  • The Einstein-scalar theory, in essence, is a modification of Einstein's theory of general relativity. You see, Einstein's theory of general relativity describes gravity as a curvature in spacetime caused by mass and energy.
This is a brilliant theory, but it doesn't incorporate quantum physics, the science of the minuscule.
It's an attempt to reconcile general relativity with quantum mechanics, the two fundamental pillars of modern physics that, unfortunately, don't play well together..
This scalar field interacts with matter and energy, influencing the structure of spacetime itself.
Think about the bowling ball on the trampoline again. Now, imagine that the trampoline is submerged in water. The water represents the scalar field, subtly influencing the curvature caused by the bowling ball.
It might even cause ripples that propagate outwards, akin to gravitational waves in our universe.
That's a rudimentary way to envision the Einstein-scalar theory.
The Einstein-scalar theory might also provide a glimpse into the dual nature of our universe, a concept akin to 'as above, so below'.
