    What a great great come back! I think the commentators are fine. The male commentator is very sharp in my opinion. However, the umpire is terrible. He made two unfair (and incorrect) calls on Lin Dan. Axelsen drunk too much water:D Anyway, I'm so thrilled to see Lin Dan won!

    Great game for Lin Dan. Victor has he's strengths and smash from 3 meters is definitely working 💪 I don't like these arenas where there is so much drift that it affects the game this much! Especially the first game we saw many points where the shuttle went wide but then came back.

      That just shows he's an amateur. Player knows better. Victor couldn't play the same as he did in game 1 because LD didn't allow him to do so, not because the long backhand.

    • @AgentJ2007
      @AgentJ2007 ปีที่แล้ว

      Incorrect, the one which LD smash was not a long backhand, it was actually short , look at where LD's feet are. They are clearly within both service line meaning Axelsen's shot to the backhand was short.

    viktor was just tired in the end. I think viktor because he's a big guy, simply does not have the endurance. lin dan you can see he was playing alot of shots that pretty much was meant to wear out viktor.

    The male commentator is SOOOO amateur and biased to Viktor, couldn't stop blabbing that Viktor was playing wrong in the second and third frame because he put too little pressure to Lin Dan's long backhand, making it sound like Viktor should win the match because Viktor is better than Lin Dan now and losing it was simply because his own "mistake".
    Well, first, the major reason Lin Dan lost the first frame is the huge side drift, which lead to 4 misjudges on his side and 5 wide clear on Viktor's side. That combines to 9 unforced error. This had huge impact on Lin Dan's style which heavily relies on accuracy, while not so much on Viktor's attacking style. This totally disrupted Lin Dan's rhythm and plan, lost control to the shuttle and gave more good chances for Viktor to smash. In the second and third game we clearly saw that Lin Dan adjusted well to the drift and totally dominate the game. He made Viktor run all over the court and rarely let Viktor him smash comfortably.
    Second, the reason why Viktor didn't play Lin Dan's long backhand is because Lin Dan made it difficult for Viktor to do that. Lin Dan played a lot towards Viktor's forehand, which means if Viktor wants to clear to Lin Dan's backhand, he must do cross-court clear, which is very dangerous because we all know how good Lin Dan's around-head smash is, which is even more deceptive and powerful than his forehand smash(This is true through out his career if you watch a lot of his game. Even just for this game, if you look at the points made by smash in this match, more of them came from his around-head position). So, unless your cross-court clear is of very high quality, you can confidently play toward Lin Dan's long backhand, otherwise you'll be punished by his smash. Clearly, Viktor's clear is not good enough. Actually when talking about racqeut skills, shuttle accuracy and tactics to maneuver opponents, no one, I mean NO ONE can beat Lin Dan, not even close.

      Well, because the male commentator is also a Dane. It is true that he evaluated the game more like a Danish coach than a commentator should. But I think he still has his respect for LD as he said LD was able to respond to his question of fighting for survival while Viktor has became the one to fight for survival.

    • @chaoshi2395
      @chaoshi2395 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yeah I know he is Dane, and I can understand he would like to see Viktor to win. I don't have problem with that. It's just that he kept saying Viktor lost what he had in the first game, changed the plan, as if this was Viktor's plan. The truth is that Lin Dan made shots with better quality in 2nd and 3rd frames so Viktor doesn't have much chance to attack, and also got exhausted. If Viktor wants to win, he needs more sophisticated game plan(more diversified shot choice), better shot quality(accuracy and deception) and mental strength, but all of these are not for granted. These qualities are even more precious and difficult to gain than pure smash power. His comments simply does not appreciate enough of these, as if these are easy to get so Viktor should be able to stick to his own game plan -- disrupting your opponent's game plan is the ultimate skill in any competitive sports, it takes years of hard work and a sophisticated mind to achieve that, which is what Lin Dan has been through. I say he is amateur because as a former professional badminton player and coach, he should know better than this. Lin Dan has been changing his playing style proactively from when his physical ability was still at his prime.

    Those criticism heaped on the commentators, it is utter nonsense! Stem is the best commentator but he is not god, he can read the situation better than anyone else in the game, certainly better than the players and even the coaches themselves, it doesn't mean he will be 100% right all the time.
    He can already predict the outcome from the body language in the first part of the 3rd game! His criticism of Axelsen is spot on of not carrying out his successful strategy in the first game, and his tightening up due to nerve(psychology), not tiredness.
