Great match ever, Lindan was no less a champion. The 1st game went tit for tat between the two players, but from the 2nd game Lindan had become impatient and negative after trying up to the most his capacity, all cunning strike broken. Congratulation for Axelsen - the great champion so far!

Agree with the level of consistency part but the fact is Lin Dan had much harder opponents when he was dominating the circuit and still in a world championship final at 34, if Viktor is still in finals at 34 then I will tip my hat off to him.

Wimz Swimz Lin Dan has a 10 years $100 mil contract with Yonex, that is pretty much the whole reason he is still playing. It will continue into his 40s. I say being fair his matches after 2016 are more like a retirement record, should not really be counted in H2H. Otherwise he will lose a lot more in the next few years.

That prevails to LCW as well who was beaten by axelsen for 3 times in 2017. Luckily, he has 11-3 h2h against axelsen cuz LCW found his actual shape in 2018 about how to defeat axelsen.
