I know you posted this a long time ago, but I got surf fishing alot. I fish two 12ft ugly sticks (5 year warranty) with two Penn Squall SQL20LW both are spooled with about 450 yards of 50lbs power pro(braid). A 10 ft would work I wouldnt go any shorter because the longer the pole the higher the tip is and that helps keep seaweed off your line. As long as the reel can hold at least 300 yards of your line of choice and has a decent drag it should work well.
The hook is a 2/0 long shank circle.Helios, GOOD catch on the Jack species. This was my first time in front of a camera. A little nervous hick up! Hope this helps some people become better surf fishermen.
hello I'm a new fisher and I plan to go to corpus christi and would like to know how you recommend me to set but my line, for drum I have a 12-30 lb wt line on a 6ft rod is this sufficient? could u do a how to video?
What size pole and type of reel do you recommend for surf fishing for fish like under 40 pounds or above I just want to know what type of pole/reel to use?!! Right now I have a Abu Garcia crx 6600!! Do you think that will be ok if I just get a longer pole like 9 10 feet?!
All that is unnecessary bc open like that every little fish eats off it like perch etc... redfish and blk drum are going to find it regardless...my opinion
This is funny. They mentioned catching croakers with crab bait and I just watched another video where they used croakers as bait to catch crabs.
thanks for the video, i do most of my fishing in the surf and i can add that to my arsenal of baits to use.
1:18 also snook too sir here in Puerto Rico works for "robalo" too = tambien

How? You can catch many blue crabs in just a few minutes. The true fishermen catch there own bait.
Salty Sheppard
Yes with a cast net..lol
You are kidding , why did you remove so much of the crab, I leave my crabs alive and only remove the claws.

Dead fish can't flare their gills and open their mouths.
1:59 that fish can mimic his nod
No it was alive u could see its gills moving
All that is unnecessary bc open like that every little fish eats off it like perch etc... redfish and blk drum are going to find it regardless...my opinion
