voidweaver - 125p/45 usd - two boxes of Skyweavers (4 bikes) - 190p/116 usd total of 525 points and 251 usd, which should make this box have 36% discount If you buy this one thrice, you basically have most of Harlequin army. Then you can buy either more troupes + starweavers, or some support characters - Death Jester or Solitaire if you want to have pure harlequin army. Craftworld Aeldari box (breaking tradition and not putting farseer into it) - Autarch Wayleaper - 115/32,75 usd - Guardian Defenders - 100p/60 usd - Howling Banshees - 70p/62,5 usd - Falcon - 140p/62,5 usd - Support Weapons - 135p/30 usd total of 560 points and 247,75 usd, which make this box have 35% discount I put there some of more used units, such as Falcon and Autarch Wayleaper (even if Falcon is more used together with banshees)
Love the Knights + Agents combat patrol, cause I love playing silly frige imperial stuff with Agents. If they fixed the rules to allow for an all Agents list, you could do the Rogue Trader, 5 Armsmen, 10 Subductors, and 2 of the Warglaves for 565 pts and 219.5 US MSRP. So only like a 27% discount. But it gives you a leader that can lead some shooting battleline, a half decent melee screen unit, and 2 small knights to run around with. On repeat buy, you can build the arbites as either of the shotgun squads (Vigilant or Exaction) you can form the Voidsmen into 1 block of 10 led by a Rogue Trader, and if you pick up a Naval Brecher kill team you can have the 2nd Rogue Trader lead them. That plus 4 armigers is not completely terrible. Outside price of course.
all i want is Siam Hain eldar box... so like 1x Farseer Skyrunner 3x Shining Spears 3x Shroud Runners 6x Windriders 1x Vyper done 515 points. maybe dump the Shining spears for another Vyper or some warlocks on jetbikes OR set of Swooping hawks
My favorite part of Combat Patrol Chaos Daemons is that its on the Blades of Khorne page for AoS. Because the list is legal in both games, which is so funny to me.
I came up with a different Tyranid Combat Patrol: 1. A Swarm lord which can also be made into a Hive Tyrant or Flying Hive Tyrant. 2. 20x Termagaunts. 3. 2x Ripper Swarms. 4. 3x Hive Guard which can also made into Tyrant Guard. 5. A Lictor. 27 Models. 510 points minimum, 565 maximum. I am sure it's too good a deal, but thought it was a good start for a new player and the right amount of points. A Biovore/Pyrovore could replace the Lictor to bring the model count to 30 with spore mines and 20 Hormagaunts could replace the Termagaunts but you probably don't want two of that box with 40 Hormagaunts.
Agents of the Imperium actually can be run by itself now as of the January dataslate, so long as you dont select a detachment on army construction. Its even shown as separate on the 40k app.

My idea for a Sisters combat patrol instead of the travesty they gave us:
-A Palatine
-A Battle Sister Squad
-A full unit of Repentia
-A full Retributor Squad
-A pair of Penitent Engines

I wanted to do a Castigator to get to 500 instead of 475, but I think the bean counters would poo-poo it as it edges over 300 dollars of kits with the new values. Lore wise it makes sense to have more Palatines than Canoness’ anyway.

Sorry the best we can do is a canonness with jump pack, 3 units of 3 flagellants and a rhino.
throw out the Repentia and Penitent Engines and you could do a Castigator
@@knightsljx If you do that, the box doesn't even clear 400 points. Sisters unfortunately have very low point values per kit, so hitting 500 points for under 300 dollars while also feeling emblematic of the army is tricky. In the long run, repentia and penitents are more representative of Sisters' theme than a tank, and buying a Castigator down the line would be cheaper than buying the kits to fill out Repentia and Penitents.
But Brad, aren't YOU a vtuber?
Technically he would be a png tuber
I love Von Carmian! He does have really good insight into the game and if you play GSC or Sisters of Battle, he is basically mandatory viewing

So I think the future list will be
Tsons Sorcerer in Terminator
10 x Rubric
5x SOTs
10x Tzangor
I'd prefer new models with new rules. Wishful thinking: new space marine 2 game focuses on TS and progresses the lore that gives us more troops and at least a psychic dread. Imagine demi-awakened rubric elites. Much better than one model refresh.
