Fun Fact: in an interview on Jordan Sorcery, a game dev literally said that they try not to give everyone the same things so they can feel more unique (probably why Guard don’t have modern jetpacks and SMs don’t get jet bikes in 40k), and the wraiths were literally stated to be the Aeldari equivalent of Terminators
Yes, he saw The Command Phase's visuals for factions on one of their episodes, got jealous, and spent the next 2 days watching tutorials and whipping those up. Shout out to The Command Phase for the extremely cool visual flair.
Allarus Custodians are just the terminator version of the Custodes statline, whereas Paragon Warsuits are double the battleline infantry's toughness, quadruple the wounds, faster instead of slower, don't have deep strike, and are vehicles. All the issues Eric had with Allarus Custodians are even more egregious with the Warsuits, plus some more. Great episode though, can't wait for next week :)
About GK terminators, the spacer trick does work. You will have to shave down the spacers a bit for proper posing, and to avoid having a wasp waist, but even a thin spacer makes a lot of difference. Also, if you are doing this you will have to add spacers between the torso and the arms as well to broaden them out a bit in order to keep their proportions. The best way to do this is to get a sprue frame and slice a THIN piece out and stick it between the arms and the torso. You won't need much and any more than 1mm will be too much, but it will make the terminators look very good.
Eric really looked at a unit with "Terminator" in its name, has the exact stats expected of a Terminator, and is literally just a Terminator, but because it's a Golden Boy he gets pissy.
For Wraithblades I feel like you need to look at the Spirit Seer - Nobody would ever run them without - In lore or on the table. That way they get Regen and Hitting on 3+ - Also since they are Eldar Infantry they got more movement shenanigans than any other faction, so I feel like Deepstrike would be overkill.
Meganobz are such Orky fun. Imagining some Mekboy in times past checking out Terminators and furiously taking notes. Then giving his boyz a cooler and sillier name. Good work, Orks.
For the Votann Hearthguard, you CAN get both an invuln and deep strike! Attatched characters also come with a crest wargear option, and you'll pretty much always attatch a character to Hearthguard to get their bodyguard ability. An attatched Kahl can give the entire unit a 5+ invuln (or deep strike, but you get that from the squad leader anyway), or an attatched Einhyr Champ can get the same crest option (personal invul or deep strike).
The fact we have to say "No no, our captain let's the termies get an invul" makes me so sad. Our factions thing is supposed to be slow and tough, but not having a standard invul and trading a wound for a toughness (definitely a downgrade) on our beefiest toughest infantry is borderline pathetic.
You said C+ but gave my T'au boys an A+ in the video. Can't take it back now - now you have to do an "Every factions Crisis Battle Suits" episode (which means we'll finally see Centurions in a faction comparison).
I feel like Eric was wayyyy too pedantic for Custodes Terminator. A-? Really? For being 'too good at terminator'? And you give the Exalted 8 bound who are way different *also* an A-. Or fuck, the Sisters Paragon Warsuit which just also does 'better' terminator.
I almost want to offer up Killa Kanz as the Ork terminator. They have 2 wounds too many, one less save, but they have an invuln while still being mostly right for move, toughness, shooting and melee.

Custodes are space marines but better they are perfect in every way for it if they were T5 and 3. Wounds that would be worse than a custodes guard squad so t7 And 4 wounds is 1 extra than a custodes guard squad but tougher. And all custodes have 3 wounds and t6

Likewise, Ophidians nail the toughness, wounds and deepstrike, but are too fast with a worse save.
I feel like the homework should have been: to be a Terminator, you need +1 toughness, +1 wound, +1 to save and -1-2" move. That wouldve solved the allarus question imo
For what it's worth, CSM has a secondary option (albeit not necessarily A+ material) that they could've turned in, instead of copying loyalist homework. Possessed. They're huge, chunky, similar base size, 3 wounds, and slap in melee (although mainly due to Dark Pacts and dev wounds). They can't shoot, have too high toughness and speed, and worse save, but that's about where the differences end. A third, and significantly shootier option, would be obliterators.

33:13 Yeah we don't have Terminators. Because being slpw, plodding, and a big target is how you get dead in a real warzone. 40k being a tabletop game is the only reason terminators and knights even CAN exist. Any realistic battle simulation would see them destroyed in seconds.

