Got these and I like them so far. But you're right; there are some expectations people should be aware of. Also, I wish they looked and felt more premium for a $400 set. By the way, you can forward tracks by holding the volume up or down. Great review!
Great to have you back, Joe! The new studio is looking good and the top view camera is a nice addition. I'm looking forward to see your videos in the feed more regularly again. 😄👍🏻
Love your channel my man. Hands down the best reviewer when it comes to headphones for me. I picked these up and absolutely love them. How would you compare these to the Momentum 4s in terms of sound quality alone?
I paid $300aud which is just under $200usd. I realised my new phone supports snapdragon sound so I had to pick these up. Can't wait to listen to audiophile quality tracks without cables and a separate DAC. I'm not willing to go that far lol
What do you think about Focal Bathys vs Edifier Stax S3? UPDATE: I returned Bathys and got Stax Spirit S3. On the volume level, Bathys goes insanely high. Insane level. I wouldn't recommend anyone to hear music at that level of volume. Stax's high volume is higher than a lot of Bluetooth headphones but it's okay to hear at high volume for a brief period of time on this headphone
have you done the stax 5? pricier with noise cancelling. not usually a fan of noise cancelling it makes my head feel... shrinked. link it up huge fan of edifier i would do all my audio through them if I could
In your opinion, if we compare head-to-head 2 planar headphones from the manufacturer Edifier S3 and HiFiMan Deva Pro, which ones in your opinion will give more details, will be more stable at the lower and upper frequencies without a pronounced midrange. Which headphones will have a more even frequency response? Thanks in advance👍
Great review, i suscribe! :). They are good for pc gaming wired option as well? It will be good to have a headphone for daily life, and game (wired or bluetooth). I want to try the planar magnetics and i was considering Peronse, but it seems to have many issues.. Thinking to get this one..What do you think? . Thanks for your reviews!
Im having trouble on which amp/dac are suitable for this headphone? Because on my msi creator 17 laptop the s3 sound amazing. But on my desktop the sound is so bad i wanna kms
Great review 👍 got a pair a few days ago and loving the sound but they are soooooo creaky which is really annoying. I'm now on the fence if I should send them back and get the B&W PX7 S2.
Hey Joe, welcome back! Studio looks really nice. How would you compare these to the Sony XM5? Both $400 but these lack ANC, but I'm guessing they blow the Sony's out of the water from an audio standpoint? Also, those Devas should not leave the house.
Sony has custom EQ going for it which can help a lot. For detail retrieval the S3 is a superior sounding headphone for sure. Lacking ANC was a let down but it can hurt the sound quality anyway so to me I didn’t mind so much. I don’t need mics between me and the driver, and I don’t like what the ANC does to frequency response.
@@GadgetryTech I guess, i stick withe the S3. Since for convineince I have 1more Evo (in-ear tws with ANC). With hybrid drivers they sound good, but lack any soundstage. May i also ask, is passive noise canceling on S3 any good? I hope they are usable outdoors, otherwise what the point of them being wireless. You can't even use them wired, if electronics or battery die - my biggest concern.
Good to have you back and excellent setup and review!! Oh!! You've been found guilty 😅... That I purchased the Epos H6pro (closed back) bundle with the Gsx 300 and the GSP 600... And I love these headphones!! They become my main headsets, in PS5 the GSP 600 with the GSX (I prefer that way and not going through the controller). And in my Series X the H6Pro with my Astro mixamp pro. I love the sound of these two!! The bass, mids, highs... perfect sound for me. One question Joe, one friend of mine had the GSP 500, the open back, and I tested them in his house, and I like the sound, good bass for being opens, the soundstage, etc... but the confort, not the best for me, mainly for the earpads... I play mostly story mode games, rpg, open worlds, will be a good choice the H6Pro opens? Or the Sennheisers HD 599 (I found they're more cheaper right now)?
Great to hear you’re enjoying it so much! For open backs I would consider the Drop PC38X! The HD599s sound amazing but don’t have a mic so I’m not sure if that’s a dealbreaker for you or not.
@@izlord50 very good ones for what I read, but at these price point... I will go for the VZR Model One (yes, they're closed backs, I know 😅) when it becomes available in Europe... For the opens... maybe I give a try to the GSP 500, I love how they sound with great bass... I didn't found very confortables... but with time maybe I'll get used to them 😅
Great review, welcome back. I have a question, I play COD and PUBG and some FPS game, I want to upgrade my headset, which one do you recommend me to buy, VZR and Nova or something else.
Thanks so much for the support!! Sorry it took so long to respond. Overall, the Nova Pro has slightly better imaging and less THD than the Penrose. The Penrose are great, but aren't perfect by any means. The Nova Pro has some odd comfort issues with the ANC mic inside, but it didn't bother me. The Model One is crazy comfortable and has impeccable imaging. Some people may prefer a flatter EQ sounds however, as the Model Ones have a lot of bass energy.
Yeah I think overall it's a better sounding, more comfortable Penrose, but with nearly 10 times the battery life. If you don't need a mic for gaming it's incredible.
Coming soon! I got them at launch but was too busy to cover them. I decided to focus on products that were sent to me first to be fair to those brands. I had to buy the Inzone ones.

Agree. The design is not on bar with the price. But i got this brand new only for 150 bucks so it still a good deal :)))

Vs the Maxwell sound-wise and build quality?

Welcome back Joe. Love the new space. Nice looking headphones. Picked up a pair of Sundara’s last week so that’s my audio fix sorted for a while. 😂
Why not EQ from your music player? Wouldn't that solve the need for more bass?
Yess, but for multipoint or using it wired, that is a hastle.

I bought the 830 Edifiers when they first came. I gave them to my bestie coworker . He loves and I wish I had kept them 😹😹😹
Can you slightly grease plastic at the creaky points?

@@GadgetryTech so hard to choose between those right now. Sound or convenience. I heard that Sony sound as good as 50 dollars headphones.