I want them to double down and remove the terminator and add another 20 zangors bcs it would be so fckn funny
but have you considered:
1. The khopesh is the coolest sword in 40k
2. X on Disk are cool
3. Lorewise there exists 1ksons who dual wield Khopeshes
KHENETAI ON DISK OR RIOT
@@danielbalatoni3622ts sons using they powers to control Tyranids so you get more tzangor esque units lol
I like that Berilio used the Chaos Knights logo for the surprise segment, just to show that it is, in fact, chaos.
41:40 to be fair, LEGO used to suggest buying multiple Bionicles at the end of the instructions if you wanted to build the voltron'd Bionicles
they actually did that with a more recent high speed train creator set. its very small (like 100ish pieces and 10-20 dollars id imagine) but its mostly just a guide to combine two of the set
Using your rules from the last episode on this, I’ve made a SM patrol im really proud of:
10 assault intercessors as Battleline troops
5 Sternguard Veterans as elite ranged
Brutalis or Ballistus dreadnought as a centerpiece
And Chaplain as the HQ unit.
Love listening to you guys, Can’t wait to finish my Salamanders!
I would buy this
I don't even play Space Marines anymore and I want that box
@@christophersmith8848 thank you! I honestly just picked them cuz I thought they were cool
@@tomasmichaels642 That is the best reason
A dreadnought is another tier over a impulsor btw
The foetid vs fetid thing comes down to the character/diphthong œ. Medieval english had several characters like this, like æ, which in turn is why grey and gray are both valid spellings of the color, it used to be græy.
That vtuber bloke had great insights that helped me during the building process of my sisters of battle. I think that the vtuber gimmick was very static and needless to the content to the video, but his advice was applicable, concise, and more importantly, the only thing in the TH-cam search that seemed whatsoever relevant to what I was trying to find.
Thank you curious vuber.
What's their channel name?
@@ShadowCoH316 It's a mouthful! "40k Vtuber: Christian Von Carmian"
@@ShadowCoH316 Christian Von Carmian
Christian von Carmian is great, and his advice is phenomenal. Funny to complain about his being a VTuber on a channel where the personalities are actually static images, lol
he's also a british vampire
After the first episode I tried to fix the new necron combat patrol and it makes me so mad because it's an awful discount box but the perfect entry point for necrons because it gives you a taste of the 3 C's of necrons, Command, Canoptek, Cdestroyers. Especially considering the push to make Destroyers all melee with the codex
ok, cdestroyers got me good. XD
It’s a travesty of a box which doubly hurts since it’s just last editions starter box with a Doomstalker added
Just Gonna say Imperial Agents getting their own codex makes this video age like fine wine
@@Corcook How many points are jump pack assault intercessors? Those might be neat for a Raven Guard box. Or for a proper Blood Angels box.
@@SilimSavertin they’re only 80 points
Salamanders: Gravis Captain, 3 Aggressors, 5 Intercessors, 10 Infernus, & Brutalis. Nice and fluffy with about a 40% discount
(I'd also accept a Gravis Apothecary & 3 Eradicators instead of the Captain/Aggressors)
Lol the Slaanesh Combat Patrol was basically the AOS Slaanesh Vanguard box with Fiends added.
Undivided / combined Daemon Combat Patrol:
- Daemon Prince with wings (character and center piece)
- Plaguebearers (battleline)
- Fiends
- Flamers
- Flesh Hounds
540 points with roughly 45% discount.
Love the Christian Von Carmien shout out!
It's good to hear that Brad and Eric will be raising Berillio's paycheck and offering him an extra meal! So kind of them!
@38:00
bloodletters, flamers, beast of nurgle, slaanesh charriot
basically the same thing you were going for but swap the slaanesh/tzeentch selections
one of each god, 37% discount, and shows off what each of the gods "does", slaanesh is fast, nurgle tough, khorne hits hard, tzeentch shoots and is weird
works for getting multiple because every one of those units is something you would happily field 2 of
Coming back to this after the Agents of the Imperium Codex drop.
the secret combo box at the end is exactly what i was hoping it was
That "Bradelio" bit was great.
So fuckin happy when you went with Mutalith Vortex 13:09 spot on Centerpiece monster
Oh hell yeah. About to start work and I see this pop up to work too. Perfect timing
I appreciate these because if I ever get into the game on the small scale, it'll be at the patrol level and I appreciate your input
You guys are awesome! Thank you for another great episode and for getting back to your fan mails
About the Exalted Seeker Chariot, GW used to sell an exalted box in addition to the regular chariot and in a surprisingly useful cheap move just printed one set of instructions for both boxes.
