- Even the best plans can come undone if the weather decides to take an unexpected turn for the worse. Rain on a location shoot can be very disruptive but if the show must go on, it pays to have some backup plans in place.
In this live stream photo session, Gavin Hoey goes on location to a place he can guarantee wet weather. He’ll share his wet weather set up to keep his Flashpoint gear dry and some real-world "do’s and don’ts" for making portraits in the rain work for everyone involved.
Gavin's approach to wet weather photo sessions is to embrace the rain and use it to make some creative wet weather portraits.

Okay Gavin, Smoke,Rain, what's next Lighting bolts! Just kidding great video, thumbs up to Jade for being such a trooper. A couple of suggestions 1) from my biker days, any large trash bag can be adapted to a rain poncho. 2) I always carry some clamps (cheap non photographic) plastic.

I am a big fan of Gavin and his team :) Love watching his videos either outdoors or the stuff from his home studio. Not really sure why as I cannot put my finger on it but I did not enjoy this one so much. The idea is really cool and I place must be so much fun to shoot in but I guess you cannot please all the all of the time :(

Hi Gavin, very cool to see you perform live. And every time I learn from your tutorials. What is your setup to switch in a livestream from the main camera (with you and the model on the set), to a close-up, to the results on camera, to the live view of the camera etc. Off line I combine all this footage in post processing, but how do you do this live all at the same time? Can you do a video of your live stream setup? I love to do streams for my Dutch viewers.

One suggestion is to get some pool shoes for this shoot next time.
Wet socks and shoes were the worst when you got to drive anywhere like home.

There was super heavy duty rubber liner on the floor. The walls were wood I think

I do rain sessions why wouldn't you move the light back and us more power
Smoke makes it difficult to focus. Also acts as a reflector.
You should jave had on a rain suit
when shooting bows. extend to full extension so arms are flexed and show their tone better. folks ususally tilt head also to one side,. her bow shoots look like she is a model not a shooter