My World Eaters friend is longing for the day that 40k World Eaters get the Red Butchers. They are such a neat concept. Heck, I would like to see a Blood Angels version for Death Company.
My theory is GW doesn't want to make them for 40k, because Eightbound but will probably cave to the overwhelming push from the community. Our Terminators don't even have a leader and are trash. Drop them for Red Butchers. But at the same time, I don't know how much different they could be from Eightbound, gameplay-wise. I see Juggernaut Cavalry and Berzerker Surgeons coming out before Red Butchers, in my opinion. Who knows though? Maybe all 3 will drop.
@@woahhbro2906 True, there are only so many ways you can do 'melee killy marine elite'. Personally, I think the solution would be to change Eightbound to better reflect the daemon-side - reduce their durability but lean more into the fun mobility options. Then Red Butchers could be the tankier but slower lot.
@@tiredtortoise3396 Agreed. The two different Eightbound/Exalted units are too similar and look too similar as well. I'd say keep the Exalted Eightbound for anti-tank targets and drop regular Eightbound and replace them with Red Butchers who kill infantry (essentially what regular Eightbound do now)
Nope, farsight is NOT the only melee option. If you do a crisis suit lord you can give them stuff to be not half bad in melee. Check out PlayOnTabletops vids, Nick’s Shas’o Kickass’o is surprisingly good lol!!
Weird thing for the nids, other than Warriors and Guard, they also have Pyrovores, Zoanthropes and now the Von Ryan’s Leapers and Norn Emissary act as what were/could be marine Termis: Trio of Pyros are the tough enough general infantry and even more point efficient, but lack weapon options and -1 on save+wound undo if run as harvester Zoans are as durable and warp+passive replicate canon/bolter termis, but are the only efficient anti-beef of nids in 10e to be used as such Von Ryans in Vanguard can effectively deep strike and have otherwise the right statline, but -2 on each save option thus fail there just as warriors and guard And Norn Emissary is math wise a just around termi sqad (well if you could go between the 5 and 10 option without paying for the higher) when used for what it really should be doing of taking over a point, but is single monster instead of 5+ tough infantry
Thousand Sons have normal terminators (Scarabs), small terminators (Rubrics), fast melee terminators (spawn), and giant terminators (vortex beasts). We've earned that A+
I haven't played in years. I watched this entire video because 1- it was well made and a lot of fun. 2- I wanted to know how Thousand Son Terminators compared to normal space Marines. I was also excited to learn about Grey Knights... Although they really need those hammers.
Problem with the T'au Crisis suits is that this was recorded before GW broke up the datasheet into various weapon loadouts. Stats didn't change, but the abilities and wargear options did (RIP cyclic ion blaster and shield generator on flamers)

Weird thing for the nids, other than Warriors and Guard, they also have Pyrovores, Zoanthropes and now the Von Ryan’s Leapers and Norn Emissary act as what were/could be marine Termis:
Trio of Pyros are the tough enough general infantry and even more point efficient, but lack weapon options and -1 on save+wound undo if run as harvester
Zoans are as durable and warp+passive replicate canon/bolter termis, but are the only efficient anti-beef of nids in 10e to be used as such
Von Ryans in Vanguard can effectively deep strike and have otherwise the right statline, but -2 on each save option thus fail there just as warriors and guard
And Norn Emissary is math wise a just around termi sqad (well if you could go between the 5 and 10 option without paying for the higher) when used for what it really should be doing of taking over a point, but is single monster instead of 5+ tough infantry
after making it through an hour of your content i did double check at myself being a subscriber, just to make sure i still had reasons to doubt myself
I love to see every new episode drop. Keep up the good content!
Next episode should be a tier list of Poorhammer podcasts episodes
I love these kinds of videos, interested to see what admech will show up with. My guess is the castellan robot
Kataphrons?!?!?!? Oh hell no
I dont disagree, i’m just loath to see them
"So they spent all night with the paper mache working on this!" 🤣
Wraith blades do have an invuln though.
Thousand Sons have normal terminators (Scarabs), small terminators (Rubrics), fast melee terminators (spawn), and giant terminators (vortex beasts). We've earned that A+
I haven't played in years. I watched this entire video because
1- it was well made and a lot of fun.
2- I wanted to know how Thousand Son Terminators compared to normal space Marines. I was also excited to learn about Grey Knights... Although they really need those hammers.
This is the video we all needed. Thank you for this amazing video. Keep up the good work! 👍
Honestly each factions “distraction carnifex” would be pretty interesting to watch
Problem with the T'au Crisis suits is that this was recorded before GW broke up the datasheet into various weapon loadouts. Stats didn't change, but the abilities and wargear options did (RIP cyclic ion blaster and shield generator on flamers)