These servitors are very entertaining to watch.
This is by far my favorite type of video you guys make. It is just so cool hearing your thought process on making box sets!
Your Slaanesh Daemons CP is the Start Collecting Slaanesh Daemons with a Contorted Epitome
I love how so many warhammer channels I watch make a point to mention each other! Great episode as always!
you got me brad. I was curious at the start and looked at chapter titles to see what combat patrols you did.
I think I have a kinda undevided list
potential start collecting (555 points)
Chaos Daemons
At 555 points
Daemon Prince of Chaos with Wings (180 point)
Plaguebearers (110 points) 10 man
Bloodcrushers (110 points) 3 man
Screamers (75 points) 3 man
Seekers (80 points) 5 man
With Space Marine 2 the perfect thousand sons box once again has zangors in it.
This is such a fun exercise to do! Please do a video for the AoS spearhead boxes some time aswell!
I just discovered Poorhammer Podcast recently and I have been loving it!
Berílio's ABSOLUTE ROASTING on the audio version is better. I love listening to you guys at work. But as always, Berílio's video editing makes watching the yt edit completely worth a second listen.
Realistic Sisters Combat Patrol ideas:
Oops all Sisters (340 points, $225):
- 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors
- 5x Retributors
- 10x Sisters Novitiate Squads
- Palatine (or any other Sisters character)
This is pretty nice because you can't have enough regular Sisters (BSS/Dominions/Retributors) and including the Retributors means you can actually have Multi-Melta in your BSS. The Novitiate squad is nice because you can use it in Kill Team, but it's also a perfect kit to kitbash characters out of.
Maximum Dual-Building (330 points, $225):
- 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors
- 5x Seraphim/Zephyrim
- 2x Mortifier/Penitent Engine
- Palatine (unfortunately no good dual-build characters)
Obviously would be nice to fit in more kits/points, but I used the same layout as the current Sisters CB (3 squads and a character) and tried to maximize dual-building kits. If you're willing to kitbash the Palatine to other characters (or accept a smaller discount) you can buy 6 of these before you max out your Mortifier/Penitent Engines and you still wouldn't have maximum amounts of the other two kits.
Penitent Host Theme box (530 points, $238):
- 10x Battle Sisters Squad (required Battleline, but also kind of needed for value because we don't have many Penitent squads)
- 10x Arco-flagellants
- 2x Penitent Engines/Mortifiers
- 10x Repentia Squad
- Ministorum Priest (yes I'm cheating a bit giving away a "new" character, but he's the most thematic option)
Box doesn't personally excite me all that much, but it would be a great starter for the new detachment.
Trying to get close to 500 without pushing the limit or committing to Penitent (480 points, $239):
- 10x Battle Sisters Squad/Dominions/heavies can be used as Retributors
- 10x Arco-flagellants
- 3x Paragon Warsuits
- 1x Palatine (or any other Sisters character)
This is basically what we got with the Canoness swapped to Palatine and Celestian Sacresants swapped to Paragon Warsuits, but this gets us a tiny bit more value (but still well within margins) and gets much closer to the 500 point limit.
Another thing to consider with the current boxes; GW is trying to alternate the types of models within the faction that you get in the discount boxes.
thank you for what you do, I always look forward to watching your podcast. You all are the reason I got into warhammer and I’m glad I did!
Of note with the votann patrol, the new unit they got in the latest kill team would fit well in place of the thunderkyn
@@DustinRobinson-d4z Right?
"It's perfect *buuuuuuuuuuut*..."
Oh my gosh I didn’t know Berillio *cough* I mean Brad did that apology 😂 This is why I like listening to the Podcast and watching the videos 24:23
The mutalith vortex beast actually does have the Daemon keyword in the index.
Honestly I didn't check after so long of it being a "Totally not a daemon" due to the old WHFB holdover stuff.
Awesome episode, I was thinking about the idea of a Chaos Knights/Daemons soup Combat Patrol when I saw this episode pop up - glad to see there was something similar cooking here 🔥
I’m fine with whatever you guys do for more combat patrols, I find them interesting to look at and think about what an equivalent in The Old World would look like
I have to say, we dont need them for anything! BUT I FREAKING LOVE the littel Price tag animations from this episode :D
(also the kill team termination is on pre-order.)
so yeah, I really like the box we got though I have to admit, it works because I bought that hekaton almost immediately after the launch box so that stands in for the sagitaur for me.
Brad 100% chose the Subductor Squad for the cute Puppy.
ohhh, good to see christain von Carmian in here 👋
A note on the Lord of Virulence, in 10th it's currently a very popular unit alongside Mortarion and 3 Plagueburst crawlers, letting their mortar hit on 2s and ignoring cover, and if it's not alone it's usually leading Deathshrouds where its ability turns them into a very nice overwatch threat, plus they're generally tankier than Blightlords.
Finished painting my first minis just now, skit rangers. Would love to see fixing admech combat patrol
That tsons combat patrol has an amazing spread, it just looks super varied and fun. I'd definitely be tempted by that!
Man Brad is so nice giving Berillio a raise!
If I have for designed a miniature war game, I'll definitely need to take notes on these starter boxes because they just look fantastic!
Christan von carmin mention RAHHH!!!!
So funny thing about the exalted chariot is that it was the centerpiece model for the Start collecting and the instructions were how to build the combo I didn’t know you could build the smaller ones until after I built the big one
Poorhammer podcast you guys make every Tuesday morning/afternoon going in to work or volunteer have a happy little event
berelio (don't remember how to spell sry) is the greatest! I love every time he inserts a little cameo, so fun. He deserves a cookie
I tried this with admech and here's what I got:
We need a battle line unit, so in goes some skitarii.
Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol
Daemon Prince
Plaguebearers
Flamers
Fiends
Flesh Hounds
You get your centerpiece Daemon Prince, you have your objective holders in Plague Bearers, you have a ranged skirmisher unit in the Flamers, and you get two fast attacks for the melee gods. You even get synergy with having two Heroic Interventions for the Flamers when they get charged. Assuming a 40% discount, comes to 169.8, which is 2 bucks more than their current Combat Patrol, and comes to 575 points.
The thousands sons one reminds me of the 9th Orks Box, leader unit, 10 battle line, three flying boys, one big guy that kinda represents the faction
To do a proper imperial agents box you make it one and done and just one of every Non-assassin agents kit clearly
Here you have aeldari and harlequin lists for future inspirtation :D Prices as of what I have seen on warhammer page today.
Harlequin first (because I think this is better one for rebuyability, since you can take this thrice and have 75% of your army)
-Troupe Master + Troupe in one box - 130p/45 usd
- Starweaver - 80p/45 usd
- Voidweaver - 125p/45 usd
- two boxes of Skyweavers (4 bikes) - 190p/116 usd
total of 525 points and 251 usd, which should make this box have 36% discount
If you buy this one thrice, you basically have most of Harlequin army. Then you can buy either more troupes + starweavers, or some support characters - Death Jester or Solitaire if you want to have pure harlequin army.
Craftworld Aeldari box (breaking tradition and not putting farseer into it)
- Autarch Wayleaper - 115/32,75 usd
- Guardian Defenders - 100p/60 usd
- Howling Banshees - 70p/62,5 usd
- Falcon - 140p/62,5 usd
- Support Weapons - 135p/30 usd
total of 560 points and 247,75 usd, which make this box have 35% discount
I put there some of more used units, such as Falcon and Autarch Wayleaper (even if Falcon is more used together with banshees)
I’d say the logical next step is a collab with Von Carmine. I’d watch a start collecting GSC or sisters video he guest stars in.
Color me impressed, I didnt thought you could do the last one
Had yo do a double take to check if it was posible too, also nice Von Carmian shoutout
Ok, I'll admit, I knew Eric was going to do a 'knight' combat patrol, but I was thinking Grey not Imperial...
A few of the top lists this year have used 10 Tzaangor, they're actually pretty playable in Leviathan
all i want is Siam Hain eldar box... so like
1x Farseer Skyrunner
3x Shining Spears
3x Shroud Runners
6x Windriders
1x Vyper
done 515 points. maybe dump the Shining spears for another Vyper or some warlocks on jetbikes OR set of Swooping hawks
My favorite part of Combat Patrol Chaos Daemons is that its on the Blades of Khorne page for AoS. Because the list is legal in both games, which is so funny to me.
I came up with a different Tyranid Combat Patrol:
I only paint and Everytime I get burnt out y'all drop a video and pull me right back in and make me wanna finish my army
Agents of the Imperium actually can be run by itself now as of the January dataslate, so long as you dont select a detachment on army construction. Its even shown as separate on the 40k app.
